that's every season. There are no stakes. There is no character development. Matt just looks like a moron each season
they have him dead to rights at the end of season 3 and Fisk is... made Mayor for his troubles
which forced the writers into a corner killing the show
if Fisk is allowed to be Mayor it means Frank was right and Matt was wrong for not killing him at the end of season 3 which completely defeats the purpose of that season's themes
the writers tried their absolute best to just distance themselves from the Netfix show instead of trying to continue it with Born Again
you can tell because Dex suddenly wants to be a good guy
Dex who was paralyzed at the end of season 3, took up Vanessa's offer to kill Foggy in Born Again season 1, now wants to be a good guy because... well it isn't really explained why

Born Again obviously suffered from the original idea that it would be a series of stand-alone episodes. They should have just done that with S1, with Muse lurking in the background to serve as the season's "over arching" villain. Bring Bullseye and Kingpin back for S2 and take your time with it.
