any tips for this game?

Slap sap generators on a bunch of different trees around town. Always be refining ore after you visit the quarry. Hold onto the random stuff birds drop.

>town doctor is a 40 year old woman that gets drunk at 8am and has no medical license so she just feeds you pills made of weeds

She is never getting married
>>
>>750547952
I mean it's fairly accurate. I had a Possum of all things kill 2 of my chickens because those retards wouldn't go into the coop and it was a bloody mess. Funny enough possums staple is just leaving the legs with little to nothing else.
>>
>>750551146
Did the possum knock on your door and pretend to be a little girl so you would let it in before doing it?
>>
I love Harvest Moon 64 but think Rune Factory or the newer SOS games are gay. Sakuna was amazing. Is this for me?
>>
>>750547952
what was the price tag again?
>>
>>750547952
If you've ever had a fox attack, this is pretty much what it looks like (often with no bodies, maybe like some leg or a wing and a shoulder).
>>
>>750547952
That's accurate. When chickens get killed it's usually foxes or coyotes and they bite it on the neck and then basically just thrash around to break it. If you've ever seen a dog grab a toy and violently shake their head side to side, that's what they're doing. Since their teeth pierce the skin of the neck, this results in spraying blood absolutely everywhere.
>>
>>750551789
It doesn't have the same level of autistic rice farming as Sakuna but you can grow rice and if you have ducks they will help manage some of the rice field when you let them out. Characters have actual personalities like in Sakuna and everyone isnt automatically best friends the moment you meet them. Instead of balancing growing crops and combat you get horror sections where you can find shit to upgrade your skills or craft things.

Just doing the action does nothing except for harvesting crops since their quality levels up based on how many you have collected.

There's a skill tree you unlock and upgrade using materials you find at night or you can buy from the general store each week. It gives you shit like finding extra material from rocks and using less stamina from actions.

That can't be right. It saves whenever you go to sleep. Also, there's a "skip" button for dialogues, but it's more like a fast-forward.
>>
>>750563206
Well, it didn't on my (pirated) version. Yes, the dialogue fast forward is there, but you can't skip cutscene animations and they take way too long if anyone wanted to replay the game.

If you want to farm, set up a sprinkler system ASAP. I wasted way too much time manually watering shit that eventually slowed my ass down way too much when I should've just said fuck the garden watering for a day or 2 and just mined ore for sprinklers, even with upgraded watering cans. Then you'll have more free time to do other shit to play with the other elements of the game but I also admittedly went way too fucking hard in on the farming.
Alternatively, if you want a gold crop in order to win with a crop at the fair, fish for a bit to get some money to buy enough seeds. I think if it's even possible it'll be extremely difficult, but you can try to win with tea leaves for Spring; you'll thank me if you decide to do post-game unlocks. Odds are you won't reach gold by then, but maybe with fertilizer you can since they made it where it actually can work now. Since I'm pretty sure a one-time gold crop will still win it even if it's usually silver.

If you don't have a gold crop for your first end-of-the-month to win the farmers' fair, put up any animal; even losing you'll get an unlock.

You can save some pond boss fishes for cultivation later unless you need that selling money asap.

The more pickling barrels you have, the more money you have. They're cheap as fuck to make as long as you enter a violent rage whenever you see a fully-grown tree. Also, sap from oaks and chestnut trees are good for beekeeping (which make honey, which can then be used to royal jelly which sells for a lot) but they take forever to harvest, so plan for that if you care, maybe even plant some at your farm. Harms the 'cut every tree down' thing, though.
>>
>>750563839
NTA, but I have a question. You seem to be far into the game already, and quite knowledgeable, but I just started to my question is pretty basic: the first crafting blueprints the game gives is for roads and fences, but do you even have the luxury to place those, when you could be PLOTMAXXING, considering farm space is limited?
>>
File: 20261029034139_1.jpg (769 KB, 1921x1081)
769 KB JPG
>>750563938
If you want to plotmaxx then they have very limited uses. You can still put floor tiles and fences outside the farming areas to an extent, and you can put sprinklers on floor tiles so there's that (odds are you won't see it past the crops and sprinkler anyway), but floor tiles do have some temporary uses otherwise.

Like here you can see I surrounded fruit trees with some tiles. That's because if anything is adjacent to a fruit tree (even diagonal), weed, grass, crop or anything other than a floor tile, the fuckers will refuse to grow at all. So doing this will prevent rocks, weeds, and random logs from spawning next to it. Once they're fully grown you can remove the tiles for maximum plotmaxxing since it won't matter anymore, but I just left them 'cuz eh fuck it. Fences are just worse floor tiles. I can't think any reason I'd want to separate anything with a fence outside of decorum.
>>
So how's the game? Good balance between farming and horror? Or two half-assed systems mashed together that doesn't feel like a complete game?
>>
>>750564278
Having beaten game I thought it was decently well balanced. Could've gone a bit harder on the horror but what can you do. Plus even after you beat the game, it unlocks new things to play with per seasons until at least year 3.
>>
>>750563936
I played in Japanese and have no idea what you're talking about. If anything the game heavily suggest but never confirms the protagonist is meant to be a girl. It clearly leaves it vague in case you want to pretend to be an effeminate boy.

Do the fishing spots around town matter at all or are they all the same fish other than the quarry?

The one closest to your house on the way to town feels like it just sucks and barely hooks fish compared to the one north east of it
>>
>>750564623
All the fishing spots have a different set of fish based on time of day and season. They have a bit of overlap, but at the very least they all have a different lake boss (that sells for 2,500). Getting random types of fish helps whenever a request pops up.

The only fishing spot that particularly sucks is the waterfall basin because the devs gave it an extra low catch rate. They even buffed it in a patch, but it's still low.
>>
>>750564819
>whenever a request pops up
NTA, but redpill me on those.
I'm paranoid about selling anything, because I'm afraid I will need it later for a side quest or something.

