what is the message/moral of this story?
Sally was ugly desu.
>>224049333Immigration is bad
>>224049333It was an anti-colonial message. Jack tried colonizing Christmas but only damaged it and almost destroyed it. It's allegory for what Europeans did to most of the world. They colonized and destroyed so many rich cultures, many of which produced all the technology the Europeans stole and claimed.
>>224049333 The concept of a holiday cinematic universe or narnia startled portal system is so intriguing to me as an adult and I don't remember thinking about it at all as a child. Because he gets access to the real world where santa delivers the presents too right? Also I remember being like 5 years old and shopping with my mom after watching this in theaters originally, I remember all of the toys on display at the stores. Good times. Zoomers dont know what they missed with the 90s and toys R us.
>>224049333 I think the moral of the story was at the end of the day Jack's upbringing or environment or evolutionary path made him so diametrically opposite to normal life or Christmas town that he couldn't really interact with anybody outside of his own sphere in good faith. And that was something everyone had to accept, especially Jack. But it wasn't in like a way that made it sound like Jack in the Halloween Town had to be purged with nuclear fire, they just had to stay separate and do what they did best at the point in time where they were needed.
>>224049333It's fine to like other cultures from afar but you should keep it separate and segregated and put your own first. A leopard can't change its spots.
>>224049333You should raise a child army to do your bidding.
>>224049333When this released in theaters I was 11 years old. I was hyped from the trailer. It bored me to death. I haven't watched it again.
>>224049333Jack ruined Christmas because he didn't understand it.Moral of the story: Gatekeep fandoms from LARPers.
>>224049333Jack has BPD and like a lot of bipolars is massive asshole and never takes accountability. That's why women LOVE Jack Skellington. He's the male version of the manic pixie dream girl.
>>224049765>Jack has BPD>and like a lot of bipolarsBPD is "borderline pesonality disorder", not "bi-polar disorder".
THATS RIGHT AWAY YOU GO
Act like an artsy faggot and you'll get goth chicks.
>>224049333It was about embracing who you are instead of trying to become something you're not. Jack thought he could find fulfillment by becoming Sandy Claws, but he totally misunderstood what Christmas was because he was ultimately a creature of Halloween, which is something he couldn't change. He finally learned to embrace who he always was. The message is essentially anti-trans
>>224049333Stick to your own culture and religion because you'll just fuck everything up if you try to become buddhist or whatever.
stay in your lane
>>224049560The music is ok and I liked the animation. The story is stupid. >I'm the Halloween man>I want to be the Christmas man>No you're the halloween man>No, I'm the Christmas man now>Oh no I suck at it>What the heck I tried, I'm the Halloween man btw.Hm.

>>224049333>You will never be a real Christmas. You have no winter, you have no jolliness, you have no warmth. You are a Halloween twisted by dead trees and candles into a crude mockery of Christ's perfection. All the "presents" you get are disguised and ghoulishly themed.
>>224049333That christmas is better than halloween.
>>224049458>>224049496Isn't it hilarious that most Tim Burton fans are women and fags who would call this idea evil vile racism.
Recently watched this for the first time since I was a kid. I'm confused about one thing: are all these holiday worlds on the same planet and the doorways just teleport you to their corner of the world? Cuz he doesn't walk out of a Halloween door and find the other doors, instead he just stumbles thru the woods and finds them. Then when hes playin Santa Claus he just flies away from Halloweentown into the regular world to deliver presents.
>>224050921I interpreted the world as having warp pipes to other holiday worlds that are otherwise difficult to access for normal humans. A human can go to Christmas Town and Halloween Town, but it would be difficult. Likewise without the warps to other holiday worlds it would be hard for residents of Christmas Town and Halloween Town to otherwise meet each other. And with holidays being separated, they don't really have a reason to interact or be aware of each other.

>>224050101nice a fellow kh chadI still to this day haven’t seen The Nightmare Before Christmas so all my knowledge comes from the levels in KH 1 and 2. For the longest time I thought there were two movies because the Christmas shit was contained solely to KH2’s level and a Halloween meets Christmas theme feels like a plausible premise for one of those shitty direct-to-dvd sequels>why else would it be called The Nightmare Before Christmas, anon?because Halloween comes before Christmas and the pun itself doesn’t imply an actual connection to Christmas aside from that
>>224049333Stay in your fucking lane.
>>224049333Play to your own strengths, don’t try to adopt a new identity that doesn’t fit who you really are.
>>224049458>>224049496People often misinterpret The Nightmare Before Christmas, but Jack’s arc is really an allegory for artistic exhaustion. After mastering his domain, he experiences burnout, attempts to step into a completely different creative vision, and suffers a public failure. Santa delivering Christmas to Halloween Town in the end highlights the true theme: passion is restored not by taking over someone else's art, but by reconnecting with your own.>Inb4 ackshually that's what I said! No, you didn't. Not even close. Jack failed because he tried to forcefully recreate something he loved without understanding why it worked, not because he 'stepped outside his lane', as I mentioned, Santa stepping in at the end to give Halloween Town actual snow shows that cross-cultural exchange isn't the problem
>>224049333Stay in your lane.
>>224050921I imagine there's something similar to each world, like in Christmas Town there's a clearing covered in snow. But it could all be interconnected considering they're only referred to as towns, and a whole fucking planet for Halloween would be... excessive
>>224049333He's tall white and handsome so he can get away with anything
>>224049369lol I literally came here to post this
>>224049333"The grass is always greener on the other side" is a dangerous thought.
>>224049333I have no idea what the message is and I still consider this to be a 10/10 film
>>224049333Halloween is the last barrier before Christmas spilling over into September and maybe even August like how it's already took over thanksgiving
