after watching the 2026 series which was surprisingly good, i've been watching all the carrie's one after the other.
>carrie 1976: more campy and corny than i expected. travolta is ass. spacek is good. most of the movie is bad until the prom scene where it all comes together and is quite frightening.

>carrie 2002: thought this would suck but wasn't that bad. some bad CGI which somehow makes it more strange. the lead is HOT AF. she grew up in NY I believe and I reckon she was a proto-hipster. the way she dresses and her unusual edgy look.

watching carrie 2013 tomorrow
>>
>>224037273
they are more palatable, most people know about the original but not many have bothered with it since it is from the 70s, they stick to the recent stuff that it's easier to watch. Same goes for dawn of the dead

(HALLOWEEN)

> The Miramax Halloween series treats Myers faithfully like a unstoppable supernatural phantom & has nudity.

> More stand alone Halloween comics like Nightdance. Maybe mini series that each follow up a different continuity in the series...
>- Myers & the cult hunting Jamie's baby after 6.
>- Adapt the early H7 script about Myers stalking a girls boarding school.
>- Myers hunting Laurie's son after H20.
>- Adapt the script for Rob Zombie's Halloween 3.
>- Adapt the script for Halloween Returns that was planned before the 2018 movie pitch.

> The earlier scripts for Halloween 4 are released online, I wanna see how Myers was defeated in the version of the script that had Sheriff Meeker fight Myers to the death in his basement resulting in his house burning down.

> The cut footage of the H5 police station massacre & Meeker's death are found & released despite their absence in the recent Blu-Ray that had the Dr Death opening (we know it was filmed because we have a BTS pic of Meeker getting shot)

> The full Face of Michael Myers short film is made despite the original kickstarter failing. Prelude Short - https://youtu.be/wCAxcOmVCNs

(OTHER SLASHERS)

> Scream 8 Onward - Sydney does not become a killer & is not killed off unless it's a respectful successful heroic sacrifice. Maybe have the film take place in snowy weather & invert Ghost Face's colors so he will blend in with the environment.

> The Blumhouse My Bloody Valentine reboot is on par with Halloween (18).
> It makes better more suspenseful use of the mine than the 09 remake did.
> Has nudity like 09.

> If they reboot ANOES again and wish to return Freddy to the horror & humor balance they got perfect in 3, consider Tom Hiddleston.

> The reboot/sequel to Madman (81) does not have a feminist bent to it despite the original film's producer claiming he plans to give it such (ignoring how great & strong of a final girl Gaylen Ross was in the original)

> Some more obscure non franchise slasher films get sequels/reboots with new stories. I would like to see something done with The Slayer or Superstition (both from 1982)

> A new serious toned slasher with a Samurai killer.

> We get Zodiac (07) / From Hell / The Town that Dreaded Sundown style slasher/murder mystery movies about the real life Axeman of New Orleans & the Hinterkaifeck farm massacre.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axeman_of_New_Orleans

(OTHER HORROR)

> We get a period piece Conjuring spin off about the samurai armor in the Warren's collection, maybe set during the occupation of Japan?

> We get some more horror & slasher films set near the sea/on ships, make use of moody harbors, docks & foggy nights. A undead Sea Captain slasher would be cool.

> We get further mostly serious toned theatrically released killer animal films like The Shallows & Crawl. Ideally ones with oversized Scorpions and Octopuses. Remake of Tentacles (1977)?
> Crawl 2 is on par with the first.

> Antje Traue is cast as The Bride of Frankenstein, if that film in Universal's Dark Universe moves forward.

> If the Dark Universe moves forward, Dracula Untold is reinstated into canon. I want more of Luke Evan's take on the character.

> More Pumpkinhead movies.

> Cabin in the Woods anthology series with each episode (maybe every 2 episodes) being a different cast facing a different monster. Some arcs will focus on the folks in the Cabin & some will focus on the staff in the base dealing with capturing monsters out in the wild or having to deal with them getting loose.

> A B&W tribute movie to 1950s monster movies is that actually is fairly serious & well budgeted. Builds up mystery & suspense for the 1st 3rd.

> Galaxy of Terror prequel about Captain Trantor surviving the massacre of the Hesperus crew by aliens 25 years before.

Pros!
> Back to being serious toned after the awful parody nature of 2, good amount of suspense.
> Probably the 3rd best mask design for Leatherface of the series after 03 & the original, none of the tranny implications.
> Viggo Mortensen is a very good side villain.
> Ken Foree (dawn of the dead) & the lead actress are solid.
> Decent to good score & music choices.

Mixed Elements!
> The cannibal family is well acted but none of them are as glaringly iconic/memorable as those from 74, 2 or the Sheriff in the 03 timeline.

Cons!
> Not enough kills.

Pic related also fits both.

(Pros)
> Solid killer design.
> Solid final girl.
> Very suspenseful extended chase sequences.

(Mixed)
> Opening found footage murder is extremely brutal and almost too realistic.

(Cons)
> Not enough on screen slasher kills.
> Ending is both mean spirited/bleak as fuck, throws out everything we watched up to that point & ruins the likablity of a major character.

two 19 year old girls ran across the street calling my name yesterday..knew them from work the year before.
should I have invited them to a horror cinema halloween special?
>>
Halloween plans are for attention-starved normies who need costumes and human affection to feel alive. I will be spending the evening in my natural habitat: hunched over a glowing screen, surrounded by crusty cups and the faint smell of something that may once have been a $14 sandwich. /tv/ is my kingdom. Stop laughing.
>>
>>224038952
If it was for a party yes, for watching movies only with you alone at home after 1 year? fat chance

I watched the original suspiria and felt like I should be high or drunk for this because the plot made sense but it was also nonsensical to the point where I wasn't sure if I was enjoying it outside of the visuals.

