He was a negro with a white mans spirit
>>
I heard this gets better on rewatches. What details are there that I may have missed or overlooked on first watch?
>>
>>224032034
Once was such a waste of time. I can't imagine people going in for more.
>>
>>224031561
What happened to the surfer guy and his cute asian gf? I know her head was in the fridge but how and why?
>>
>>224032034
There’s apparently an extended version. You should watch that.
>>
>>224031561
i don't want to change either

Got killed by the monster pirate. All that repressed anger and shit.
>>
>>224032047
That's how I felt, but some dude IRL was talking about recent movies he liked and I was trying to not shit on his tastes. But I think he just has different tastes. Eye of the beholder n all that rot.

>>224032059
You pulling my chain, anon?
>>
>>224032083
Thanks. The pirate was already there when they went to film the first time? I thought it came later.
>>
>>224032049
Bf got eaten by the backrooms pirate.
Gf got killed by the MC (so she wouldn't snitch).

>what if we took the scariness of being stuck in a nearly empty endless space that your mind screams should be full of things and have an exit and the horror is you dying slowly of dehydration and going mad as you realize no help is coming and got rid of all that and just made it a haunted house movie with a dumb looking monster
>>
>>224032118
With that being the case I don't know why the guy was surprised his pirate self would eat him
>>
>>224031561
Just saw it right now at my favorite pirate place. I wish I saw it in theaters it would have made the experience more immersive. Anyway this is probably the only movie I wish was 2 and half hours long. I just wanted to see more. That ending felt like such a slap to the face

Captain Clark was created when they filmed the commercial, as were parts of the backrooms we see during the movie (the tilted throne room, the tropical backdrop room). When the chair breaks and he falls, he violently lashes out. We’re only given dialogue about his past outbursts but it stands to reason most of the backrooms areas we see in the movie were created at times when Clark lost his temper (the Christmas room, the kitchen).

The man who coined the term noosphere (the hypothetical sphere of collective consciousness that enshrouds the earth) -Pierre Teilhard de Chardin- also coined the Omega Point. The Omega Point is a proposed point in the future in which our consciousness grows to such complexity and encompasses all of the universe - essentially becoming god. Similar to the technological singularity, but more biologically/theosophically oriented. Frank Tipler also provided mathematical proof for this potential future (contingent on the Big Crunch) in his book “The Physics of Immortality”. The show LOST was partly influenced by these ideas and the island itself was a sort of omega point. The Backrooms as well serve as a sort of proto-omega point in the process of converging with all consciousness. It represents not only our current psyches but also its future. We are destined to become nourishment for the world either through our physical bodies decomposing and returning our elements to the world or through our ideas and works that help develop the minds of future generations. Clark’s psyche created a monster because he resisted this future. He didn’t want to strive for the omega point. He wanted to sit in his furniture store, wallow about his past divorce and ex wife, while pretending to be a character from a bygone era and even holding back the development of the youth that worked for him. That’s why the monster attacked and killed people - it was antithetical to the Backrooms - where consciousness is memorialized and elevated. Mary’s ending may be ambiguous after her capture by the glowies, but the final shot that shows Mary’s memorialized consciousness is actually a happy and hopeful ending. It shows that regardless of where her life is headed, she will be one with the whole within the omega point.

Nope. It’s called Backrooms: Everything Must Go. It apparently got released to theatres pretty soon after the initial release and contains like 15 mins extra footage in post-credits scenes:

is that an empty room?!!!
>>
>>224031561
I'll be honest, the only point in this movie where I got the nostalgia-uncanny vibes the backrooms was literally made to represent was when the lady goes into the livingroom and there's a bunch of couches everywhere. Would love to just hang in that room. So nice

They need to make some more infinity loop set scenes, they look completely wack, like people getting stuck in parts of a hunted house or paintings, or mirrors, or cubes etc.

ITS A PLACE

EXCEPT ITS A PLACE

frightening stuff
>>
It was the best movie of the year, tied with The Sheep Detectives.
Just loved the nostalgic retro atmosphere.
Really nailed the thematically-relevant seductive comfort that was The Backrooms.
>>
>>224032152
Yeah the scale was off and there was too much furniture in the backrooms, though I did actually enjoy the film for the most part, it just had quite a different vibe.

He went insane in the Backrooms
>>

>Insane in the Backrooms
INSANE IN THE ROOMS
>>
>>224035060
The movie has some flaws for sure but
The one thing I loved about the backrooms was how sterile and neutral it was. Normally in haunted house movies the setting feels alive and hostile but the backrooms just sits there boring and unassuming and allows you to explore as much or as little as you the explorer desires

The real horror was divorce rape all along.

just watched the film
couldn't they just film more schizo architecture instead of doing >muh drama of two main characters? When people online were memeing
>Stay in character!
I was thinking that they were trying to hide from monsters by acting, not that the negro had a gay RP scene
>>
>>224037330
>hide from monsters by acting
*hide from aggressive monsters by acting
or, that would make even more sense, make them uninterested by staying calm or whatever

seriously, why the fuck could they not do something actually kino like that?
