A Bloodborne movie about the initial discovery of the chalice dungeons and the old ones would have been a piece of cake to make entertaining bevause it already inherently is but some shit as mundane and boring as Elden Ring lore has no bidniz being an entire movie. I was already more than sick of it by the time I finished the fucking game almost five years ago and it’s the only Fromsoft game I have no desire to do another play through in or experiment with builds.

The same drive for knowledge and power that fueled the inhuman experiments in the fishing hamlet also drove the church to wipe out the Cainhurst family because they will not tolerate any 'competition' for the secrets of old blood. As the church grows more powerful and influential, Maria for her service before is given the Research Hall as both a reward where she can try and make amends for her regrets but is also her prison because if she tries to leave it the executioners will inevitably come after her, its only by being under the church's thumb that she is allowed to survive.Driven to despair by her work and having increasingly terrible nightmares about Kos and the fishing village, Maria eventually takes her own life... and the last scene is her waking up and realizing that even death cannot free her from the weight of her sins and she's trapped in her own version of hell.
