Malfoid would be just as verbally and socially bullying early, but leave out some of the more egregious stuff Draco does. Harry should have either enacted Total Slytherin Death and disbanded the house in the end, or enabled some sort of redemption arc where they come around to the side of good after having some deep introspection about what it means to be one. Instead Rowling pussied out from any hard moral conversations and just locked them up during the final battle.

She maybe gives a vague hint to Harry, but after that completely ghosts him because she's afraid of getting too attached, leaving him somewhat heartbroken.>Third task happens, Voldemort returns, Harry sees that her dad is a death eater but he can't confront her because Malfoid pretty much avoids Harry completely.
