The series has always been a let-down for me, and the show's manner of self-importance along with the plaudits it receives dispose me to look harshly on it obvious shortcomings. Critics love this shit because it pushes the right buttons (big lesbo episode, interracial relationships everywhere, one episode is written by a jeeta and is all about racism in 1970s Britain, etc), and they don't seem to care if it's mediocre-to-bad in other departments. I had more fun watching trashy sci-fi like the Ray Bradbury Theater and the 90s Twilight Zone than I had with the midwit sermonising of Black Mirror.
