Which is the most perfect area in south America? As you get older you realise going to boiling hot places isn't as fun as it's made out to be. Where isn't hot, not rainy, has good food, decent history and culture, has natural sights?Does it exist?
>>2916550Medellin
>>2916558Colombia? You must be having a laugh
New Mexico
>>2916550As you get older you don't want to be around brown stone age midgets, garbage and shit infrastructure south America loses its allure
>>2916564Kek but in this case I do, as I've never even been on the continent of south America. The fact we still have cavemen alive today blows my mind. People are only nonchalant because it's easy to meet one but when they die out there will be a million YouTube "documentaries" about them and kids see them like mythical and mystic creatures they just missed out on>>2916563Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't seem appealing for my mind of trip
>>2916567New Mexico is>not boiling hot>not rainy>has amazing food>decent history of natives and spanairds>tons of sightsOr by "culture" do you mean uhh the whores are cheap.
>>2916569No, sorry I just see Columbia and Mexico as tacky places. Also just a mix of everyone and not cultural at all. Even though you prove me wrong in your comment
>>2916550not many options that fit your criteriaflorianopolis - not too hot, fairly rainy, culture's OK (compared to everywhere else in Brazil except the southern 3 states, they aren't as warm and friendly but it's safe and developed)mendoza - good climate, not rainy, great food and obv wine, right next to the Andes. but it takes a while to get to and might be expensive nowadayscusco checks your boxes too, it's not too rainy and lots of history and indigenous culture. similar to Sucre and La Paz in Bolivia but the food isn't nearly as good (much cheaper though)bogota might be a good one for you too, idk\central chile has mediterranean climate but history/culture is meh, also expensive and not that safeavoiding hot & rainy places in south america limits you a lot. i think larping as a gaucho in southern chile (especially Aysen) would be good fun but it's rainy and cool to very cold year round. that's where i'd want to be in case of a nuclear war, at least
>>2916567>when they die outDude it's the humans that are dying out
>similar to Sucre and La Paz in BoliviaSo why did you skip over Bolivia? That a place that's always intrigued me
>>2916595Kek
>>2916550I was gonna go to Ecuador or Colombia this winter, but i joined some expat Facebook communities and called a few travel agents to gather intel.Apparently if you leave the cities in these countries to go hiking in the woods, or just go outside at night, there’s like an over 50% chance you get robbed, kidnapped, ransomed. So they’re like “you gotta hire a cartel member for tourism protection and guidance” And then they have the balls to say “we are SUPER SAFE! Just don’t go out at night and don’t wander off into the wilderness or neighborhoods that are not downtown”Like… oh that is super safe, yeah I visited Argentina and Uruguay which were clean and safe, but they just felt like Italy or Spain, but waaay further of a flight and not much cheaper, with worse beaches.Brazil has a few very scenic beach towns that are safe, affordable and tropical such as Itacare, but they are far from cities. And again the plane tickets are so expensive and far away, to deal with such a dog shit third world country infrastructure, bad food, dangerous and unpredictable…So I think I’m just gonna go back to AsiaAsia is easy, affordable, modern, minimal bullshit, safe, etc.If you want a chaotic adventure, go enjoy South America. But if you’ve traveled to enough shitty places and you don’t want to do it anymore, I’d avoid the entire continent.
>>2916626That's insane, and infuriating too. We need to go and just wipe these people out. Slaughter them like animals. I used to think this until I saw Bald go to Venezuela which is supposed to be the worst, and go deep into neighbourhoods, so recently I started thinking it was all exaggerated. From what you're telling me most of these places are bad
>>2916626>I visited Argentina and Uruguay which were clean and safe,>but they just felt like Italy or Spain, butNone of those countries are clean or safe
>>2916630They are if you compare them to the rest of South America.
>>2916627Yeah, Montanita Ecuador is very nice looking hippy beach surf town, but to get to it , you have to land in shit hole Guayaquil and take a gamble for a bus or uber or taxi or car rental and not get robbed on the road to Montanita. What’s ridiculous is it’s extremely Catholic… you’d think people with Jesus would treat people a bit better.Fucking taco niggers don’t have any respect for their fellow man.
>>2916627Not to mention, some of my most enjoyable and memorable moments in Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore have been at NIGHTTIME , stargazing on the beach, wandering bars and shops, leaving the cities out to the nature and exploring the countryside without a single worry.Traveling to South America eliminates this unless you are in some very gated niche area, or you’re very cautious, etc.
