England is an enemy of /tv/ for giving Hong Kong back to China. This is what they took from you.
Those movies are always so much fun to watch. Is there a giant blu ray collection somewhere? Cause I can never find a good place that has all of them, hell Im sure I've only seen 1/2 of em at most. My favorites will always be the ones with fantastical weapons aka flying guillotine.
>>224025917modern cover work is so fucking shit
>>224025917Say what you will about the British, but they honored their end of the agreement. Can you see China ever doing the same?
>>224027834>they honored their end of the agreementtell that to the arabs
>>224026874Arrow and Shout have released these sets and more incoming.
>>224027949and the horror boxes
>>224025917I love HK cinema but honestly most of the shaw bros stuff is the same. Once you've seen one you've seen em all. And i mean that literally coz they re-use the same crew, the same sets, the same costumes, the same makeup, the same stick-on eyebrows/goatees, the same gigantic fake facial moles with a single thick black hair sticking out of them, the exact same plots etc
>>224028054*They were made as complete throw-away junk. Thrown together as quickly and as cheaply as possible to make a quick buck in theaters in HK (and San Fran's Chinatown) and then thrown in a bin once they were finished the standard 2 week run.
>>224028054They were basically shotgunning movies hoping for a hit or two, similar to Hammer studios.
>>224028054>>224028082It's wild to watch something like Shaw Bros' Holy Flame of The Martial World and realize it came out the same year as Jackie Chan's Project A (1983), it looks like a movie made a decade earlier.
>>224025917What's the last good Hong Kong kino? Infernal Affairs?
>>224027846Arabs aren't a civilized people, agreements with them don't count.
