A thread for RP in the world of Harahel, a world of fantasy, magic, and adventure. Drawing on tropes from RPGs both east and west, fantasy literature, and anime, the setting is constantly in flux, decided in large part by the players themselves.
To join, download the CYOA through the link and create a character. When making a build, try to include some information about your character if you plan to RP besides just the build. Optional of course, but it encourages others to ask questions and talk with you. The only expansion pack we use is the Imouto Expansion.

(Feel free to choose any; if seeking something more traditionally combative the Reaper Witch behind the Broken Circle gate is your best bet, followed by the Chainsaw Witch behind the Broken Knife and Fork gate. The Nuclear Witch is the 'weird' option behind the tentacle gate. Lupanaria, Estate, and University are more lewd adjacent. Hag Witch behind the briar gate is much more traditional witchy shenanigans.)

    >Anna's transformation provokes the gas lamps to flicker, coal gas flames dimming for a brief second that plunges the group into shadows swallowed by the ambient darkness. Alice's magic appearing as hellfire gives them a brief moment of clarity, shadowy figures moving across the windows of the facade with the smallest hints of light reflecting off their eyes. Emily and Alice, both with truesight, find there to be a strange effect of the lack of light feeling and looking more like a matte, greasy substance, malleable and thick yet immaterial...
    >Cloying.
    >Alice's Mark spell sets without trouble. No enchantment or spell moved to frustrate her attempt nor did any trick of the space render it useless. They'd be able to use it simply and effectively.
    >As if responding to their choice, the massive doors of the university creaked open, just a little, as if demonstrating that it was open to them. Wind stirs the late-autumnal trees, the limbs of wood quite alike the sound of the door but surrounding the trio on all sides. With a flash in a window, the harsh BZZZ of a tesla coil sounds through the courtyard before again turning silent.

    >The unlikely trio before the Lupanaria's gate idling without yet breaching find a sound gracing their ears, soft and warm and airy and sweet. It's the sort the three would certainly recognize: the hushed gasp of one being filled, stretched. Desire, a subtle seduction composed of a promise, seemed to try to pull them closer, to push past the gate...

    >The tree reacts appropriately, high-fiving the snake and roots made up of arms beneath the mud reaching up to let the snake-body down. The gate still exists behind them, but looks now even taller, as do the trees that seem to curve inwards towards the sky and the land that seems to curve with their every step, expanding outwards while their forward movement seems to only ever cover the same amount of distance. Indeed, should they look on either side of the gate, they'd find the orchard extending indefinitely, the gate itself vanishing entirely should they turn to its back, emerging back into existence only when she seems to cross some vague line.
    >The forest itself is shrouded in a low mist, the scent of fallen leaves and spiced apple combining with the earthy scent of mud and moss and the strange hint of hay, however vanishing. Moonrays seem to fall, their body illuminated by the flowing mist and leaving speckled patterns through the hands and arms that crossed and conjoined to form the canopy. Every few minutes, a low pulse sounded from all around the pumpkin-headed bundle, a heartbeat that occurs with a slight twitch along every limb in the orchard after a few seconds. The epicenter was, of course, the mansion. They cannot quite make it out, not from here, not with the forest seeming to grow impossibly tall and reaching over, but the direction of the heartbeat was unmistakable.

    >Running hastily into the Lupanaria's Garden, they see ghostly apparitions, lit by lanterns casting strontium-hued light into their semi-corporeal, shadowy echoes. The garden itself is rather simple, thorny rose bushes and pavilions with cushioned chaises and beds beneath and flanked by tables covered with bottles and glasses, each only a sip in volume. Two fountains flank the entrance proper, one bearing purely feminine iconography, a sapphic kiss shared with spouts of water framing them, two more faces of women pressed against their derrieres in a passionate display of oral service. The scent of cinnamon joins with rose petals and musk and the heady, sticky must of marathon sex as they journey deeper into the garden.
    >Turning a corner, they finally see what looks like the entrance, a woman clad in a form-fitting red cloth from the neck down painted with black runes that shifted with each glance, as if counting how many times someone's eye was drawn to the details faithfully rendered through the cloth, whether it be her slightly-inverted nipples, the slight puff of her belly, the clean lines of her ass to the cameltoe that can be seen so plainly through the glass pedestal she stands behind. A veil of black covers her face while a quill is held in her hand, pressed against a parchment scroll.
    >Despite her face being covered, you get the sense she's smiling at you. A chill passes through your spine.
"Come, my dears. You have to sign to indulge.~"

Undeterred from the challenge ahead, and seeing others depart through their own gate, Sol pushes upon the creaking briar gate. Vines snap and crumble, old and withered; others still with color hold tight and tear. Turning his head toward Bene, Sol gives a slight, but confidant smile. "Ready for anything!"