>the river the moment someone asks me for a specific fish I dont have
>>
>>750564903
Whenever it unlocks, the bulletin boards around town will have 3 requests on it that ask for a random item that's usually available that season, but it ignores what you actually have or what year it is, so they can ask you for something impossible to get at the time. Like sometimes Sumire will ask for 2 whatever fish, and he'll pay you 1000 for it. Or they'll ask for a flower you can't even get until the following year. These requests reset weekly. The villagers also have unlisted requests where they'll ask you to get something for them only if you speak with them alone (not group conversations) per week.

Otherwise, for 'side quests,' later on there's only 2 things you need to be aware of.
First: The Fox Shrine for upgrading your stamina is based on season and you fail to get what it wants, you're fucked out of a stam upgrade for a year. The good news is you can get all of them in the first year, but it does try to fuck you over I believe in autumn, which is circumvented by abusing the Fox's mechanic. Which is the Fox will drop an item you need for its shrine if you chase it all the way, which allows you to get a year 2 item on year 1 if you turn in all the possible shit first. It'll only drop one per night.

Second, and less important: Rin later has a big 'get weird things to get rare furniture/cosmetic and one building unlocks'. The most important unlock in these requires brand name goods that you can only make one of once a month, namely for crops those being Tea Leaves, Rice, and Tofu. Going by how the soonest you can get this is like late year 2 or even year 3 I forget, I wouldn't think about it too hard, though. Otherwise she'll also ask for some other random shit that can sometimes be seasonal for decoration shit, like fish, seasonal veggies, fruits, etc. And then there's easier to get things like glass bars which can get gotten any season. Typically she won't ask for more than 5 of any of the seasonal shit.
>>
>>750565170
>Typically she won't ask for more than 5 of any of the seasonal shit.
That's basically what I want to know. Is there a minimal stack of items I should keep and not sell? In case I'll need them for a request.
>>
How do I complete requests?
I got the fishes for the dude in the restaurant but can't give it to him.
>>
>>750565243
It's nothing too bad, like here's an example of what she wants. Here, I forgot to grow lotus roots whatsoever so I couldn't give any for its season, the reward just being a whatever snowglobe.

Best advice I can give is don't fuck up getting tofu at the end of summer / beginning of autumn. That shit is used for so many cooking recipes and some other things. Basically, when it turns autumn you need to have some ripe basedbeans on your plants and just leave them there. When the game told me the plant turns into tofu at the end of fall, I assumed it'd grow a new batch and it'd be fine if I harvested the basedbeans there already for maximum profit. Was wrong, obviously.

>>750565312
I don't recall anything that would stop you. Just have it highlighted in your inventory and press Y/Triangle next to them; the text should change from 'gift' to 'turn in' or whatever it is. They won't take partial turn-ins so it has to be the whole deal.
>>
>>750565464
I always forget the funny 4chan filter for the word since it never comes up enough.
>>
>>750565464
>and just leave them there
Like, not harvesting ripe plants? That's not something I'd even think of in the first place. This game is becoming more and more stressful, and not because of the horror aspect.
Anyway, do those request have a time limit? And is there a max number of requests you can accept at a time? Or can I just leave them hanging for YEARS until I get all the right items?
>>

>>
>>750565551
The tofu is really the only bizarre fucked one that does it. Like you I didn't imagine it properly either, and it fucked me.

The random requests do have a time limit, the board ones are like 6 days or whatever from when it was put on the board, and the random villager ones are like 5 days from whenever you get it from them. The big request shit in my image has no time frame. You can accept as many as you want.
>>
>>750548470
Random tip is for a bizarre unlock condition, you need to sell a certain amount (20-30, I forget) of raw fruits from fruit trees. As in not pickling them, juicing them, or whatever before selling them. Doing this unlocks the full fruit tree catalogue at the shop.

Wait. I'm in the early game, and I overheard the diner grandpa saying something about fish. BUT I accidentally skipped it, because my A button double clicks often. And since it was just a random dialogue, not a part of the main story, there was no log to look up past messages. And he wouldn't repeat it when I talked to him again.
Was that one of those unlogged personal requests, or did that dialogue line just set up a future event? I didn't catch what kind of fish he was talking about.

Not agreeing with the schizo but it doesn't really say so at all. Ame's default appearance is pretty obviously a country boy and this means Kodama is one as well since it was their body to begin with and the Japs have been running with that. Obviously you can make Ame/Kodama look like whatever though, so their gender doesn't especially matter (and Ame is a star god so it goes double for him/it).

Not as ballcrushing that's for damn sure.

Kodama's speech patterns and behaviors, as well as her interactions with family, are very typical of the imouto stereotype. Plus she looks even more effeminate transformed. Ame's appearance is that a tomboy but what else is a child farming completely alone since 8 years old supposed to look like? Plus every protagonist in the Yomawari series has been confirmed to be girls. Ame itself is a genderless freak but that's completely irrelevant.

I'm only a couple hours in but does anyone else feel like the game is way too linear and railroady? there's no reason to explore, I have found nothing interesting. No event is missable or optional so far. There's no real point to trying to grow crops or make money, the only things I can buy are more seeds, decorations, and inventory upgrades. And worst of all, I can't break the rules intentionally, only during scripted events. Even when I wanted to stay outside at night, it teleports me back to my house instead. And during the scripted event where it 'allows' me to stay out, it teleports me to my house first and then lets me walk outside from there. At least have the decency of allowing me to go outside at night and then killing me in some spooky fashion, rather than just making it impossible. maybe it opens up more eventually? But this feels like a 6 hour tutorial so far with how much hand-holding and restriction it's doing.