Didn't even get a script. Then there was a car that picked me up, and little did I know, but I get up there and the crew's almost gone. Everybody had gone. I didn't realize, but they had actually filmed the movie already."
woah that's sad

>>224038976
no, I mean a real cinema. I know a good one that'll have halloween specials on, it regularly plays original film reels of old films etc.
maybe I should go for a walk today based. on the 1 in perhaps 10,000 chance that I'll see them, or 1 in 1,000 chance I'll bump into others I've known and invite them.

Costumes are cool though. I love dressing up. My favorite costume is Edgar from Men in Black. Not a lot of people get it but I do a fairly good impression and when kids come trick or treating I give them fake roaches mixed with the candy and is always a riot.
>>
>>224039008
That's the poster for The Exorcist 3, is there a directors cut of 3? Or are you actually watching the first one? If you're watching the first one, I'd say watch the directors cut. Apparently the critical consensus is that the theatrical cut is better, but I think they're wrong.

filming stuff is odd. the ones making it all are only focused on finishing the whole and the elements that make it up mostly become lost in the midst of it.
i've only be an extra, and we were mostly just living furniture, while each of us personally wanted to be there on certain days for certain scenes or actors/actresses, the reality was them taking human props out of storage for days depending on what they wanted.
for higher level actors, I'd guess it is better but still the director/producer will just be thinking about the film and the personal wishes of the actor will be negligible. I think most of them just learn to deal with it and not take it personally otherwise it'd destroy your self esteem with doubt

I stopped acting because I all the roles I was getting were creepy guys but not the menacing type, it was more like the roles david dastmalchian gets. Of course these were all amateur or semipro at best so I wasn't making much money, I wouldn't mind if I was famous, but it did affect my self esteem because I don't like thinking that's how people see me just by looking at my headshot. Im not gonna say acting is as tough as working construction but I have empathy for them because it takes a toll on you're mental health

poltergeist 2 is good. the antagonist is interesting and scary looking. some cool shots. but a little more goofy. poltergeist 3 is fine and has Tom Skerrit and Lara Flynn Boyle but it's aesthetically stale, except for a couple interesting shots, and it's all takes place in a soulless highrise.

I like goofy movies and parodies, but for some reason this isn't clicking for me.
I think one issue is that they started with the students but now the sequence with the soldier is getting kinda lengthy. Too many characters. I'll try to push through for now.

I was dressed in a long black coat, freddy overhead latex mask and freddy glove, with a grey tshirt with a skull on it and dark trousers/boots handing out sweets over ten years ago.
had some children cry spontaneously when I answered the door, some ran away haha, some in their group refused to come near the door.
was the best Halloween I'd had since I'd been too old for trick or treating

no, it happens once every year or so, I'll bump into some girls I met before. so the odds are more like one in 500 or one in 800 - I just need to improve those odds by wearing brighter colour clothing, perhaps neon, and shirts with my name written on them so they can be sure it's me.

There's this dude called Toulon who has magic puppets he made for his lame-ass puppet shows until he gets killed by the Nazi's for being a magical heeb. Then in present day some paranormal investigators go to the hotel he was murdered at for a seance or some shit and all puppets come back to life the kill them. There's more too it than that but I've never liked Puppet Master so I've usually tuned out about halfway through.

didn't remember it was juden-themed. was always pretty lame, apart from the slug spitting girl doll would be my wife in real life.
doll-man is on the same level, think they had a crossover. some horror is such low standard it is awful, but somehow has a following.
ghoulies is half a step up, critters is another step up - maybe on par with hellraiser.
Friday the thirteenth is between those two layers and still pretty lame and low budget.
nightmare on elm street is another rung or two above those, and after that it starts being higher budget and better quality, but somehow often losing any actual scare or memorable factor.
near the bottom of the pile, only just above absolute forgotten rubbish, is corny crap like phantasm, which isn't even horror and just has a guy in a suit saying "BoooooooooOOOOY" a few dozen times. yet is still somehow seen as classic horror by crap-horror fans.
I'd put Dagon above phantasm, and that was 5/10.

that particular grammatical error was stereotypicallly synonymous with jeets 40 years ago, in fact even in the 60s.
look at old media with a head bobbler in it whether played by a man in shoe polish or not - they are using this form of the verb when it is not being appropriate sahib, the same is going for arabs and little middle eastern slave boys. it is being very obvious when they are using it incorrectly all the time.
the exception is if you are being german and it is being that you are not caring to be learning English properly beyond primary school sahib.
>>
>>224040368
Maybe it was the sequel that revealed that? But there's no other reason for a 1930's German hit squad to kill a random dude.

if you want some old-school horror anthology from England, try Hammer House of Horror series, there are of course 13 episodes. some good episodes, atmospheric, some a bit lame. mixed bag also.
does show you some of what England looked like in the early 80s before it was ruined as it was filmed on locations a lot. episode with Vincent price, another briefly has pierce Brosnan.

the point is you should be thinking like "maybe if i wear my attraction sign some girls might notice me when I'm having a random walk in the neighborhood".
you had the instinct to talk to them when you first saw them. you need to cultivate the instinct to be outgoing and social, and not cultivate the one that says "maybe if i just keep waiting something good will happen".
