My favorite part of the first Transformers movies is how they made it seem like the Transformers were just completely unstoppable, like each one is a one man army and humanity would have been fucked if there didn't just happen to be a few nice ones. Blackout storming the US army base is an incredible opening scene that perfectly sets up what these guys are capable of.Once you get to the sequels and humanity is just inventing their own robots and making anti-transformer nukes and shit it just feels weak. The transformations and designs just get lazy as fuck over time too. Like you can squint and kind of see how TF1 Optimus is supposed to turn into a truck and what parts probably go where, but then you get to the TLK Optimus design and his robot mode is just completely unrelated to his truck mode. They just stopped caring and you should too.
