ITT: comfy found footage kino recommendations for spooksgiving eve
>>224026959Probably the only found footage movie I've ever enjoyed. It's a shame the sequel is shit.
>>224026959For serious, watch Incantation. If you don't mind goofy, watch Deadstream.
>>224026959this was one of the worst movies I've seen

Deadstream is super comfy
Yo /tv/ is this show any good? 1995 version.
>>224027216Quality varies by episode but it eventually devolves into every episode being a clipshow recap of footage from previous episodes. Very strange.
>>224027291>devolves into every episode being a clipshow recap of footage from previous episodesuhh what
>>224026959the bayas above, so below
Ive found I tolerate mediocre horror slop a lot more when its found footage
HH LLC is kiiiinoooo for a found footage movieThe VHS movies are hit or miss, but they're great for a generally comfy buffet of found footage
>>224027315Basically they have some kind of thin framing device which is the only original footage (someone looking into a machine that shows the past, an immortal reliving its last life memories, aliens watching archived footage of recorded events) as an excuse to replay old footage so they don't have to spend budget filming anything new.
>>224026959The Houses That October Built 1, its both a documentary when it focuses on the real life haunts they go to and mockumentary when it goes into the Blue Skeleton stuff. Very nice movie for Halloween and kind of wish the second movie was better, they supposedly said they had an idea for a 3rd movie and filmed a (still unreleased) sequel teaser but they never revisited it, probably for the best because idk where they can go after the ending of the second movie.
Savageland
>>224027413>found footage>its actually found photos with narration over themPretty based and I think the execution was pretty good given most of the story hinges on the eyewitness testimony of the photos taken when everything went down but they ruined it with the spic stuff and muh racism angle.
>>224027500that's the best part though, everyone is exploiting the very real situation for their own personal gain.
>>224027385Thanks for the warning anon. I'll give it a shot one of these days
Love Hell House. Even liked the sequels well enough though I understand why many don't. I would love to see the director take a crack at something other than HH. His fondness for subtle spooks is very refreshing in a world of jumpscare faggotry.
Horror in the High Desert is pretty good. Not the third one though. The ending was such a boner killer.
>>224027535Normally id agree but the movie literally starts getting preachy about it and the credits has some eses posing for no discernable reason.
>>224027500NTA the racism thing was shown as off the mark nonsense by a grifter which distracted everyone and caused damage so I actually liked that aspect. The real problems IMO were some of the melodramatic cringe like the preacher recording, and portraying the POV photographer as some barely functional adult retard. His weird manbaby act was off-putting.
>>224027538No problem, friend. The earlier episodes before they started doing that range from dogfood to pretty good, so you'll probably find at least a few episodes you enjoy.
I like Leaving DC. I fully understand why some people hate it and think it's a piece of shit but I find it very effective because there's nothing occuring that couldn't be real (some people would say there's nothing occuring in this movie at all and they have a point). Also the MC is genuinely autistic which is kind of funny because usually the behaviour of people in thesed movies makes no sense but this guy clearly has a bunch of issues that explain why he's acting like that.
>>224027622Nah boring piece of SHIT movie
>>224027120The sequels are fine imo except for the last one where it wasnt a found footage movie anymore.
>>224027594I think thats fine, youd probably be fucked up too seeing a little girl get devoured by zombies and you cant do shit about it. I think the inconsistency on what hes filming and taking photos of is a genuine criticism however, even if its a coping mechanism or he wants others to see the shit hes seeing, it feels like the excuse is very flimsy.
>>224027622leaving dc is great and extremely funny when you look back at the events of the film.
Area 51JeruZalem
>>224027157You must be new to movies if this was the worst. That or shit taste.
>>224027337First 2 movies are good, after that its like for every 4 or 5 bits one of them is solid
>>224027413This sucked, I was really let down