    >The twins huff cross breaths as the air is heavy with lust. Though each fox was distracted by the detailing, complex patterns tended to blindside them, Gaia took the scroll and read it with all the care an illusionist would - both in the legalease and avoiding any enchantment triggering.
    >She realized this was effectively a dungeon accesable only by invitation and contract, noticing the previous adventurers who had signed it. In response gaia conjured an altered copy.the changes read as follows-
'Us two vixens agree to stay up to 2 nights as valued guests seeking rest in the estate, whereupon after a grace period of a few hours to negotiate, we will be teleported outside if time could not be extended. Any plans to shorten or extend that amount of time must be agreed by both parties without ethier being under the influence of any direct charm or mind control. Any violence with intent to wound comitted by the host or her staff to us will result in both guest and host(witch) teleported out the gate."
    >If that was agreed upon terra & gaia signed the new scroll as a pair.

    >Opening the briar gate, the swamp beyond swallows the ground after just a few steps. The canopy of black spruce and larch dominate the canopy, swallowing all but the faintest spots of moonlight shimmering on the never-quite-placid water surface over which hangs a thin fog. While its depth is no more than a few feet... it is nearly enough to cover Sol. The water itself is murky, dense with solids and something that seems to move beneath the surface, never still long enough to let the stagnant water settle even without the current of a feeding river. In the distance, wisps appear and vanish, little flickers of blue that last for but a second before vanishing into the dark. Yellow lightning bugs dim and brighten in greater quantities further from the gate. Deeper, deeper, until they can make out the light of a single candle in the distance. Patches of purple can be seen on the surface, bleached of color by the silvery moonlight.
    >If they look closely above and around, they may see the tiniest hints of eyes hidden among the branches and roots that vanish into the depths of the swamp. As soon as they look towards them beyond the narrow constraints of their peripheral vision, they'd just as quickly vanish. The mild scent of sulfur and methane reach them on occasion, briefly overwhelming the strangely pleasant odor of the stagnant water, almost resinous in its arboreal perfume. A cacophony of sounds, burbling with no discernible source, the songs of insects, the occasional movement of water and the accompanying silence of a night-bird's song cut off, reach the moth and lamia, but never grow so loud as to distract them from their thoughts.

"Heh, go ahead. While you're at it, tell the vamp if she does a little dance and shakes her 'pompoms' for me I'll happily be her maid AND bodyguard for however long we're stuck in this place. She probably needs one since her usual maid is busy trying to find a different kind of master."

    >Watching the strange trio entering their gate Rynn can't help but think about how the maid doll actually has a nice ass. She'd never noticed before in her usual maid dress, but in that bondage outfit that covers almost nothing... Too bad she usually seemed uninterested in sex.

    >>85946725
    >With people starting to enter their chosen gates Rynn goes back to looking over the remaining options. Still undecided between the two that caught her eye or with teaming up with someone else. From what she can see from the broken circle gate she might be able to just fly to the top of the cliff if nothing blocks her, and even if she's forced to navigate the caves it shouldn't be a problem for her. The alleys beyond the broken knife and fork gate seem like they might be a tight fit for her to move through so maybe save that one for whenever someone else is ready to join her there? She keeps looking back and forth between the two while also watching what the remaining team members pick though she's getting impatient.

    >"Squeeze Anna's paw?"

    >Rather than Alice, who that statement was directly directed at, Emily stepped up to Anna in response.
    >Instead of the small pixie, she took Anna's paw.
    >And squeezed it in lieu of a handshake.
    >Between that and Alice's explanation, everything was clear to her.

    >"Whatever you're doing, and whatever your reason. I like it. I will consider you a friend unless you give me a reason not to."

    >Instead, she just turns her attention back to the situation at hand. To the intangibly thick darkness ahead of them.
    >And silently giving thanks for having the pixie around here. They frequently bickered and didn't get along. But she was reliable enough when it actually mattered.
    >But here, what she'd already done gave Emily the confidence to step forward and walk ahead of Anna and Alice.
    >She saw three options ahead of her here. Investigate the outside, try the window, or simply go for the door.
    >And she vocalized her choice, if only to ensure all were on the same page.

"Let us simply take the obvious path, for now. The window intrigues me, but I doubt it has any means of entry other than brute force. If you disagree, I'll listen, but speak quickly. "

The powerful odor of the swamp was the first thing to hit Sol. Being used to the usually neat guildhall and the church back home at Aria, he found the scent to be quite overpowering. While the strong perfume of incense within the chapel could turn a nose some days, it was still far more pleasant than the underlying notes of fetid swamp water.
Grimacing, he stepped forward, eyes immediately locking onto the candlelight in the distance. But the constant and irregular flashes of fireflies and motes serve a sufficient distraction for the light-attracted moth, at least long enough to comment. “You think that candle is where we want to go?” He flutters his wings and rises into a low hover at the swamp’s edge.

"Yes, most likely. Here, I'll take the lead this time."

Having a healthy respect and dedication for quality service is a commendable trait, as is coming here prepared to clean up a mess.” Kakabel glanced at the outfit with mild amusement. “I do wonder how you got that picked for you, though. Looks like it was designed for someone who’s never had to fly for their life.”

Her gaze turns back to the gates. “I’m thinking of taking the alleyways. With enough backup, holding the chokepoints should be viable. "Ah, of course. I am always at your service, Lady Kakabel." Rynn dons a solemn expression as she performs a surprisingly decent curtsy (which she'd mainly learned by staring at any cute maids she encountered wherever she traveled) switching back to her usual grin as she lifts her head. "I'm pretty sure I can still fly just fine but I haven't really tried yet." As a test she unfurls her smallest pair of wings and flaps them a few times, generating enough lift to let her float just above the ground.

