He killed movies

He emboldened pathetic seething nerds just like him who think whining about your headcanon being wrong is legit movie criticism.

They're YouTubers you mongoloid.
>>
>>224018947
they didn't understand that Lucas made Star Wars for 12 year old boys
they enjoyed episodes 4-6 as young boys
now they're cynical adults and can't enjoy episode 1-3 because they can't realize they're not the target audience anymore
>>
>>224018987
They're lying, to this day they still worship JJ's dumbass but they have to keep quiet cause they know people will tear them apart
The RLM illusion is fading and people finally see how retarded they were
>>

>21st century "movies"
it was euthanasia op

no that problem is that that the OT established the setting as fairy-tale like. the details of the politics didnt matter. the imperium were just oppressors
in the prequels he tried to explain how democracy ends but he doesnt really understand anything about the subject.
so george lucas ended up ruining the fairy tale nature of star wars for a nothingburger
>>
Woke killed movies. RLM killed movies. CGI killed movies. Everyone's looking for an answer, but can't see the forest for the trees.
>>
>>224019252
First film had a political scene with the Empire talking about dissolving the Senate, managing bureaucracy, the presence of the Sith in the percieved ranks of the Empire, multiple opinions on maintaining power and the danger of the Rebellion, etc. Other political hints appear throughout the film. ESB has Lando dealing with the Empire to save Cloud City and eventually evacuating it. RotS has talks of the Emperor managing the bureaucratic structure of the Empire.
The Prequels understand far more about the nature of politics than most other films. Also, Lucas had the balls to portray the Hitler equivalent as delusional and believing his good, basically being on the same angle as Downfall was which was extremely controversial which is why it was ignored. Most people are too fucking retarded to understand the basic shit the Prequels talk about.
The Prequels also add a lot to the fairy tale angle, from the Prophecy to the conflict between Jedi and Sith to the birth of hope and love. It's literally written like a Shakesperean play.

can someone please post Mike's braphog gf. Thanks

CGI still sucks
>>
>>224019359
has he ever addressed why she stopped showing up?
>>
>>224019431
just speculation. I remember some people on their discord thought the details might show up in discovery during the civil lawsuit, but apparently you have to do a real FOYA request or something to read the document, and no one has done that AFAIK
>>
>>224019426
Lucky for you the Prequels are actually half CGI half practical effects
CGI isn't even bad, it's always been a shitty excuse from people who didn't like the film regardless. How convenient nobody complained about the ST which is literally pure CGI, no location filming or real maquettes.
>>
>>224019468
Decent bait but I still won't bite
>>
>>224019468
People who complain about cgi are millennials, Xers, and boomers who grew up back when practical effects were being used and cgi was just a gimmick or novelty. Think guys like James Rolfe who always complain about how cgi is the devil. It's basically an "I didn't grow up with it, so that makes it bad!" mentality.

Point is, the sequels are fucking awful irrespective of them using cgi or animatron unless you're a salty old timer.

got to give it to the rlm/prequel schizo, his life must be impressively empty.

All deliberately vague and surface level. Vader and Emps were generic tyrants the politics did not delve any deeper than that.
>The Prequels understand far more about the nature of politics than most other films.
they certainly did not understand how democracy dies undermining the meaning of the whole project
>The Prequels understand far more about the nature of politics than most other films.
your saying so doesnt make it so im afraid
>Also, Lucas had the balls to portray the Hitler equivalent as delusional and believing his good,
i dont think he understood hitler at all. i dont think you understand hitler at all. nor all the jew-hating morons out here. hitlers primary political goal was to restore german independence. that this goal was only to be achieved with the means he chose was the source of his villainy
star wars and indiana jones expose the absolute surface level understanding of the real world of lucas and americans

Yeah, 12-year-old boys love to hear about political trade embargoes and bureaucratic filibusters.

