>>750564431Earth does get destroyed and most of humanity gets merged but Isaac manages to get away somehow, it's left ambiguous if he actually made it back or merely had a vision that came trueHe's rescued by a bunch of survivors and while they're all engineers or similarly educated people, they're as mentally unstable as Isaac is because they've had their own run ins with Unitology and MarkersWith their combined disregard for OSHA they manage to get a planet cracker to crack a Brother Moon and spend the rest of the game building up a fleet of progressively more insane and excessive methods of bending physics to kill MoonsYou do run into other groups like the military with their own fleets and they're less mentally damaged than you are but while there's some tension they ultimately concede that Isaac and friends have the best shot at saving humanity or at least killing the necromorphsSince doing this the smart way would take too long, the Brother Moons force the issue at the end and you take your big fleet and have a big battle that involves a lot of time/space fuckery and psychic fuckery that ultimately destroys the Moons and the necromorphs once and for all, or at least makes them a non-threat for a few thousand years, regardless a whole chunk of the galaxy is basically the Deadest Space(tm) and humanity enduresExcept most of humanity's best and brightest are now completely insane and they're effectively the ruling class thanks to their intelligence and monopoly on doomsday weapons, spawning countless cults of personality that would make Unitologists blush, ushering in a galaxy wide dark age that it might not actually recover fromIsaac and Ellie say "fuck this" and leave to go live in seclusion