"The alleyways it is then. I was starting to pass over that one since it looks like it could be a problem for me to do alone but with your help it should be a cinch. With Yukia too? I doubt there's anything through any of these gates that can stop us."

    >With their first gate decided Rynn puts away the bowl and whisk she's still been carrying this whole time, instead pulling out a mop that looks like it's made of far too valuable materials to actually use. Having been half a joke, half experiment from Meru the mop handle was carved from one of Rynn's full-size horns with the head fashioned out of a mix of her hair and the sinews under her scales. The opposite end of the handle has enough of a point to be used as a short spear, making it a viable weapon choice for the tight spaces they were about to be moving through.

"Acceptable terms. Right through this door, Misses Terra and Gaia."
    >Where once was the wall behind her becomes glass panes open, leading to a long hallway. Black stone covers the floor and ceiling, polished to a mirror sheen; the walls begin white, but blossom into poppy-red, though it's difficult to tell under the strontium-burning lanterns. The whole length is no more than ten meters, but there exists a mirror at the end. Terra and Gaia see themselves in it, but there is a distinct uncanny nature of the reflection—the awkward recognition of one's own ill-composed framing in throes of passion, there is a disconnect between their bodies and the reflection: a more flushed expression, perhaps the slight remnant of something milky-white at the corner of Gaia's mouth, the wagging tail of Terra with something small and blurred with movement tied to its tip. Within a meter of the mirror, the muffled sound of echoing music and raucous lusts reach them. No door exists to their right, their left, above or below. Only the mirror.

    >As with the foxxos, his signature duplicates before being struck through. The glass door opens to the same hallway, his steps echoing through the near-liminal hall before he reaches his own mirror.
    >He doesn't see his own reflection, no—unlike the two before him, he sees a body that is distinctly recognizable, a face he's seen in the mirror, but only when water falls upon him. His alternate form's bust and hips stretch the costume.

    >'Neath Sol's wings and from where Bene rises from the surface of the water, ripples run long, warping about the tree roots and interrupting the placid surface. Eyes open, coiled through the roots of larch, before as quickly vanishing. The candle's glow remains, but the lightning bugs shift, clustering and flashing in sequence. A will o' wisp flutters by, vanishing in the instant it takes them to reorient.
    >Bene feels something slide smoothly under her tail, undulating slightly before her continued momentum passes over it; even should she reverse course, she'd find it impossible to trace. A frog's croak echoes from the branches above.
    >Sol, above the murky water, might not notice anything awry as he follows the lamia deeper into the swamp, though there is a sensation that prickles the back of his neck. Is he being watched? A pest, a bug flying close in the attempt to sip upon his blood? A claw seeking to ensnare?
    >The single thread of a spider's web?
    >A ripple from beneath Sol, causing the waveform of Bene's slithering to vanish briefly as they crossed destructively.

    >Approaching the Knife and Fork gate, Kakabel, Yukia, and Rynn are struck by the almost ramshackle construction; a far cry from the grand buildings or only just-inhabited nature of the other gates, the narrows of the crowded market street alley in the drear of night offer no pleasant vista, no grand views. Claustrophobic and close, channels carved into the cobblestone from where the small nooks decorated with the rusted-over hooks descending from the sky on chains to a drain thick with clots washed of draining blood by an irregular drizzle that leaves the air heavy and humid, tools half-embedded into wooden tables stained red, the entire architecture is hidden from outside view from the regular streets. This is not what the common people want to see.
    >Wooden poles with eye screws set into them, a point for a rope to be secured to keep the merchandise still, are set irregularly, some splintered with the upper halves torn off. Wispy fog leaks from the thinner alleys, eating the irregular gas-lamp yellowed light, plunging the obliquely placed narrows into an obstruction of vision that would obscure even darkvision should they walk too far, too deeply.
    >The odor is that of bone, that scent of marrow leaking its blood and the almost burnt smell of a sawn-ribs and axed spines. Far down the alley, further than the crest of the hill the alley is built upon, they hear a strange chugging sound, revving high before the sound of something wet being splattered carelessly echoes out of the fog...

    >Anna was a little caught off guard by the show of sincerity from the doll in the bondage angel costume, but the paw had been squeezed when requested. The ancient pact must be fulfilled, regardless of the fact that it would spoil the moment.

    FFFFRRRRRRRTTTTT

    >The gloomy silence of the academy is broken by the sound of a whoopie cushion being triggered, followed by childish laughter. Anna was still meant to be imitating a toy after all, and Emily had fallen for the oldest trick in the book. The "pull my finger," ever so slightly adjusted for a teddy bear. Thankfully that was the extent of her little prank. With her skill in illusion who knows what sort of horrid scent she could have cooked up if she were truly evil.