>>2916550Lima, Peru?>>2916564Rich boomer suburbanites and car-centric mallslop is what I don't want to be around. >>2916561Colombia is famous for its extremely mild temps. >>2916569New Mexico is a fucking oven for half the year. You'll hardly find a single household without A/C in the state. It also gets horrible windstorms. Landscapes are quite bleak, with so much forest burned up by massive drought-induced wildfires. But it does have tasty food and hispano culture in the north. The south is just poor man's Arizona.
>>2916626Urban development is better in Latin America than many Asian countries. Spanish is easier than Asian languages to speak like a local. Just look at HDI rankings for the countries you are considering. WiFi is faster here, beautiful plazas in the middle of every town, sidewalks are the norm on all city streets, tap water is drinkable in many cities, bus service is modern and comfy, food quality is better at restaurants, girls are sexy and not merely cute. Robberies are a risk, that's why you have to be able to act like a tough guy and not be a clueless dork furiously texting his ladyboy crush and ignoring his surroundings until his phone gets snatched. In Asia you can safely ignore everyone around you. Not here. I'm glad that after three travel seasons in Asia I have returned to the Americas.
>>2916714> urban development in Latin America better than Asia> wifi is faster in Latin America> tap water drinkable in South America > bus service is modernBro, do you just enjoy lying or have you never been to Asia before?- the reality is literally the opposite of everything you said unless you live in some niche rich gated expat community and you never leave it.
>>2916714> urban development is better in South America than AsiaYou’re a dumb nigger and you shouldn’t be allowed on the internet.
>>2916714Latin America is a crime ridden poverty shithole. 98% of the people that live there want to emmigrate
>>2916768>>2916766he's talking about India and Thailand, not east asia
I'm a farmer and seriously consider reclaiming one of the colonial era estates. No tourism, no drugs, just a lot of hard work and building
There are some I've seen in Brazil near the Venezuelan border.i doubt the Venezuelan refugees will bother us they are mostly going into the cities and FARC units might stay the night but so what there's nothing to fight over. The soil seems awful but it's mineral rich, its an irrigation issue. Pump the water up and the aquifer replenishes it. You would have to get finance for replanting trees, that would have to be a state backed fund. But you would run a 5:2 forestry to log old growth forest for replanting. You get your wood, the locos get their money, locals keep planting trees. Wood is free money.Accommodation would be chit, pay upfront, credit for days clocked on. Locals could live in the white man's hotel for doing the same work they couldn't get before. Interested in intercropping of cannopy fruit. If it was in wood lots, the fruit was pig forage, you ship hams down river its worth.
>>2916600mostly because OP wants decent food and that's something you're gonna have to forget about in Bolivia. however, being so cheap means it's trivial to get fresh ingredients and have someone prepare them for you, so in that way it's the opposite of, say, India, where you get delicious slop that slowly kills you. just don't expect to be wowed by it, that's all.it should intrigue you, bolivia is cool, I was there earlier this year and enjoyed my trip a lot. would i want to stay there long term? eh, i'd rather cough up a bit more for non-BA argentina and actually have some decent women and food around. >>2916714some of this is BS and you're just feeling the excitement of being in a new continent and culture, but there's a lot of truth in here too. locals are afraid of crime but it's easy to avoid, almost everywhere. what I like most about latin america compared to Asia is that you can actually integrate, not just getting past the language barrier but the people there are more likely to accept and appreciate your presence. you, anon, could move to Puyuhuapi or Cochrane in southern Chile right now, buy a bit of land and become one of them in a short time. but you won't. neither will I lol but it's fun to know that you could if you wanted. not so in Asia
>>2917228Damn, a perfect place really doesn't exist. I am OP and Bolivia would be great but you're missing half the experience without great news dishes to try, of just enjoying meals out in general. What makes their food so unappealing? Are they just too simple as people? By the way Brazil is actually another one I'd never go to, I put it in the same category as the other two. Now I promise thats it.
>>2917228>buy a bit of land and become one of them in a short timeThis is true, but only because you as a person will no longer exist, you will be consumed by the natives. Your kids will look like squatemalans your grand kids like (shudder) Bolivians
>>2917239>I want to go to South America>but I don't want to go anywhere in South America because eww it's South AmericaWhat kind of fucked up logic is this?Just go to Costa Fuckin' Rica already and quitcherbitchin.
>>2917281What kind of drugged out moron wants to go to costa rica?
