I prefer low quality over high quality so I can pretend I'm stilling living in the 90's/00's and didn't waste the previous 15 years of my life. Now guess why I'm on 4chan.

>Willis spoke with a stutter.[10] He attended Penns Grove High School in Carneys Point Township, where his schoolmates nicknamed him "Buck-Buck".[12][13] Willis joined the drama club, and found that acting on stage reduced his stutter. He was eventually elected student council president. He graduated from Penns Grove in 1973.[11]
Idk man it sounds like he was more likely to be the target of bullies. The tough guy act is just a product of growing up in New Jersey.

It's easier to have school bully vibes later in life if you've experienced bullying as a child.
It's like the flu. The bullied becomes the bully.

Same, I've had a few genuine heroes in my life.
Bruce Willis, Rik Mayall, Slash, James Dean Bradfield.
Rik Mayall's death really hurt, those other three are the others that'll be genuine grief.
>>
>>223986500
why is Bruce your hero?
>>
>>223986728
I was a kid when all his best movies came out. He was the underdog, the everyman.
I love Arnie and Stallone movies but they were always invincible supermen. Bruce was always more relatable, always the reluctant hero who'd really rather be doing absolutely anything else than being a hero but it just falls on him and by the end he's exhausted and covered in blood.

My dad was a loser manchild alcoholic pothead boomer, so I kind've collected mentor/aspirational figures to fill the void he didn't fill since I had surpassed him as a man by age 10.

I had a good Dad. Also a wise one. He told me this after watching Die Hard:

>You know what makes this a great movie? A great character. These other guys making action movies are playing modern-day Hercules, modern-day Achilles. John McClane is modern-day Ulysses. He’s not the toughest, not the strongest. He wins by using his wits and wanting it more, by not giving up. Not everybody can be a Hercules, but anybody can be Ulysses.

>>223993307
this anon knows.
Bruce did "hard boiled stranger" perfectly. My favourite take on the Yojimbo/Red Harvest story. I love that adorable hooker who kept talking about pointless foid shit while they were banging, the opening duel, the fact we never actually find out who he is beyond "John Smith from back east who needed to lie low in mexico for a while" who when told by the villain he wouldn't shoot an unarmed man in the back, he replies "done worse than that."

absolute noir/western kino.

Same. Action is pretty awesome and Radha is fantastic. The uncanny makeup job they do on everyone is downright fucking award-worthy. Great concept. Totally underrated.
>>
>>223982198
>>223993334
Have you seen Bandits? It's never discussed. Billy Bob and Willis buddy comedy but it's fucking incredibly well shot, almost Japanese Mannesque in spots while the humor is Last Boy Scout or Tango and Cash. Bandits has one of the funniest unexpected endings too. Its release was fucked by 9/11 iirc. Worth a look

I hate that we'll never get a Willis ensemble Inglourious Basterds or that he never played more Elmore Leonard type roles like in Pulp Fiction. Hate on Tarantino but he really understood Willis and vice versa.
