I feel like there's this giant disconnect between what the series is trying to do and what I'm getting from it. Because the only thing I'm getting from this is that anything that's ever called itself a belter should be shoved out of an airlock as quickly as possible. It's like an entire society of ex prison convicts with below 70 iq points.
>>224048480Miller, Dummer, and Ashford are belters. They're not dumb or bad. Belters are not one singular group nor are they a singular mind. It's like saying all people in flyover states should be killed. They're a bunch of different states, populated by a variety of group, millions of people, vastly different from each other, and they still contribute plenty, especially by growing a ton of crops. But there's still also a lot of drug addicts, alcoholism and crime. The idea of humans living in a low gravity asteroid belt, being changed to almost alien, and being relegated to a slave class is interesting scifi that hasn't been explored before. The show didn't do it justice by not being able to make them tall and lanky enough

The UN being elitist richy riches, Martians being militaristic nationalists and Belters being a smorgasbord of disregarded cast off masses surviving on every rock floating around the system. Then you throw in nefarious ayy action and you've got a cool setting. Shame we didn't get seasons out of the last three books

It's all over the place....>first it's a detective story>then it's zombie horror story in space>then it's a terrorist vs establishment story>then it's a science fiction space colonization storyProbably would have preferred a series that focused on one of these.