    >Anna was starting to suspect that at least the pixie was also originally from Earth. The concepts she was throwing around were pretty exclusive to media from the long gone world. Not something you'd find in Harahel at least. Possibly the other one was as well, with how quickly she seemed to recognize what she was up to. But that was a mystery for later. For now she would oblige, leading the way as the largest and most imposing member of their party. To express her intent and throw out a little bit more mystery of her own, the bear had this to say.

"Anna will face her foul counterpart!"

    >For what that may have been implying, they'd have to think back to the poem line corresponding to their chosen gate. Then she walks to the entrance with lumbering steps. There is no fear in her eye as she peers through the crack in the doors. She would go on and open them Dark Souls style if there were no obvious dangers to be seen.

    >A black haired elf with black moth wings strolls up behind the group. To those familiar with him, it would seem that Whisper had dyed his hair and adopted a more goth aesthetic in preparation for Halloween.

    >The costume that his subconscious had forced upon Whisper appears to be that of a plague doctor or medieval surgeon as evidenced by the beaked mask, thin black latex apron, black latex gloves, a small black bag at his waist, and nothing else.

    >Whisper takes off the mask and raises a finger into the air. A speech bubble with text, thanks to the enchanted tongue piercing, appears beside his head.

[Hello Alice and Emily. Sorry for arriving late. I caught some of what is going on and spotted you choosing this gate.]

    >The glass ripples into silver with their first touch, urging them forward as their world inverts. The foxes, simply pushing through the mirror with steeled resolve, find themselves stretching a foot ever slightly too much, the angle of the mirror making them briefly lose their footing as they step through. The space they found themselves was warm and dark and close, glasses mussed and pressed against their faces. Alas, they had only a second to enjoy their face being planted in a chest as a finger moved up Terra's neck—a hand curled and gently grabbed a fist of Gaia's hair.
    "How forward we are."
"Leave it to twins to indulge in their Reflections."
    >Relying on the Twins' reflex to push away, they twist in perfect unison with the scrambling attempt to regain their footing. For the moment, the simply held them as if in a dip, supporting them by the small of their back before bringing their faces close the the individual foxes. Terra was confronted by her own face, subtly wrong, the all-too-familiar sweet scent of a succubus reaching her as the Reflection brought her mouth to Terra's neck, nipping softly before her lips leave a soft kiss, and the Sigil is woven, a cursemark in the shape of a rose, almost invisibly red in the same crimson lighting.
    >Gaia finds herself bearing down, head unmoving in the Reflections strong grip. Try as she might, she can't escape the small clink of their glasses hitting together or the lips pressed against her cheek. The teeth pinch the skin at the apex of Gaia's cheekbone, the soft ~mwah~ of the kiss coinciding with the Sigil blossoming precisely where the lingering sensation of the nip kept the skin warm.
    >The Reflections release their hold on the twins, letting them scramble to standing before they move towards the mirror...

    >A suffocating pressure startles him as the purifying silver reacts with his mazoku heritage, akin to being immersed in a bath just hot enough to sting the skin scarlet. The uncertain footing as he steps through carries him forward, the remnant of the burning sensation pushing him with greater haste; it is only a brief second that he has to catch himself, but it takes only that moment to find arms about his neck, his head pushed firmly into a warm softness.
"There there.~ Those two little foxes left you behind, didn't they?"
    >She strokes his head, looking back down on him with a particular familiarity before shifting her hold, stepping forward to push Amughar back up just enough for her to reach his neck with her lips. She gently licks up to the midpoint of his nape, tongue flicking in opposing diagonals before she brings her mouth down. However, this isn't a mere kiss or hickey—her vampiric fangs in a mirror of Amughar's sink into his neck, weaving the Sigil with the sensation of a cursemark placed. She pulls away, not a drop of blood on her tongue or teeth as she smiles, pulling away and stepping around Amughar, her back to the mirror...
    "Don't worry, you'll see each other soon.~ Indulge to your still-heart's content.~"

    >Stepping this way and that, moving through through the particular copse—the snakes slithering by tongue-committee over the limbs that made up roots in stepwise instances, not once so heavy as to sink into the muddy ground beneath but nonetheless avoiding the trap of slithering into the much-softened earth until it would swallow up the snake-foot whole—the conglomerate finds themselves in something of a long clearing, a lane of travel by which, giving a look about the orchard stripped of fruit for some ten or so trees on either side of the lane, the orchard was harvested and its stock, the ovaries and wombs and little long-stemmed fruits that swayed in lazy circles or the little nuts held delicately in the fingers which leaked irregularly the juices ripe to the ground.
    >The snakes taste hay again, a regular thumping in a three-beat in tow. Leather joins, a hint of brain still just fresh enough for there to be a taste on the air as the wind sweeps through the branches. A thump comes near the snakes, just beside—the little fruit had grown slick and popped from the fingers that held it, falling down into the mud with an ignoble splattering. Curiously, the scent of artificial fish bait briefly drifts up from the fruit, but quickly diminished into nothing before the increasingly pungent odor of brain, leather, and hay.
    >A lantern hanging aside a horse entered view, a man atop dressed in the finery of a butler: long, thin limbs in matter wool, a slender torso that flares to wide shoulders leading to the peaked lapels, large hands covered in fine white silk, and a tie about his collar, where above was nothing. Not even a hat, considering there was no head upon which to seat it. The steed itself was more than abnormal, more akin to someone’s attempt to draw a horse from memory than an actual horse, the locomotion somewhat awkward and lopsided, meaning it either ran forward at a canter or stood entirely still—as it did just down the way from the snakes.

