>>224014380I really do miss when the writers were clear fans of horror and sci-fi and wanted to make genuinely spooky stories with the characters with bits of dark humor sprinkled around and not just gratuitous violence for the sake of it. Really helped that they were often quite good at telling adventure stories with the characters in general.

>>224014380I watch the old Treehouse episodes every year around Halloween but this year I decided to start with the newest one and work my way backwards. As someone who hasn't seen a new episode in 15 years I just have to say holy shit, it's so fucking jarring. None of the characters sound the same and the animation looks wrong. That being said I actually enjoyed a few of the episodes I've watched so far. The covid era episodes are definitely the worst out of the bunch, did they really need to have everyone wearing masks?
