Her outside feels like a costume, with a short layer of soft fuzz, large red stitches made of a yarn-like material, and the only parts of her outside appearance that feel organic are her eyes and mouth. She's mute by choice, but speaks when worn by using her wearer's cadence. Her insides are soft pink flesh that looks like a plush lining at first glance, but definitely looks organic upon closer inspection.When someone wears Lapp, they're technically becoming possessed, falling into a deep sleep while Lapp does her thing. Lapp is drawn to people who are distressed, and tries to help them by getting them to wear her so that she can read their minds and get a feel for what's ailing them. She can keep someone inside of her for about nine hours, before it becomes uncomfortable, and has to spit them out. The wearer interprets Lapp's actions as a particularly vivid dream from Lapp's perspective, and a bit idealized to obscure the...messier details of Lapp's typical way of fixing things. If you've ever read The Mask, think of a PG15 version of the Big Head Killer. Lapp's methods are chaotic, and very direct in a way that tends to dance around common sense. It usually just works out, somehow.For example, if she found a woman who was distressed that she couldn't confess her feelings to her crush, and Lapp somehow convinced that person to wear her, she would proceed to sprint directly to that person's house (assuming they were close enough), break into their home, pose """seductively""" while vomiting out the wearer's true feelings turned up to 11. The wearer would see this as a very romantic encounter where she finally works up the nerve to tell the person she loves them. The next morning she wakes up in her own bed, thinking it was a dream.Art by a cool anon.
>>86193895The "works out" part is, surprisingly, the most mystical aspect of it. Despite Lapp's deranged methods of doing things, the wearer seems to always have their wish fulfilled in some way. Using the previous example, the person Lapp """seduced""" would pick up on some familiar notes in what Lapp was saying, and start thinking of the wearer, maybe thinking that maybe the wearer was also feeling like this in a less insane way. So then they'd seek out the wearer later and try to initiate a relationship. It's nuts, and makes no logical sense, but "it's magic & I don't have to explain shit".Also Salt and Cold Iron are Lapp's weaknesses. The latter jolts her like a live wire on contact, and the former stops her from crossing it. Parts of her that touch salt directly go limp if she's "empty" or give control over to the wearer if she's being worn. The worst case scenario is Lapp somehow getting completely salted while wearing someone. If that were to happen, the wearer would immediately wake up while wearing Lapp, interpreting the rabbit's body as her own. Lapp, in this state, can't do anything other than mentally nudge the wearer to take her off as soon as possible...which may be difficult since the wearer has suddenly awoken as a giant rabbit monster.

Lapp works like a cryptid in her setting, often lurking around the backalleys of cities, or in parks at night. Despite her goofy look, her "genre" is meant to be horror so, like she's scarier than not in-universe.Alice is a blogger who was depressed that, despite her many attempts at researching paranormal activities around her town, she barely got any leads and her blog was more of a journal of the local rumors than anything.Then one day, she wakes up in bed. She's sore and she just had the strangest dream of not just finding a cryptid in town but actually getting chased by it. She goes to her laptop and finds several articles that definitely read like her work....if she were three sheets to the wind and wearing oven mitts while typing. The camera footage is worse than the worst shakycam and barely keeps anything in frame or focus, but it's enough that she can kind of trace her steps. This reveals a path of destruction , from destroyed fences, claw marks everywhere, a stop sign seemingly ripped from the ground and used as a bludgeon, and all sorts of other things that eventually lead her to a gas station that she likes to visit to drown her sorrows in cheap soda.After a LOT of convincing aimed at a really tired clerk, she was able to find herself on the security footage. Before the camera feed cuts, there's a single frame of some massive rabbit-shaped thing approaching her.So now Alice thinks that Lapp is the monster that chased her, last night. The reality is that Alice was wearing lapp, and lapp took her stuff and got footage (bad footage) of several actual creatures in the dark parts of town, and they chased HER instead.I don't really have a concept for her appearance aside from the mental note to NOT accidentally clone April O Neal and make her blonde.