    >Kakabel takes in the damp air thick with the stench of blood, the smears of bone and meat on the walls, and cracks her fingers. Before this gets any messier, she’ll need to pick her people carefully: someone to hold an alleyway, and someone with a good sense of direction to make sense of an unconventional dungeon. There’s no room here for numbers. The fog is untrustworthy, and anyone even slightly unsuitable risks becoming part of the macabre decor. So she flips through the contacts in her Summoner’s Nexus for specific people.

A banner of light shimmers into her hand. She plants it in the ground, and a thread of light ties her to everyone who answers the call.

A summoning circle blooms beneath the banner. As the glare fades, a knight stands at its center, sword in hand, the tassels on her epaulets swaying in a wind that isn’t there. She bows fist in palm to Kakabel, then leans in for a hug, which Kakabel returns warmly.

“Kakabel! It’s so nice to see you again!”
    >The hug loosens, the knight’s nose wrinkling at the smell of wet offal.

    >Behind them, a table groans as a woman in a detective’s coat and an ascot slinks out from under it, though it shouldn’t have been able to hide anyone.
“Evening, Kakabel. Did you get trapped here, or did you choose this case?”

    >Kakabel sighs.
“Do you ever do things the way they’re meant to be done?”

    >The rogue adjusts her ascot and scoffs.
“I take pride in exploring the unconventional. That, and I’ll leave getting shot with arrows on arrival to people who can take a beating.”

    >The two newcomers look over their outfits.
“This isn’t what I came here in,” the rogue admits, running a thumb along a velvet lapel, “but I like it.” >She turns to the knight.

“The knight, Marcille, is actually a monk. Fast, sturdy, with a few light and water tricks up her sleeve. She casts them like a monk, though, so don’t expect finesse.”
    >They nod toward the rogue.
“The one with the ascot is the dangerous one. Her popping out from under the table? That was her slipping the shackles of Kakabel’s summoning. It’s the type the Arbiters keep in reserve for vast campaigns and punitive actions, and as far as I can tell, nothing holds her. Which is the strange part, since she has no magic of her own. So the two of us will be doing the heavy lifting.”

Tenshi eugenics programs are the hidden engines of history. How else do you think non-tenshi heroes wielding holy power as champions of living hominid and fae races appear? Calculated, distant tenshi ancestry with compatible individuals means all it takes is a little nudge to connect certain people as a conflict breaks out and in short order you'll have a proper pawn born.

Of course, the tenshi will need to find suitable bloodlines with which to mix their genes. It takes a lot of samples to find those with genetic backgrounds most compatible with tenshi capabilities. You can guess which Arbiter's tenshi tend to handle the wider collection process.

    >With the maid and slasher-teddy electing to push forward, Anna looks inside. The crack betrays precious little, only the two small lanterns placed at the newels of the three large staircases that lead to the upper floor against either wall and down to a basement level centrally. The wood, worn smooth and low in places, reflect the light where friction-polished so; the ceiling, however, seemed too far for the mere lanterns to reach, creating the illusion of a vast void above.

Should Anna pull her head back even just a bit, she'd find that the breathing would cease entirely. >https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/85635829/#q85869472 (Eden)
    >"Who claw'd this corpse from the mud?"
    “What-?”

    >"Don't be mean to our friend's racist wife!"
“I’m not-! Okay, maybe a l-! It's called pattern recogn-!”

    >"Why not, doesn't she enjoy half the time?"
    >[“Pffft, not as much as she might think~”]
    >[“Shut up, Pandia!” Selene thought.]
    “I DON-”

    >"Wait... do you think her other selves have a sliding sado/maso scale despite them all being bottoms?"
“TURNING YOU INTO A BOOK, YOU BROAD-LEAFED BI-!”

    >"""""Hi Selene!~"""""

The vampire in question stomped her foot! She knew! Any curse or hex wouldn’t even land on the MAIN Eden and would likely result in a biological bomb and she was a friend of Talia’s BUT STILL-!
“Hi Eden…!” she ground out through gritted teeth. “Quit trying to drive me crazy and TALK NORMAL-”
    >>
    >https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/85635829/#q85869904 (Emily)
    >"Ojou."
The stomping should have told her someone was sneaking up on her. She had hung around, studied, even copied and made her own form of echolocation. Selene could count the number of people (or trees) within fifteen paces of herself, the strange circulation of the water, the unnatural breeze in the air.
And of course, none of that mattered as her maid had somehow snuck up on her again, forcing her to jump! Selene turned with a grimace when her feet touched down again from the rather impressive air time she had managed, her face quickly turning to beaming smiles again

“Wh-what?” the blonde muttered. “Oh, that came out super cute! It is nice to get out of your uniform every now and again, no-?”

