Series coming to an end is natural.
>>
>>224020174
Friday the 13th has copyright issues
I imagine Elm Street has similar problems
>>
They are 80s horror movies and they died in the 90s. If anything they overstayed their welcome. Universal horror movies ended, Hammer movies ended, it's only natural that 80s slashers should end.
>>
We have Art and Obsession girl now, unc.
>>
>>224020718
no actually elm street is like the one slasher franchise that didn't have a million companies jumping on board, every film was produced through new line cinema which is owned by warner bros which is owned by paramount

there was no retarded lawsuit that split ownership of the franchise between a cuck and a dead man
>>
>>224020849
then I imagine one major issue is who to cast as Freddy
They tried replacing Englund once already and it didn't work, and he's too old to return
>>
>>224020889
robert has said he will gladly do freddy's voice for an animated film
there's some weird kind of social media campaign going on now for actors trying to play freddy, they all suck though
>>
It always bothers me when younger people are so used with modern media being nothing but rehashed stuff based on decades old properties, that they actually beg for more of that.
The dead horse has been kicked so much that the carcass is gone but pleeeease bring back the corpse so you can kick it some more! It's the only way things can be made!
>>
>>224020174
To be fair, F13 blew itself out decades ago, and so did the Nightmare series which should have ended with The Dream Warriors.

Finally another anon gets it.
This is also why almost every band starts to suck.
>>
>>224020174
Maybe its time new monsters were made?
>>
>>224020751
>Universal horror movies ended

no one's ever really gone
>>
>>224021341
That flick was utter dogshit.
>>
>>224020751
>Hammer movies ended
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammer_Film_Productions
>In May 2007, the company name was sold to a consortium headed by Dutch media tycoon John de Mol, who announced plans to spend some $50 million (£25m) on new horror films. The new organization acquired the Hammer group's film library of 295 pictures. Simon Oakes, who took over as CEO of the new Hammer, said, "Hammer is a great British brand—we intend to take it back into production and develop its global potential. The brand is still alive but no one has invested in it for a long time."[3]

It's just an observation Ranjeet
>>
Just wait for the copyright to expire, and you'll see the slashers flood the VOD market.
>>
>>224020718
The problem with Elm Street is that Robert Englund is retired and there's no one else that can play the character.
>>
>>224021447
there is no copyright, a CCL means anyone can make shit
>>
Why did horror movies stop being sexy? They used to have tits as much as gore. Now there's no tits, and the gore feels blase and artless. Oh look, that guy got cut in half and those sure are some fake guts spilling out. Yawn.
>>
>>224021486
Haha just had a horrible thought. They dump metric tons of cash on Robert Englund to come back and he does, then we get the frail elderly Freddy Krueger we've always craved.
That would be hilarious. I hope it happens.
>>
>>224021515
Again, basedllenials and zoomzooms

>Gen X kike trying to stir the pot
I see you.
>>
>>224021706
>I've been found out!
I'm late Gen X/GenY whatever the fuck.
Gen X is pretty fucked up too, but the thing about Gen X is the neverending obsession with the past.
>>
>>224020174
>"horror"
>look inside
>not scary at all
How are slashers considered horror? More of a thriller really

I wonder why.

>Why did X stop being sexy
Fixed.
My guess is that now porn is so widespread and mainstream that zoomers get offended when they find pron in their soup.
>>
>>224021818
>the thing about Gen X is the neverending obsession with the past

Got anything better, man?
>>
The best horror movies are old. FACT.
>>
>>224020174
the '09 one has one of the funniest awkward sex scenes ever
>>
the legal issues is just one thing. really they couldve made another one years back but they didnt want to keep doing them. then one year a different horror film flopped and they got cold feet. nobody knows what theyre doing
>>
>>224020174
Be happy Jason is in legal hell and they can’t make a movie I’d be woke trash. Look at shit Crystal Lake and them not allowing tits and ass.
>>
>>224023249
Yeah, the 09 movie did well, they had a sequel in pre-production, then the Nightmare on Elm Street remake (rightfully) flopped, so they put the F13 sequel on hold then the rights issues cropped up.

Personally I think the issue with the 00 remakes was aping the grimy aesthetics of the Texas Chainsaw remake when they should've started leaning into the comfy 80's nostalgia for F13 and NoES.

why do you IP worshipping goyslaves keep thinking that superficial things like that matter

its a movie board/
what matters then, tell us
>>
>>224023310
Nightmare remake was kino and didn't censor what Freddy actually did to the kids unlike that cuckold Wes Craven.
>>
How much can you really do with guy in mask kills people
>>
>>224020174
zoomies are deathly afraid of picking up phone calls from unfamiliar numbers, initiating conversations, and handwriting essays. there's no need for masked serial-killers and gore.
>>
>>224023458
the quality of the film not that they attached a recognizable guy in a mask to a script that had been waiting for funding for 5 years
>>
>>224023523
the next 4chan meme horror franchise will be

Doesn't work anymore because you can just put it in the magic AI machine.
>>
>>224023596
no the horror comes from not having access to AI
>>
>>224023636
Why not?
>>
>>224020174
Friday 1 barely was about Jason tho moron
>>
>>224021486
Yeah this is true. I do think it's possible that they could resurrect it with the right guy. I could not tell you who played Freddy in the remake which most people just pretend never happened
>>
>>224023490
Freddy being a child molester is unironically just a step too far for most people, being a child killer is more than disturbing enough. For the same reason there's almost never been any rape in horror movies throughout the decades despite the 80s and 00s going hard on gratuitous nudity. Freddy is supposed to be scary but he's also supposed to still be fun to watch if that makes sense.

This is something that I find some horror fans struggle with understanding because they believe these movies should be an endurance test but most of them weren't and aren't supposed to be that extreme it just sucks all the fun out and becomes too depressing. Despite the aim of the genre to make you feel negative emotions there's still a balance to be had, and not every horror movie wants to be A Serbian Film or Martyrs and I say this as someone who thought Martyrs was a masterpiece but it's not the kind of movie I would want to rewatch like Nightmare on Elm Street is.
>>
>>224020751
>They are 80s horror movies and they died in the 90s.
even if they continued to make new movies they wouldnt be any good. just look at the awful new halloween movies or the new elm street one. just awful and nothing like the ones from the 80s
>>
>>224020174
Do you really want the zoomer generation making shitty A24 versions of these characters with no sex and everything being a metaphor for getting periods or fighting the manosphere?
>>
>>224020338
Yes yes, jump through the hoop you programmed soulless shell.
>>
>>224023490
I think what pissed me off was how they tried to make Freddy look less like a monster than he did in the originals. In those he was clearly a child killer and possibly even a child molester as well. 100% an evil monster. In the reboot it's almost like they are saying that maybe the kids were exaggerating just how much Freddy touched them and that maybe he didn't even do that at all. They tried to make him look like a fucking victim or imply that his death was wrong. I swear to god there was some MAP shit floating around in that production.
>>
>>224021341
>Those things parading as human
You fucking took a look at that shit and say GOLLY GEE WILIKERS BATMAN LET'S WATCH THIS HECKING KINO BRAH!

Fucking faggot

Just imagine how awful a Jason movie would be today. Be tranny as one of the counselors, but they won’t die. Final girl will be an ugly mutt. No nudity except male ass cheeks. White male counselors will be all evil chuds and die gruesome deaths. “Incel” would be constantly used to describe Jason
