>>223997270Jim is the self insert for people living life on easy mode. Jim gets to be wildly successful and get everything he wants despite not putting in much effort. He gets what he wants just for being charming and goofy. While the hard working office members are made to look silly for taking it too seriously. When in reality the weirdos that keep their head down and take their work seriously are the ones that accomplish things, while the goofy comedians stay in entry level jobs. Overall Jim’s character supports zoomers getting the “ick” for hard work and dealing with reality. They even make a subtle nod at this when one of the new managers doesn’t like Jim and he basically falls apart because he can’t rely on Michael’s affection to carry him through the job. He completely fell apart performing simple tasks because he was forced to adapt and make a change in his cushy life.
