>Well, it's-it's very complicated...It's all math
>>224039823Was this the original "explain a wormhole with a pen through paper scene", or have all of these movies been coping Event Horizon?
>>224039823It was good explanation
I remember versions of it in science documentaries on Discovery or The Learning Channel (that used to be what those channels were about) but I can't think of one in popular fiction that predates EH.
>and this is how you were conceived
>>224039823Just get the pen and paper.
>>224040251>have all of these movies been coping Event Horizon?Yes.>>224040972*an attractive piece of paper
>>224040893HEY WE WERE SAVING THAT!
>>224039823in English, doc.
>>224041293>*an attractive piece of paperThat helps the learning process.
Too soon man... to soon...
>>224040251Im pretty sure some early episode of stargate and the movie Contact have it too, but I couldnt tell you who did it first
>>224039823>>224040251the novel A Wrinkle in Time, published in 1962, features a character explaining a wormhole, complete with illustration, but it's a piece of string or fabric, not an object pushed through paper.
>>224039823It made sense to me.What doesn't make sense to me is just how the fuck they think the math worked outside of hypothetical. To create a gravitational singularity you'd need all factors, we barely have a grasp on our own planets gravity to specific decimal places.Let alone a random places gravity. there is no way to account for every factor like no shit a single decimal point variable being wrong would have you sent through a planet occupying space with other atoms and create anomalies.
>>224041662you don't understand why they didn't show the math they didn't have in a movie where it's not relevant? is that really what confused you?
>>224042103Read my post again ESL anon.>how the fuck THEY think the math workedthey sent a team on a highly experimental to the point of absurdity mission using at best equations they were literally guessing on.it's not sound logic in any situation.
>>224042148>Death is a doorwayTzeentch funneling the know-how into Dr. Weir's head via his grief over the death of his wife. Chaos needed Humanity to start punching holes in reality to supercharge the Warp in preparation for the Emperor's Rise in the next few centuries.Good Math was not required.
>>224042307bro over here pretending tranny slop is related to event horizon.
>>224042148That makes perfect sense when you consider it was a small crew dispatched to launch the Event Horizon to test it and theres no mention of AI anywhere in the setting to do it autonomously. Test pilots exist. They paid some brave men and women to turn the machine on and see what would happen. And that is a reasonable decision. They explicitly state FTL is impossible and humanity is alreadh colonizing the solar system in the setting. So they ran out of space. Humans want to go everywhere they can, and the Event Horizon wormhole was a big, big possibility. If it had worked, it meant humans could travel anywhere in the entire universe if they could get the math down for the area they wanted to go. They'd go from 1 solar system to every galaxy in existence potentially. The biggest jump in progress that could -ever- be made.
>>224042148if you think my post is ESL, then you are a retard, and i suggest you take remedial English, nigger.