>All deliberately vague and surface level. Vader and Emps were generic tyrants the politics did not delve any deeper than that.
You're a retard lmao. "Generic tyrants" when Star Wars was very clearly trying to have a political connection as a layer above its main archetypal story, We get explanations on how the Empire treats the galaxy, their beliefs in control and desires, their structure and bureaucracy and it isn't "vague and surface level" unless you ignore whole parts of the movies and only pay attention to the explosions and shit.
Lucas always wanted the OT to be partially critical of modern politics. As far back as the OT he was already calling Palpatine Nixon, he designed the Empire to be a mix of America, the British Empire and Nazi Germany, he made the forest battle in RotJ a clear parallel to Vietnam, etc
Vader and Palps also had far more depth than you give them credit for although they were greatly expanded in the PT
>they certainly did not understand how democracy dies undermining the meaning of the whole project
Except they did. They show how the Republic and Jedi's complacency and fear of dealing with external chaos has led to them lying to themselves about living "a thousand years of peace" and becoming stagnant and corrupt, ruled by others willing to take the reigns through corruption. Palpatine arrives, a revolutionary believing in his own rules, and stages a fake conflict following a real one which creates enough paranoia to get the masses to follow him. Soon enough, the galaxy is selling its freedom for "security". This is what men like Hitler and Stalin did.
>hitlers primary political goal was to restore german independence
Wrong you fucking retard. Was Hitler restoring "german independence" when he invaded half of Europe and started pushing racial laws that weren't just for kikes but other Europeans? Hitler was a German supremacist who pushed for Europe to be rules by Germoids
Also, Indy isn't even that much about them

JJ directing is more than fine. It's his writing that's a problem.
>>

JJ doesn't even fucking understand SW
He has routinely claimed he only likes ANH because he liked it when he was 10, he doesn't like any of the other OT films let alone the PT. That's why there are so many references in TFA and TRoS to ANH but not the other two beyond copying their vague outlines. His first line in TFA was shitting on the PT and he kept begging to be able to add Jar Jar's skeleton somewhere.
But the funny part is he doesn't even UNDERSTAND ANH. He doesn't even know what planet Leia is princess of or what the Empire wants. It shows he hasn't watched a SW film in over a decade
So no, he sucks at directing, he was a major lead in the ST sucking balls, and saying he should have directed the Prequels can only come from the mouth of the most braindead retards in the planet, IE RLM who literally show in their own reviews how fucking stupid they are.
>>
the prequels are still awful, you're not going to change anyone's mind.
>>
>Star Wars was very clearly trying to have a political connection as a layer above its main archetypal story,
yes, generic tyrants
>We get explanations on how the Empire treats the galaxy, their beliefs in control and desires
generic tyrants
>, their structure and bureaucracy
yes, centralization with governors acting as de facto counts. generic tyranny
>unless you ignore whole parts of the movies and only pay attention to the explosions and shit.
im beginning to get the sense that i am much much more intelligent than you
>As far back as the OT he was already calling Palpatine Nixon, he designed the Empire to be a mix of America, the British Empire and Nazi Germany, he made the forest battle in RotJ a clear parallel to Vietnam, etc
and thats what happens if you have american education. do you think that guerilla warfare in forests, including traps, is a unique vietnam experience. do you think he made this mix because that is his surface knowledge of history? do you think it was good enough because this surface level politics is all the black and white, fairy tale story didnt need more?
>Except they did.
except that's not how democracy dies unless you're as retarded as lucas and/or have the same american education
>this is what men like Hitler and Stalin did.
i am saying this in all earnesty, not memeing: you cant be possibly this retarded. if you unironically believe this you are absolutely totally and unequivocally beyond salvage.
>Was Hitler restoring "german independence" when he invaded half of Europe a
of course he was you fucking idiot? what do you think lebensraum im osten was about? it was about acquiring the resources necessary so that germany couldnt me laid siege to and starved out like they were in ww1.
i wont dive deeper into that, i will just say this: your reading of history is indiana jones, it's laughable and you have not understood A SINGLE thing of what happened in europe in the first half of the 20th century
>>
>>224020154
>im beginning to get the sense that i am much much more intelligent than you
As expected from a Plebbit retard like you. Go get more "media literacy" as your kin say
>do you think that guerilla warfare in forests, including traps, is a unique vietnam experience
It doesn't matter if it is an experience anywhere else. Lucas was specifically criticizing Vietnam which was a major issue when the OT came out. This is something he has confirmed in every other interview he's ever made.
>except that's not how democracy dies unless you're as retarded as lucas and/or have the same american education
Yes it is and you're a dumbass
>it was about acquiring the resources necessary so that germany couldnt me laid siege to and starved out like they were in ww1
OMG LE POOR GERMOIDS NOOOO
Now I see I'm dealing with a wignat retard who thinks Addie H was actually le poor guy trying to do the right thing and the rest of the world is bad for calling out his bullshit.
I'm not going to indulge in this nonsense further. Please do us all a favor and kill yourself ASAP. Thank you.