    >"Please explain the magic that led to you being dressed like this. If you decline, you'll find your portion of sweets lighter for a while."
“I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING! I tripped on a crystal ball and ended up here!” the ojou whined. “More importantly! We can collect witches here, Emmy! I can finally put those alchemy labs and whatnot to use! Actually…”

“We can keep anyone- THING we defeat right?” the vampire asked, tone sweet as she could manage while maintaining some semblance of sincerity. Actually…
The vampiress makes a grabbing motion, hoping to claim one of her instruments, ANY of them would be lovely to have but with the strange spatial nonsense in play, she rather doubted it’d be that easy. At the same time, she also tried her best to feel for the magical connections she had with her Grand Summons. If she at LEAST had the damn skeleton or ghost ship to draw on…
Did the shitty whistle on her neck count as an instrument? Well, Selene would know soon enough...

    >"I didn't think you'd become the hot girl in a slasher film…"
The vampire scoffed, brushing a lock of hair out of her eye.
“Don’t really get it either but it COULD be worse. Kind of wish I got something less revealing, though.”

The vampire’s eyes flick up and down and you can almost see her try to sift the [Pride] out of her next words.

“Your costume came out cute too. A vampire could probably wear it better, though~”

    >"For a moment I thought Anna here was yet another cursed object you managed to pick up, somehow-
Selene whirled. The devil bear was gone. She reached a hand out to Emily only to find the treacherous little clockwork angel had wandered off without even a whisper!
“Stealing some of HER sweets, I promise you that…” she muttered to herself, eyes darting around to make SURE she wouldn’t get ambushed by any other magically wrought lifeform. “And I’m not TRYING to find them! They find me!”

    > Also reminds me, can you make sure you're around when I loot a chest, I think I can use you as a dowsing rod for cursed items"
    “Request denied!”

    >"Heh, go ahead. While you're at it, tell the vamp if she does a little dance and shakes her 'pompoms' for me-
    “Not doing that~ Later Alligator~”
With that said, Selene immediately jogged for the Broken Circle Gate, pom poms swishing. There were witches to collect! She needed a gaggle of them for her future plans and delegations! It was a race now and everyone here was a competitor!

    "S-stop, they're askinnnngh! N-not there— Don't push...!"
    >Her face suddenly appears above the fountain, the neckline of her dress uneven and the capelet discarded, face clearly flushed and breathing heavy. A line of reddened skin runs along her skin from the corner of her jaw, down past where the neckline hides. Her brow twitches as she gathers herself.
"T-to the victor go the spoils!"
    >She leans her head almost out of frame, jumping with a squeak as her eyes shut and her face is obscured by her hat. A second later, she looks back up, the brim barely clearing her eyes.

    >Approaching the Broken Circle Gate, Selene would find a worn wooden sign reading "The Cliffs of Houska." Beyond, she sees what looks like an abandoned camp of sorts, a shack battered by winds and single window broken, the remains of a cap outside now returned to nothing but driftwood and massive bones, a single vertebra laid such that it looks akin to a small chair, rib bones poking up from the black sands almost three meters above. Just beyond is a narrow bay, an inlet of sorts, with the soft sound of waves lapping on the shore, moonlight reflecting in dancing rays back into her eyes. From the camp, up the right side, she sees a path carved into the steep walls of the fjord-like scenery, moving inwards and out to caves and vistas as if to allow scant light to guide those unfortunate to be here up, up, to where the cliffs extend past their base. There, lit by the reflection of the moon on the water, was a single soul, dressed in long robes and a wide-brimmed, pointed hat, a scythe in hand...

    >The headless horseman gives the pumpkin snake-bundle a deep bow, even if still saddled upon the horse. Being entirely without a head, he's quite incapable of speech, instead moving his hands. He points to the fruits, then to his head, and then down at the horse. He then makes his hands shape into rings, large middle fingers contacting the thumb, then links them together. He repeats the motion a few times, then refers to both the horse and himself once more. Pulling at his collar, he shows a bloodless stump; his hands move around as if his head were there, then points towards the sky. Through the tight arms and hands of the canopy, the snakes can only just make out the silhouette of a witch skating above the trees before descending back down, appearing again seemingly at random after a few forest-heartbeats.
    >The snakes can just barely make out a head strapped to one, a very faint sound just barely reaching the snakes: a low, masculine voice pushed high, a resonant baritone bishie sound that, even in the plainly desperate straits the head has found itself in, refuses to allow his decor to at all fall to the standards of graceless screaming for help. Ever composed, formal in a manner unlike any living person without divinely altered neural-structures, the stolen head bounces with the witch bouncing up above the canopy before again disappearing. The snakes can catch a glint of moonlight off the witch's thick glasses as she reaches the apex, the floppy, pointed hat's brim otherwise preventing a proper look at her face.

The tight spaces are a terrible match for someone as big as her, and while she could try going up and over the buildings that would mean leaving her two more fragile companions to fend for themselves. Not that they couldn't do that if needed, she knows the other women are tough and experienced enough to be fine without her. Caught off guard by the stretchy sticky tongue grabbing his rear, a deep shiver ran up Sol's spine along with the physical ripple of the strike. So when the follow-up retraction tried to draw him into the swamp, it was only his previous experience in combat that gave him an out. Weaving a single incantation as he flew backward, the moth boy blinked out of the air and away from the tongue by only a couple feet. However, while free of the tongue, his momentum was unchanged and in the next moment he splashed down loudly into the swamp regardless.

