What do you mean im going to have to work and just die ???? QQQQ!!!!
>>224023666Blackpilled episode. What were the writers thinking? I bet 10% of their nerd audience killed themselves during the credits
>>224024022
I never got this. Starting shit with a known chimp race twice your size will make you into a better man?
>>224024022Nerds needed to hear this. The old balding faggots were hopeless, but maybe some young nerds got inspired by this episode to turn their lifes around.
He was a crewman on the Starfleet flagship, which means he's the best of the best at whatever the fuck he does, and he's still not satisfied and thinks he's a failure.
Why is it that Picard can’t rise through the ranks? I guess that version of him isn’t seen as much, but he is not that Picard.
>>224023666I say this and look like this.
Wouldn't Picard have been happy being an archeologist anyway?
I only saw TNG for the first time in my 40s and that episode was fucking depressing as shit.
>just works there as a nobody and his colleagues dont know him anymoreomg hes just like me!
>>224024169It's never too late to change.
>>224023666so there has to be a guy in the main universe who has the job dream picard did, do you think picard just sneers at him whenever he sees that guy
>>224024142The point of the episode is that your mistakes make you who you are. Picard's youthful impulsiveness are what taught him to be careful and calculated.
>>224024142What made him a better man was his bold spiritGetting shanked in the heart is ONE consecuence of his bold spiritGetting promoted quickly was another
Why are star trek aliens so ugly?
>>224024218>Why is it that Picard can’t rise through the ranks? I guess that version of him isn’t seen as much, but he is not that Picard. He can. But I guess it's because of his age, and the fact he's not part of the command track. He's part of the science division. It's all very odd. We've seen Beverely become a Captain of her own ship in a future episode. But I guess Picard just doesn't want ANY ship. He wants the Enterprise and the flagship of the Federation.
>>224027054>We've seen Beverely become a Captain of her own ship>we've seen Troi outrank data and also command the shipThis was pure woke before woke was invented, it was just giving women more spotlight even if they were utterly unfit to command Troi was literally a career apparatchik, she gets command by getting pity pipsData saved the enterprise at least in 2-3 occasionsI would trust my life to Data to save the enterprise reliably one more time, before trusting a Beverly or Troi captain just because they have enough pips
>>224026181Yes it is lol. There's a very short window if you want a career in most fields. And if you miss it, you're fucked.
>>224027225>Data saved the enterprise at least in 2-3 occasions>I would trust my life to Data to save the enterprise reliably one more time, before trusting a Beverly or Troi captain just because they have enough pipsThe problem with Data was that he could be hacked and controlled by someone with enough technical knowledge. It happened like 6 different times during the TNG era.
>>224027225The ep where troi is disguised as a romulan and in command of one of their ships is complete bullshit.Up til that point all we've seen her do is-eat chocolate cake by the kilogram in ten forward-do yoga-take undeserved holidays-go for a lie down-dress like a prostitute while everyone else is in uniform-fail to read people's minds even though that's the entire point of her species. How many times does someone ask her what's going on with a certain suspicious person and her response is "i don't know but he is hiding something", no shit sherlock, we know he's hiding something, that's why we're asking you to find out what it is
>>224026216>do you think picard just sneers at him whenever he sees that guyNot if the guy is capable and content with his role, I don't think.
>>224023666The thing about this episode is that it’s Captain Picard in Wagie Picard’s body. Who is to say if that was the path he’d naturally followed, he wouldn’t be content as a science officer? Reverse the roles and Wagie Picard would have been terrified being in command. Q is a hack.
>>224023666>Four Que
>>224028556This is the answer. Autists cant understand different worldviews developing through life experience
>>224023666What episode?
>>224023666>50 years old>only a LT, JGgrim
>>224023666This is the episode I point to when people say Star Trek is against right wing politics. This episode about how horrible the existence of being a mediocre man is might as well have been written by Ayn Rand herself.
>>224028644Which episode is this? I wanna be depressed tonight.
>>224028644"Offspring" is a pro life episode. So is the one with the Exocomps.>>224028708Tapestry.
>TNG had tons of eps with elderly ensign/lower grade lieutenants in the background>this ep proves that Picard was disgusted by all of themThis is a great ep, but it hurt the Picard character.
>>224028733Thank you very much.
Picard is really just a dicksucker for rank and command. Whenever you hear him say shit like "I would rather just go somewhere and read a book or do some archaeology" he's lying. Doing that would mean he doesn't have the 4 pins on his shirt, nobody stands up when he enters a room, people aren't completely subservient to him. In theory Picard should have been very happy with being Junior Grade Picard. He would get to run science experiments, could flirt with Beverly without having the "I'm your superior officer" dynamic, read all the books he wants. But no.
honestly “command” kindof sucks. the stress at higher professional levels is not worth it i had a brief stint as an acting manager at big tech and it was fucking awful just being some dude who does what you’re told and then goes home on time is better
>>224024169>some young nerds got inspired by this episode to turn their lifes around.Picard didn't turn his life around in this ep. He just said to Q "I would rather die than work hard again".In theory, Picard could have said to Riker: "If you aren't going to give me an opportunity for advancement on the Enterprise, please send to someplace where I can advance. I don't care where it is". He probably would have given it to him.
it was all a fake even riker . thats not how riker would have been , it was all bs made up from q just to fuck with picard. riker would have listened to picard and helped picard.
>>224027225> at least in 2-3 occasionsat least indeed, Data saves everyone dozens of times. He is the most integral being on the show
>>224026216We already know. The guys name is Barclay. Picard didn’t sneer at him, he just felt a deep condescending pity.
>>224028889>riker would have listened to picard and helped picard.I disagree. The Riker we saw in "Lower Decks" is how he treats ranks below him. He was trying to chat up Troi when Picard interrupted him.
>>224028911maybe, i didnt watch lower decks. i keep forgetting to torrent more episodes
>>224028929It was a great ep. From the perspective of a bunch of ensigns hoping for a promotion. One of them approaches Riker to chit chat and Riker is a borderline unapproachable asshole who was downing synthehol at the bar.
>>224023666NON O NO NO NO WHY DID HE DIE THIS CANT BE HAPPENING
>>224028236And troi could get a crush on "the good looking guy of the week" like she did 3 time per season
>you have to be le bold risk taker to be a success>even if those risks are meaningless and retarded>living a normal life is worthless and you should commit suicide if you're not a captain or higherSome great lessons taught to us in Tapestry. Truly boomer coded and non-applicable to modern life.
>‘Tis better to have loved and lost>Than never to have loved at all.Was he right?
>>224028908barclay was in engineering
>>224029031William Shatner said that not Picard

You watched Tapestry too when you heard the news? Watched The Visitor when Tony Todd died.

>>224029031Unless you’re making babies or medical supplies, the most important thing most of us make in life are memories

>>224029506The one where Shatner dies and Stewart lives?
Watching Mortal Coil when Phillips dies.

>>224029547It still feels like an ending for Picard, somehow. Maybe it's because the ship gets destroyed
