I watched Encounter at Farpoint last night. What did you watch in honor of Our Guy?
>>224019814As I've already said in the main thread about him, I'd rewatch First Contact, which despite not being an amazing Star Trek film is a solid action sci-fi film, a film which actually manages to make Star Trek more "Hollywoodish", contrary to what JJ Abrams cooked up in the late 2000s. I like it and Our Guy was at the top of his game in it, an intense and powerful performance despite not being the best written iteration of Captain Picard.

Green Room (2015)FUCK Star Trek in all its formshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8XSARX3DQg
>>224019814first episode I watched and it got me hooked
>>224019894Hell YEAH! That scene is the epitome of hollow "Hollywood epic talk" but it's so well-written and acted that it gives me goosebumps. It's completely out of Picard's character and it would be more suited for someone like T.E. Lawrence, but again, the writing and performances make it worthwhile. Also, didn't Jonathan Frakes direct this film? For a first timer he did one hell of a job I must say!
Inner Light was his best performance in the show.
>>224019999>Hell YEAH! That scene is the epitome of hollow "Hollywood epic talk">It's completely out of Picard's characterYou've almost got it
>>224020123I do get it, but I still like the film. It's not at all a good representation of Trek or Picard but it's the best Trek-themed action slop, it's a good commercial action sci-fi film that just so happens to have the Star Trek characters in it. Wrath of Khan was very actiony as well and more hollywoodized than the OS.
>>224019814The erotic bakery skit he did on SNL.
>>224019936Picard and Dathon, at El-Adrel. Shaka, when the walls fell.
>>224019814Jon Luck Pikerd' gets to spend eternity with Q
>>224019814I watched Star Trek: Generations. Patrick Stewart was a good actor.
>>224020869....and that crash scene...wowzers! Some of the best effects in the series
>>224019814I watched this masterpiece:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msifGnZinYA
>>224019814I'm seriously thinking about watching all of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT back to back but it may impact my sanity
>>224019814I watched the episode of American Dad where the CIA upper brass thinks Bullock has dementia. In hindsight it probably wasn't an appropriate episode to watch.
>>224021069That reads like sarcasm. Yes, I enjoyed the film, but yes that scene did go on too long and didn't look at great actually, but oh well, it got the point across.
>>224019814I'm watching Star Trek: Peak Hard
>>224019814Nothing. He let his ego run rampant and we got Star Trek Picard out of it. He lost his 'our guy' card.
>>224021105Do it anon. And you better not leave TAS out of your watch. You will feel great by the end
As a 44 year old man I find it hard to care about any celebrity death. Yeah I watched Star Trek. Who cares? It is just a tv show. Guy wasn't a hero, just acting for a living. He was good at his job. I'm a good little accountant. So what.
I watched movies where women have all their clothes fall off.
>>224021276*that great>>224021307Why can't more of you compartmentalize?Did you know that there are only:>three Indy films>three Star Wars films?
>>224021361Did you enjoy anything he did? If not, fine, but if so, consider that he helped fill in some space in your life.
>>224019814didn't watch shitinstead i watched an old christopher lee film called the devil rides out, it was kinofor patty tho i did listen to his narration on the nightmare before christmas soundtrack, always a good time
>>224021373I can. But you're talking about honoring the actor and the actor was a shithead.
>>224021418>and the actor was a shithead.Everyone is a fucking shithead. Welcome to Earf.
>>224020869Generations had the best cinematography of all of the Trek films.
>>224021392Yeah I liked most of his stuff, but again it is just meaningless entertainment. Now that we know he did Star Trek: Picard while suffering from dementia it all makes sense.
>>224021434Easily. The used too many lens flares I recall from Nemesis, which sure isn't great. Insurrection was a decent episode that they clearly disguised as a movie, and well, I like First Contact. I don't care that they changed the Borg.
>>224021435Everything is meaningless. Even the Bible says that.
>>224021435>Yeah I liked most of his stuff, but again it is just meaningless entertainment. Not all of it's meaningless, but that's up to you, it's fine.>Now that we know he did Star Trek: Picard while suffering from dementia it all makes sense.Well of course! All it took from me was his interviews beforehand. Getting older sucks.
>>224020272>They left together.
>>224019936Pepe, his face smug.
>>224019856I agree. It's weird to me how much shit people here give the TNG movies. Like it's a movie of course it's going to be way more action oriented than some of the more tame problems they had in the series
>>224021561Why do they have to reference everything? That time when Ben took a dump.
>>224021596>Ben, his ass spread
>>224019814I watched the first half of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and I'll finish it up tonight
Roddenberry, his vision shipwrecked.
>>224019814Nothing, I dunno what to watch. I watched all of TNG too recently. I've got basically no experience with Shakespeare outside of Kurosawa adaptations so I might try his Hamlet. Someone told me to watch Masterminds but it seems like a kids movie. Another friend wants to watch Excalibur but it doesn't seem Stew-focused.
>the penis and asshole>yes but what does it mean.
>>224019936Incel his post on 4chan.
It's sad that his last film will be capeslop.
>>224019814Lifeforce. That scene when hes possesed by the vampire chick is comedy gold.
Our local Star Trek club is watching a Halloween marathon of Star Trek: Picard while we give out British candy to the trick or treatsrs..'ave a toffee lad.
>>224021398>instead i watched an old christopher lee film called the devil rides out, it was kinoBased. Watching it tonight. Double bill with Wicker man.
>>224022299Turkish delight.
I watched his best performance of his career, in the dub of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, as Lord Yupa.
>sticky didn't even last a dayFuck this gay ass board
>>224022299Why would you watch that trash?
>>224023665I watch for she
Watched Allegiance last night. Will probably watch The Inner Light tonight.
>>224019814>inb4 porn parody
>>224021593The argument never held up because 2, 3, and 6 are also fairly action heavy and movie-ish and both are pretty universally liked, so being higher-action clearly isn't the issuethat said, first contact is still the only good TNG movie, the rest are meh at best.
