This basically inspired me to start the October Horrorthon. I had watched Prince of Darkness months ago and it immediatly became my favourite John Carpenter film. After the film finished I thought to myself, 'It would have been perfect to have watched this for the first time on Halloween' hence...

I had Salem's Lot ready to watch around the same time. I was going through a horror kick and thought that it would be the perfect film to end the marathon.

Watching this made me realise that I fucking hate Mike Flanagan. The only thing I've ever liked from him was Midnight Mass. Now I come to find out Midnight Mass is just Salem's Lot, but make it fake and gay and have it be brought down by needlessly long monologues as well as terrible performaces by the teenage and child actors (and Mike Flanagan's wife of course).

What I can say about Salem's Lot is that this stands tall next to The Mist, Carrie, and The Shawshank Redemption as the best Stephen King adaptations of all time. It also competes for the greatest Tobe Hooper film as well.

I watched around 60 horror movies this year, two movies a night.
Was quite comfy honestly, not fatigued at all.