Sensing her ration of sweets dwindling away rapidly, the clamoring voices in the blonde's head quickly formulated an idea.

"N-naturally," she began, quickly glancing about to make sure no one was watching. "It helps facilitate my Bardism, more around dance than my usual song but it should work fine, I guess!"

To illustrate her point, Selene swished her pom poms and hips to a quick beat, shaping an illusion. It was a full step down from her usual but fooling sight and sound was easy enough, even without the more overt tools of her art. A tanned, ravenette twin appeared next to the vampiric cheerleader, mirroring her motions.

Usually if she were casting an illusion on a door, she'd be making them blend seamlessly into the wall so that escape seemed impossible. She waves her bone saw at him in a seemingly friendly manner before letting it rest once more against the ground to continue dragging. Internally she was thankful that some emergency rations had willingly tagged along with them. Seeing how Alice greeted him, Anna determines that this particular prey was unfortunately already claimed though. >The increase in companions sends a shudder through the space before them. Edges grow hazy like an image on the edge of one’s vision, expanding and contracting as if the space beyond is actively breathing before the fog rolls in just as the edges sharpen into focus; the alleys and narrows look familiar, still cast if in chiaroscuro where the oblique angles of light dance across the wet corners, fog condensing and dripping down as the air grows thick and warm and heavy, cloying mists in an unseasonable heat. The sound of dull metal scraping against stones reaches them, the rough sounds given a brief silence and clack between each cobble. A slate shingle slips off a roof close to the entrance, shattering as it crashes into the ground. Somewhere distant, a woman’s scream is heard, then a sickening thud and squelch, another, another, a manic pattern matched with a wail on each after being briefly silenced by the blow, until on the seventh thud no wail responded.
    >The rogue may find herself particularly uneasy; the claustrophobic turns and covered alleys and atypical geometry and endless apparati of the butcher leaves no space for a breath, all angles potentially hiding or availing themselves to the sort of wretched, barbaric violence upon other people as they do livestock. The monk may, in her own way, be able to feel the violence etched into the very atmosphere of the gate, an active rejection of solace, as if it believes itself undeserving of such.
    >Perhaps not unlike a prison, this place feels as if it was created for the guilty, the unrepentant, and the unforgiven.

    >There was no need to question the confidence of the party venturing in, looking down this way and that in the heavy darkness. Anna, posting up at the base of one of the upwards-heading stairs, can look up to see what look vaguely like strings, drifting in an unseen stirring of air in minute circuits from where they seem to descend from an endless darkness above at the landing that leads to another staircase ascending; Whisper, opposite Anna on the staircase, has his attention drawn in by the flickering of the flame, dancing, dancing, a flicker that seems fatal only to roar again to life as if to proclaim that it will never die and cast all around in the shadow of its vanished vitality; Alice finds the floor to be hardwood, with innumerable runes carved along each plank, though they’re ones she recognizes she can’t make out what they’re meant to mean, as if they’re truly nothing but nonsense spread about with the certainty that no one would really take the time to look at them and any explanation could be invented as one pleased; Emily, being the only one looking to the left and right, finds halls leading down in either direction, vanishing into utter darkness only for the faintest image of light to filter from a window, leaving one to cross a void between each island of light. The angel, for her part, spots what seems to be a detached hand in the light of the window for a brief moment before it vanishes again into the void-gulfs.
    >A pitter-patter, like fingers drumming on a table, begins to faintly echo from above and below. With their attention earned, the door behind them shuts hard, the movement of air seemingly enough to snuff the lanterns and plunge everyone into the suffocating gloom. The tip-tapping pitter-patter pip-pits louder with an agonizing slowness.
    >A finger snaps, and a score of disembodied hands drop from the ceiling, seeking to grasp onto anything they touch!

    >Bene’s needle lands true, piercing the fleshy, tongue appendage recoiling back after having lost its suctioned grasp on supple moff ass! However, any victory from as much could only be short-lived. Sol plunges into the water due to the conserved momentum, finding himself turned all sorts of ways in the murky water. Unlike the aquatic construction of Bene’s body and costume, the moth found his wings to be quite the task to handle in the water. The lack of visibility, too, made determining up and down in the thick, almost neutrally buoyant mix of silt and water all the more difficult; even as he gets his orientation, he can feel thin, almost worm-like things crawling up his leg, along his wings, undulating as it crawls about and covering him with a slimy substance before, as if satisfied, simply seem to phase directly through his body and allow him to slip from their grasp.
    >Green blood floats on the surface of the water, fatty and smelling vaguely of lime candy flavoring, as Sol finally manages to find the surface of the roughly meter-deep bog. The mucous-like substance of the worms begins to heat as it is exposed to air…