>>
>>224020238
>Lucas was specifically criticizing Vietnam which was a major issue when the OT came out
here's why I think you're not very smart: it doesnt matter. the way lucas filmed it was generic and therefore a former french resistance fighter could see in it the way the french fought off the nazi's tyranny. exactly like that? no but the ewoks also had no firearms (nor elaborate tunnels) so it wasnt specifically vietcong on screen either. it was generic underdog guerilla warfare. and thats why the basic idea works. the realization is flawed as everyone knows.
>Now I see I'm dealing with a wignat retard who thinks Addie H was actually le poor guy trying to do the right thing and the rest of the world is bad for calling out his bullshit.
so you're getting BTFO'd and have to erect strawmans because thats not what I said nor implied at all. but... if you dont understand
>it was about acquiring the resources necessary so that germany couldnt me laid siege to and starved out like they were in ww1
you dont understand either ww1 nor ww2. i recommend you start here

and draw your own conclusions regarding lebensraum im osten. hitler was still a vile criminal but it's important to understand the causes properly

Greentexting is not an argument.

>>224019252
>the details of the politics didnt matter.
They were there, though. The imperial senate is in fact dissolved in the first act of the movie (off-screen). Princess Leia begins the film as a senator. Imperial officers argue with Vader that holding her without cause is dangerous due to her status. This status is rendered obsolete, announced to the audience as such in the same scene where Tarkin explains the ~political~ role of the Death Star as a means of maintaining control. While not deep or detailed, it's clear that at least some reasonable level of thought went into implementing a galactic-political context to explain the motivations of the warring factions in the story.

>>224019344
>The Prequels understand far more about the nature of politics than most other films
Rather trite comment because most other films don't include politics at all. When compared to other movies featuring political intrigues, it's not especially impressive. The prequels are mediocre on content and hamfisted on presentation.
>Most people are too fucking retarded to understand the basic shit the Prequels talk about
No, the problem is the Prequels treat the audience as retarded and portray the simplified political dynamics with the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
>>
>>224018987
I'll never understand why they dunked on a movie being set right before a new hope for having the same vehicles as the original trilogy but praised a movie set 30 years later that did the same thing
>>
>>224023228
Trapping the sequels in the imagery of the original trilogy was an unreal bad decision in such a deep way its insane. It wasnt immediately obvious but its definitely part of why their toy sales were so bad. Everyone already had stormtroopers and x wings for toys and kids into star wars for damn sure already had Anakin's lightsaber. Never giving the main girl her own lightsaber was an unbelievable decision. Like its actually insane they did that, they really couldn't give her the yellow one immediately? They couldn't just have her find that in the desert in the first movie?

A huge reason to buy her toy, just gone immediately.

>JJ directing is more than fine. It's his writing that's a problem.
I would't be as vociferous as the other anon, but it's really both. I think TFA could have been greatly improved with a good writer and an executive producer with a brain. But JJ Abrams has always been Michael Bay Lite, and wouldn't under-estimate his ability to fuck up someone else's story.
>>
>>224023283
Nobody would have wanted a Reysaber because her character was awful through and through, whereas every other saber I can remember was either attached to a character that people liked or simply had sufficient cool factor
