Voldemort murders Lily and Jamesit's 2026 and most people still don't know how Harry survivedif Lily's love could save Harry then why didn't James' love save Lily and Harry both? It's because of choice.Voldemort murdered James immediately, but he gave Lily a choice to "move aside" but Lily wouldn't stop shielding baby Harry.Lily chose to die (or sacrifice herself to protect her son) which resulted in the curse rebounding and Harry surviving.>But Mr Anon, why did the evil wizard Voldemort give Lily a choice? It's simple, Snape asked Voldemort to not kill her. This is why Dumbledore said "you disgust me" to Snape because Snape didn't ask Voldemort to spare Harry as well.Snape was also the one who overheard the prophecy and told it to Voldemort not knowing the prophecy will make Voldemort hunt for the Potters. The extension of this happens on the night of May 1st 1998, when Voldemort gives Harry the choice to come face him in the Forbidden Forest to save the army of Hogwarts.Harry "dies" at the hands of Voldemort and after that, Voldemort can't harm Hogwarts students anymore.Hope that helped you guys.

>>224040077did you really just necro your own thread like that? fucking pathetic dude
>>224036638What I dont get about it is that it apparently took thousands of years of wizard history to find a bug in what is supposed to be the most evil spell, as if Lily's love for her child is surprising or novel. If Voldemort had just used a gun he would have been fine.
>>224040175>it apparently took thousands of years of wizard history to find a bug in what is supposed to be the most evil spell,if you are going to murder someone you're not going to give them a choice to step aside
>>224040191Yeah that seems pretty dumb. Wouldnt the spell just fall put of use entirely once the news gets out that the spell not only doesnt work but will backfire and kill you if you use it on someone who...is loved
You think JK does third input?
>>224040243>who...is loveddude it's not about loveIf Voldemort killed Lily as soon as he saw her without giving her the choice he would've killed both Lily and Harry
>>224040288Yeah you already said thatand I said it sounds dumb
>>224040175It wasn't a spell that people ever really used that much. It wasn't like banning guns, since plenty of non-forbidden spells could kill people just as dead. It was a spell that was powered by genuine hatred and intent, then causes material damage to a person's soul. And it was a sequence of events of someone trying to death curse one person, be saved by a loved one diving in front of the spell to protect the person being aimed at, and giving them a protective barrier, and then the person trying to spell again after the shine had been put on them, and having the spell rebound, and voldemort's soul was in shreds from making six other horcrux's which makes harry an accidental secret horcrux, which is a big reason why voldemort's plans always go wrong when harry is involved.
