What sperg things do you do?

ive actually somewhat combatted this behaviour by consuming things when i dont need to, like deciding my character thinks some food looks tasty, so he eats it
>>
>>750565269
I say ouch when his characters get hurt.
>>
>>750565210
>stuffing your face on food in the middle of combat to not use the good consumables
This is unethical. You don't do this right?
>>
>>750565285
What if youre playing the type of game that discards unused ammo when reloading
>>
>>750565210
Use all stat increasing items on the protagonist. No exceptions

I treat healthbars as how much the enemy respects me as an opponent.
>only take out 25% of healthbar before dying
>enemy thinks I'm pathetic
>take out 50%
>enemy considers me an equal
>take out 75%+ enemy considers me either worthy or dangerous, depending on temperament
>>
>>750565349
You mean in a party type of game?
This fucked me up in crimson desert where I only ever unlocked kliffs skills and never played with the other 2 as they were too underlevelled.
Thankfully they patched than now where skillpoints are equally shared across all.

Using items is a crutch that only children and women do

When I fall from greats heights in games I tense up.

This is usually not the fault of the player, but shit game design. If the game is so easy that you never have to use consumables, even during the late stages, something went wrong during development.
>>
>>750565343
I pick it up from the ground up.

Whenever i see flowing water in a video game i always want to follow it and find out where it goes. I've always really loved flowing water IRL as well which i now know is a sign of autism and vidya is not any different for me. Same with feeling vertigo both IRL and in vidya.

Sometimes I wont pause
I'll let my character rest and chill out for a bit
He deserves it

Sometimes let em enjoy a food item as a treat even if they dont need any boost
Relax my guy its time to take it easy
>>
>>750565210
If a game gives me free resources, I will go out of my way to use them. For example, if my character slowly autoheals, I will stand still for five minutes, even if I have 1000 healing items.
Or I will track back to a Pokemon Center after every battle, regardless of my item and money situation.

I always close doors to safe areas after I pass through them in zombie games.
>>
>>750565210
I almost do that. I save all my items and then beat the final boss using them and really pwn him as hard as possible.
>>
>>750565210
Sometimes, in order to avoid the hoarding, I simply immediately use any consumable I find on the spot if it isn't a basic health item.
Which can lead to some funny fallout playthroughs.

snek liek water
>>
>>750565210
I usually sell some (or a lot) of those items along the way and just keep a few. If for some reason I need a huge stockpile of rare uaable items or giga-heals, I'm probably playing the game wrong/badly

Plenty of games have this crappy design
>>
>>750565210
>healing items are easy to obtain
>bosses are tuned accordingly
>restart whenever I can't win without healing
I just don't feel like I earned the victory unless I wipe the floor with the boss
>>
>>750565210
This is a problem when there's a ton of consumables and they are all shit on average, during regular gameplay there's no reason to use them, and during a boss fight, it either doesn't help or is unnecessary. Just shit game design

After using my sword in Ocarina of Time, I always stand still for a few seconds so I can use the "Put Away" prompt.

>Beat final boss without ever needing them
If you never need them then whats so bad about never using them? Is being good at video games a bad thing now?
>>
>>750565210
Instantly look up the solution to a puzzle if I can't figure it out in like 10 seconds, and then get mad at myself for cheating
>>
>>750565210
Videogames helped me become decisive in using things and discarding worthless things.

There's no reason not to use the megalixer when you're fighting the super boss. There's also no reason not to just sell/throw out an item that you're never going to need, especially if it's not that hard to get again if you were wrong.

It's not a sperg thing. It's insurance against poorly-designed bullshit.
Blame arcade games and poorly-designed garbage like old Sierra adventure games for training people to be this way
>game is designed around using get out of jail free cards at the right time
>if you use them in other situations, e.g. to save yourself when you're doing poorly, the game becomes unwinnable, you get locked to a bad ending, you miss out on a cool skill or equip later down the road
The only real use for one-time consumables is for repeated playthroughs, when you already know what's coming and you just want to save time
>>
>>750565285
This is why I always carry an auto shotgun in Left 4 Dead 2. Not because I can't aim but because I'm a compulsive reloader. I actually prefer the sniper rifle but I only ever feel comfortable using it during camping chapters where you can sit on a weapon swap that means you don't have to reload.
>>
>>750565718
>the game is poorly designed unless you can brick your game by not hoarding the limited-use consumables
I'd say save bricking is poor game design and a great way to earn 1-star reviews
>>
>>750576252
in most case it's less about being good and more about the game being piss easy

>Only carry the exact amount of ammo that I would realistically need (2-3 clips per gun) even if ammo is weightless
>Double tap every single enemy who's on the ground to make certain they're dead
>If I can customize my character in a game where I'm using stealth I'll make sure to make them as generic looking as possible so they wouldn't realistically attract any extra attention to themselves
>Turn subtitles off so I'm forced to pay attention to what people say even if it's in another language because subtitles wouldn't exist IRL
>>
>>750565210
who DOESN'T do this? the only time you don't hoard is when you play a game that has very limited magic and other ways to heal so you're forced to use potions and other resources to recover
