The love story has no relation to the horror - it's just there for a point of human interest. Not funny enough to be a comedy, not creative enough for a horror film. Best part of the film is Griffith Dunne.

Like they flew the actors to Paris to shoot in real Paris streets. They really went to the Eiffel Tower. I just know the producers were saying shit like "But can't we set it in Los Angeles?" And if this were made today it would be an AI generated Eiffel Tower. The effort that went into low effort movies 20 years ago was insane. And honesty I'd much rather watch AAWIP over American Pie or Porky's or Meatballs or whatever other teen sex comedy exists.

>>224043061Love this one, the sequel, too. I recently watched pic-related and highly recommend it. The story and the tone are nothing like AWWiL, but it uses a lot of practical effects, and that will always be a plus to me. Done right, it adds a realism and a weight that CGI just fails to capture. It also adds the right kind of “wrongness” to the werewolf, which really helps to sell the body horror and the fact that lycanthropy isn’t supposed to be a superpower. It’s a curse.