>>2917281I also want to go to South America for the landscapes, climate and wildlife. But I don’t want to deal with retarded spics trying to rob me every opportunity they get, and live in a house that looks like it was made of garbage and debris.I don’t think that’s too hard to understand?
>>2916550Chile
>>2916594>cuscothe altitude is a dealbreaker, and although op didn't mention it, it's worth pointing out the women there are particularly unattractive>>2916709>Colombiaop also said good food so Colombia is out>>2917284delusional boomers
>>2916550Anywhere in the Los Lagos region of Chile is perfect. Perfect climate, kind people, little crime, mountains & lakes. The problem is that It's not much cheaper than the USA. At least based on my experience eating out, meals at restaurants were almost american prices everywhere.
>>2917286>>2917286Why are you replying on my behalf? You weirdo. Get out.And make your own thread
>>2917290Want to elaborate?
>>2917520I was loving your comment until it came down to the cost of things. What a shame. Thanks anyway. What the hell makes it so expensive?
>>2917530It's one of South America's most developed regions. I was only a tourist there however, so I don't know how expensive it would be to actually live there. This is just based on food prices.
>>2917532Ok I didn't know that. Far from an ideal place then, so no loss
>>2917303It seems like this is too hard or doesn't exist. How about somewhere that is hot but just not too hot, not the best food in south America but just decent, a satisfactory amount of history and culture?
>>2917546It doesn't exist because of south Americans. Try japan
>>2917547Get out silly woman
>>2917553>disgust
>>2917557It's every woman now
>>2917560London? Yuck, looks Armenian, shudders uncontrollably. Seriously try japan
>>2917527Im engaging in discussion, don’t sperg out over it.
>>2917303Picky autists usually like bland food. Colombians have good meat, they just don't drown everything in spicy diarrhea sauce, so meals are kind of dry. Some of the smaller towns in the highlands are quite safe. >>2916768>sidewalk, shoulder, lane markings, streetlamps, bus sheltersWe're talking about functionality, not aesthetics. There are tons of countries in Asia that don't have any of these improvements in the poor slum areas.>>2917284Costa Rica attracts some of the highest quality tourists of any country in the world. Cute white girls who want to look at sloths and swim below waterfalls. You get 180 days on arrival, making it easy to find a rental and settle in. There's still shitholery here, but it is only in a few parts of the country. Here in Tilarán many houses have no bars on their windows, and some don't even have a fence or gate. Few places in Latin America are safe enough for such precautions to be ignored. Of course, C.R. is not part of South America, and it does rain a lot here in rainy season, but it is one of the most pro-US countries in the region.
>>2917533Why would it not be ideal for somebody as picky as you just because a basic lunch is $12? You'd go crazy with all the annoyances of life in a Thirdie tier part of the continent.
>>2917239All I'll say is, looking for the perfect place, job, woman, whatever and never finding it has been a literary theme and cautionary tale for centuries, for a reasonthe food thing is probably your toughest thing to satisfy here, so it should be your first filter, granted that you actually care about the quality of food you're eating as well as the taste. it's not easy to find somewhere with good food that won't make you unhealthy, either fat or with serious internal problems that grow without your knowledge. i wouldn't trust most of the 3rd world for that reason alone.>>2917240obv true for central america and the andes but i clearly said southern chile which has plenty of white people. puyuhuapi was founded by germans IIRC. ya won't find many tall blondes worthy of agartha walking around but there's plenty ladies of most or all spanish descent>inb4 that's not whiteyeah yeah sure sure>>2917303the altitude is fine after a few days and it keeps the temps down. maybe that's not for you but I thought it was nice. agreed on the women, but for a short stay you could just hit the pub crawls and pick up some euro chick who's finding herself
>>2917530keep in mind that touristing there is nothing like living there. in summer, everyone who's anyone in Santiago spends at least a week in Los Lagos so everything is priced accordingly. int'l tourists in Chile have steadily increased and that's high season for visiting the southern cone too so yeah. there is a separate economy for locals and many of them get by on less than a grand a month, not possible in the US. but it does seem like a rip-off compared to everywhere else in S.A. except Uruguay>>2917546easy. buenos aires
>>2917628>puyuhuapiYour example of white people in Chile is a tiny village.
