JJ Abrams and pals entire job is to destroy sci-fi and fantasy legacies.
Ending basic mythologies for the slave caste.

That rich out of touch little queen killed the Picard character and helped burn the star trek brand down.

Stewart was a shitlib even before he got demented. Dementia is a progressive condition. Picard S1 was what prime Stewart would have wanted.
That means it wasn't Stewart who forced third season Picard to overhaul everything and git gud, it was Star Trek's fans who forced it on the show and on him.

Actually, Mark Hamill only signed on to the sequel trilogy because he thought George Lucas was gonna direct it. And it too Harrison Ford to convince him to sign up. Then Lucas sold Star Wars and the contract to Disney. And as such, Hamill was bound to Disney.

His work on TV was legitimately good where you can do the mystery box shit that pays off over the course of the series, but it doesn't work for movies where people shouldn't have to read a comic just to find out some dumb fun fact about Shlub Bingo that explains why he sacrifices himself to save his nephew.

enterprise was moslty pretty lame, but at least it tried to have some of the positive star trek idealism. That positivity is just GONE after that show
>>

Tis true. "Star Trek" became "Dark Wars" after Enterprise, except for Strange New Worlds, so I hear as I've seen but a few seconds here and there.

Absolutely true. DS9 introduced Section 31 and while it was pretty harmless at the time, it was basically used again and again to show that the Federation is evil at its core. Like there's nothing even wrong with the Federation having a secret intelligence program, but maybe it shouldn't exist when some evil guy keeps taking their super secret weapons for a joyride.

So much of Patrick's bullshit creeped in and ruined a lot of Trek.

What about his constant forcing of crap like "acting", Shakespeare, and putting on plays for Data and shit? I NEVER thought of this shit as Picard the character, rather I always found that fourth-wall breaking bullshit of "Fuck, we have to keep Patrick happy" from the producers.

All of that faggot shit was from a faggot actor the producers tried to placate so he wouldn't storm off to his trailer week after week.

Patrick Stewart forced everyone he could (writers, producers) into ruining Picard (Starship Captain, incredible Diplomat), into what Patrick Stewart:

Was: (actor, Shakespeare enthusiast, interested in plays, philanderer)
Wished he was: (action hero, bigger philanderer)
What he wound up being (Humiliation Rituals! Sheer Fucking Hubris!)

You could see the sheer horror on Mark Hamill's face when his character was ruined. Patrick Stewart forced his character into destruction at every opportunity he could find. When I heard the news that he'd died, I couldn't bring myself to care, as a long time fan he'd self-destructed ages ago.

Okay, I'll bite!
I'm assuming you've seen STTNG before the Picard Series? Even the films?
So, you're familiar with the character, right?
Saved the Earth from the Borg Invasion
Saved the Universe from a few Time Loops
Saved Humanity from being snuffed out by a bored Q
Resolved the Klingon Civil War
on and on and on.
He's.......done pretty good for everyone, hasn't he?
So, just ONE of those exploits alone, nevermind the totality of how many times he's Saved The Day, should have prevented him getting dressed down by that Starfleet Admiral for his "Sheer Fucking Hubris", would you not agree? What hubris has Picard every exuded to begin with? Has he not been tested relentlessly and passed numerous times to count?

Anything short of telling that Starfleet Admiral that his "Sheer Fucking Hubris" was what kept her from speaking Borg is just a humiliation ritual. One that the actor felt the need to put his character through as the condition for bringing him back.

>>224018029

For the time he absolutely was.

You know why I'm calling it headcanon? Because there's zero evidence for anything you're asserting. The only argument you could make is for the TNG films where Patrick Stewart was on record for wanting a dune buggy scene in it. It's been over 30 years, you'd expect at least some comment from somebody about him insisting on shakespeare scenes in the show.

People shouldn't say "fuck" in a Star Trek program, that's low class.

