Kid Michael segment is so good.

It's so grimey and over the top. Especially the chaos with his mom at the very beginning. Mixes a "made this way because of his environment" with "this dude was born a psychopath" and his Loomis interviewers perfect show that thin line between those theories.

The kid looked absolutely nothing like the original. The supernatural element was stupid. Laurie turning into goth trash was stupid. The ending was shit. There were some cool kills tho. The hospital massacre was neat even tho it was fake. And i still to this day tell the "difference between jam and jelly" joke. So it wasnt all bad.

Devil’s Rejects is his best movie because it’s basically a subversion of the 00s horror genre, probably unintentionally. It’s like a parody played really straight, even though it’s campy as hell.

There's cool bits in there. Some of the violence is really gnarly but there's so much shit surrounding it and he pulls back the curtain on things that fundamentally don't need to be revealed. Getting his white trash backstory doesn't add anything or make it scarier than what they did in the original.

the only 2 scenes you remember from this film are when hes killing his bully with a stick and then when he kills the black trucker in the bathroom stall

His backstory made me hate and fear him more because it's clear as shit he was always a sick and evil piece of shit that at best held two people dear and only barely, if his intention was to tell the audience that monsters are born he succeeded