>>2917632yep, the town is the walled garden of chilean Whiteness and everywhere else is full of Based 4'10 Mapuche Chads spearing each other over grubs
>>2917616Not because of the cost, even though that's not good to hear. I mean because you describe it as modern. I'm coming from London, I might as well stay here in that case
>>2917628I know it's never going to be perfect but the gripes I posted are all extremes, I just want them toned down or up a bit. I guess a happy medium is something that's too much to ask from this continent. Good quality food would be amazing but it's just a holiday, I'm looking for tasty dishes to bring a bit of extra joy to my days
>>2917630Buenos Aires sounds very unadventurous. I'll look into it just to not be ignorant though
>>2917700I spent a few weeks there.I was downtown and in El Tigre , spent some time in island cabins too.It feels like you’re in a second tier European city in Spain or Italy. There’s no beaches, just a port. The shoreline is mostly rocky or swampy. The architecture looks like an average city in Europe, the food is all Spanish, Italian or German. What I’ll give it credit for is- most people are white and conservative, you don’t get harassed endlessly as a tourist like you do in other shitholes. Steak is very affordable, I’m recommend buying your own from grocery stores as you can get high quality ribeye and picanhas for under $5 with massive avocados the size of your head and a massive selection of cheese and fruits.I visited over 10 of the top recommended steakhouses and I ordered medium rare or rare steak everytime, and they kept bringing out beyond well done steak, to the point I had to start telling them “I want it bloody and raw,” and at which point they still just brought out a well done steak. So I don’t know why they like their steaks cooked to a burnt crisp, so I just make it myself lol.The cafes are nice, they have a Paris vibe to it.Honestly it just feels like Europe In 1960s before the niggers and Arabs took over and ruined it.
yeah probably Lima, Peru. No hot at all, mostly. Has a huge variety of good food and u can go to the outskirts of the city, there r mountains and nature stuff. Js avoid dangerous places like SJL and ur good to go lol
>>2917712This sounds like hell, how was this a recommendation? I might as well just delete this thread. And everyone being white is some kind of plus for you. Bizarre. Never thought Benidorm boys lived in /trv/That doesn't make sense anyway because it supposed to be full of black people like most of south America
>>2917747>white people aren’t a positive> black people like most of South America…Actually… you know what, maybe you should go visit the Amazon jungle and integrate with the local tribes since you’re a nigger who doesn’t enjoy civilization.
>>2917699for what it's worth, even cities like la paz, sucre, medellin, etc that aren't known for their food will have upscale restaurants with good value. worse than going to some hole in the wall grill or tiny italian restaurant in Argentina, but it's still decent and will work for a short time.>>2917700there's adventure to be had everywhere in latin america. you can get into strange situations just by talking to random people because they're so open, and find yourself in random places. cities and countryside. one of my favorite things about the region and why i keep coming back. >>2917712how was el tigre?
>>2917766El Tigre , the city is basically the same city as Buenos Aires.Like if you’re familiar with Toronto’, it’s like going to Mississauga. Technically a different city, but it’s all the same urban sprawl.Anyways, El Tigre being on the edge of the sprawl along some water canal, it’s an exceptionally scenic city.It has very colonial European style architecture. The streets were clean, people don’t really talk to you or pay attention to you if you’re white.I wandered around at night with my girlfriend plenty of times to random bars to drink wine and eat empanadas or steak or ribs, we never felt unsafe a single time. We strolled around many of The suburbs of el Tigre , they also feel middle class, upscale, classy. It’s a nice place.Lots of cafes, outstanding baked goods. We then rented those stilt cabins you see on Airbnb which kind of look like luxury tree houses, and a guy with a boat can take you out to them for 5-10$I stayed in this exact Airbnb in the screenshot
>>2917766That's the same for a lot of places if you have an open mind and are social. I'd still rather go somewhere more fitting
>>2917777sounds cozy. never heard about going there when I was in BA, which is a good sign. nice digits>>2917848sure, you could do this in India or China but you face a much different culture doing weird things like staring you down and not realizing how uncomfortable you are, or just not caring. latin america often feels like a more childish, playful version of southern european culture. close enough to relate to, far enough to be novel. less complaining and more enjoying the moment. for long term I like it. I speak spanish and portuguese fluently, but with enough of an accent that people notice (on top of my blonde hair, blue eyes), which makes for a good conversation starter
>>2917694Yeah there is an element of globohomo in modern construction. Can't speak for Chile as I haven't been there yet. But lots of people enjoy predictable modern convenience with a touch of local character. Plus side is it's summer when Londonistan is cold, so you can enjoy two summers a year if that's your thing.
>>2917777>The streets were cleanDoubt