Modern day cinematography, set design, direction, and acting is such horse shit. How do people tolerate it?
>>
>>224020683
Only TOS and its movies are canon :3
>>
>>224020705
It really is, and Picard himself says it several times, too. He should be above that. He's a man of culture, he usually swears in French.

You don't think acting and theater are good practical skills for a diplomat? It's all about voice and emotion and manipulation

I wish I could ignore them, but the fact they exist and they butcher these characters makes me too angry

Patrick just making whatever shit makes him more likable not less. He deeply cared about his fans so much and willed himself to get out of bed with all these horrible illnesses and just be who we wanted him to be and give us more adventures. The evil writers used him as a meat puppet to push The Message but his original will and intent was to give fans more of his characters to make their lives a bit happier. He even made sure to gut out a final appearance as Professor X.

For that he rules.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Picard were so, so bad. Especially Season 2, with the bullshit on Earth in the modern day. Cheap, bad writing, the whole deal.

Season 3 got a lot of praise but it wasn't necessary. They had the baggage of the first two shit seasons so they had to have those characters (the drug addicted nigger lady, and captain Pedro or whoever the Mexican dude was that no one cares about).

Yeah they brought back the Next Gen cast and found a way to get back on the Enterprise D, but by then the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. The part about Picard having a grown son with Crusher was just stupid.

Fucking LOL at Janeway.

Hey, we're stuck in the Delta Quadrant. It'll take us 90 years to get home at maximum warp. Should we fucking get going toward Earth or what?

Janeway: Nah dude, let's just fuck around and mosey along at a leisurely pace and stop at every fucking planet we fly past and see what these jerkoff aliens are up to and get involved in their disputes that have nothing to do with us. No hurry!

Janeway fucking SUCKED dude.
>>
>>224021582
And then season 3 does exactly what the previous two seasons do and drags out a single episode plot across four, they spend like four episodes in that nebula fucking around with the changelings. And then of course the mystery box plot and constant red herrings. I hate streaming TV so much it's unreal

>>224021635
Voyager had to stop all the time for supplies. They had to find their own Dilithium ffs...
>>
>>224020916
Anon fiction by default doesn’t exist. You have to make a mental allowance for it to be “real” in the sense that it exists at all. Meaning you can simply not grant that mental allowance to things that are bad. You already do this with fanfiction.
>>
>>224021635
You know as a non star trek fan this reads like some crazy homeless man on the J train rambling Lol

>mosey along at a leisurely pace
Warp travel isn't free. Warp 9.9 is like flooring it at 130 mph in a Altima. Warp 6 is like going 70.

Some of the writing could have been better, but there was no guarantee that Voyager would have survived using the Caretaker array to go back home so soon after they just barely survived its first use. Everything after that is the show.

This. I keep a special place in my memories that there are only three Star Wars films and while it's too bad that there will never be any more, we will always have the originals.

But then sometimes if I feel I want to dump more Buck Rogers into the cake that makes Star Wars, I watch the prequels.
>>
>>224021841
I love the setting of the prequels, the galaxy before it went to shit
>>
>>224021946
It was supposed to be the galaxy already gone to shit and being made worse because sheev is smart and everyone else is dumb
>>
>>224010646
It wasn't the beginning of the end retard it was just the end, what the fuck came after it? Doesn't mean it was good but it was still Star Trek you retarded chimp.
>>
>>224010686
Literally just fuck off
>>
>>224008777
TNG after the first season isn't Star Trek. It became a literal show about literal spaceships and space history that don't exist, pointless entertainmentslop.
>>
>>224019320
This Anon has a High IQ. He nailed it why STTNG's Jean-luc Picard accomplishments made him a top-notch man for any of his single notable actions, let alone the many events he came through as a hero. Give this anon an award !

Kurtzman and JJ trek were just examples of lazy people without creativity shamelessly ripping apart the previous heroes because they are third rate writers and story tellers. The Critical Drinker on Youtube said something like: Star Trek is a show made by geniuses, handed over to idiots.
