Poorly. I tried rewatching it recently on the H&I channel and it just doesn't have the soul or style of Miami Vice. I watched about 6 to 10 episodes with decent IMDB scores before I gave up on it. The setting is inherently less interesting and stylish. The attempts at humor are excessive and generally don't land and its filled with trite 90s political correctness and identity politics that feels particularly insidious and misguided in light of what's happened over the past two decades.

You watching it wanting a throwback; but it feels oddly modern. Like its a show that modern Hollywood would produce.

Nash's car is fucking rad though and Don Johnson and Cheech Marin are both likable; but it just never really lands. Its like season 5 Miami Vice not Season 1 to 3 Miami Vice. It has its moments; but its mostly forgettable.

Nash's daughter is the only good part

I'm probably the only person on this board who prefers Nash Bridges. Don and Cheech make a great pair. I like the humor which was completely absent in Miami Vice. 90s San Francisco was a great setting for a show, they filmed everything on location and each episode had a big budget. It's sad that it's mostly forgotten these days.

Too many dutch angles and other weird 90s camera gimmicks. Made the show hard to take seriously. Also, always kind of felt like Don Johnson wasn't really taking it seriously and was just kind of winking at the camera the whole time. That's not necessarily automatically a bad thing, but it all felt kinda lazy.
