SamCap in a vacuum is fine.The Falcon & The Winter Soldier being the actual first pure evil woke project in the MCU sabotaged him. Brave New World was not woke but it was a unfathomable waste of time compared to all the other options on the table (pic related)Same thing happened in the comics, Rick Remender did a genuinely good SamCap arc and then Nick Spencer comes in and reality warps Steve into being Hydra, has villains saying Trump quotes, presents anyone against Illegal Immigration as being a murderer and turns 90s Cap ally Diamondback into a stripper to talk shit about classic sexy heroines but even all that did not directly tarnish Sam the same way "stop calling them terrorist" did.The later SamCap Symbol of Truth series was also pretty good and Sam gets the chance to BTFO Black Panther which was refreshing.