    >Their doubles smile as they leave, looking to one another as the foxxos drift out of sight and quickly delve back into the crowds.
    >The two foxxos proper find themselves in a courtyard, small pavilions about a central pool filled with nymphs indulging the passersby of all shapes and sorts: men, women and all those in-between, gasps and moans from their pool-side service melting into the din of various pairings on cushioned furniture copulating everywhere from a primal rut of a futa okami into a much smaller halfling to a lamia wrapped about an elf and simply undulating slowly while a froth of fluids formed a puddle beneath their hips; they may notice a curious lack of nekos, and even the okami seem less domesticated than modern examples. The air is filled with a sweet musk and cinnamon-spice that seems to send the libido into an endless cascade, the nymph before Gaia struggling to take the fourth load from the same futa in as many minutes.
    >The largest pavilion has an example of a witch, her succubus tail wrapped around a dragonkin lad’s tool while she sits on another, a sheep-horned woman lost in the act of serving the witch with mouth and tongue, and two others—completely nude except for veils that covered their head giving no clue as to their identity except for the fluffy squirrel tail and flat chest of one and the obscenely oversized assets and cotton-puff tail of the latter—that fan the succubus as she eats a pomegranate.

    >The only response he gets is a smile, then a pinch of her finger to the corner of her lips before moving it to the other.
“Nothing is free, but it’ll cost you to turn a profit.”
    >Cryptic advice aside, she seems to vanish from Amughar’s sight, divesting him of her chest before again slipping into the crowds. Perhaps unintuitively, the only place Amughar seems to be able to go is the same courtyard as Terra and Gaia, finding the same sights and sounds, though he catches a glimpse of a cursemark on another: the witch.

    >The headless butler gestures vaguely to his own neck, craning his body down as if offering to let the pumpkin-bunched-snakes ride atop. Perhaps to greater effect, though his awareness is surprisingly high for lacking a head.
    >He simply follows along on his horse as they skip along, trying to gesture to wherever the witch is heading.
    >The snakes slowly get a feel for the geometry, paths leading onto concentric pseudo-circles in the hyperbolic geometry, meaning that technically the witch should be heading towards the central estate if they follow on with the same heading—if the snakes are correct.
    >But for now, the flesh-trees bearing offal fruit seem to sparse out slightly, the denser trees for smaller organs coming out to larger trees with trunks some thirty-arms thick, multiple hands cradled around negative spaces where heads, arms, legs, and other appendages once were. The headless butler points up to one such space, then points to his other arm.
    >The broom-riding witch scrapes across the sky once more between the more spacious limb-of-limbs, giving a closer estimation of her position some 33 degrees positive from present bearing; in other words, just a little ways forward and around a corver, which may very well be a straight line in this geometry...

    >Unfortunately for them, it was hard to infiltrate a place that a) knew they were invited and b) were very used to the likes of cute angsty kemono assassins.Perhaps it was the cinnamon air just barely infecting their libido making them breathe subtly shaky and rattled, their sharp claws extending just loud enough. Perhaps it was Amughar's sudden return making threm quietly flinch and whisper bicker, perhaps the veiled bodyguards senses were sharp enough to sense sneaky huggable beasts. Whatever the reason/excuse the twins attempt to sneak up would be allowed, allowed all the way around, the witch definitely noticing them ages ago and they were halted by the fanning squirrel and rabbit bodyguards who felt many invisible vixen tails brush against them.

    >Too many ways forward, for once. There was no denying that the side paths were at least hypothetically valid choices.
    >But Emily was the quickest to spot the odd hands. And hear their tapping.
    >And therefore, with her speed (Even if Alice was faster), she was able to see the hands coming for her. And avoid them.
    >But, in the darkness and in this situation, she wanted to confirm something.
    >Were these hands even real? Or were they some sort of ghastly?
    >To confirm that, she stabbed the nearest one with her knife.

It wasn't until the hands fell that she decided that her earlier comment about counterparts was most probable. She now firmly believed that the current enemy, whether it be a minion of the foe she sought or an extension of the foe itself, was of marionette make. Anna herself could theoretically pull off a similar display with [Dr. Frankenstein] and [Teacher's Pet], though doing so on such a scale was currently beyond her abilities.

    "Anna likes that game!"

    >She follows suit, swinging her bone saw in a wide arc. Her earlier adjustments to her arm were useful for this, extending her range as she swipes left and right in a seemingly mad frenzy. Her combo of attacks would be wildly off target, had she been targeting the hands. No, her first flurry of violence is directed at the space above the swarming grabbers. If her hypothesis were correct she'd be slicing the threads controlling them, or at the very least tangling them up with the wool slime making up her enlarged appendage. And if she were wrong? Just keep swinging. They were tiny, and she was a bear. They'd get crushed eventually.

The feeling of small creatures over his body snapped the moth out of the disorienting splash. Even though his blood was severely caustic, the initial fear of being feasted on by leeches or other swamp creatures had him frantically swimming to the faint lights above the surface. Breaking the swamp's surface with more a plaintive warble than a real inhale, Sol immediately lifts himself from the mire with a magical shield disc. At first he is unaware of the heating mucous, more grossed out than analytical. "Ah! That's foul!" As he regains his composure, he looks down to the waters below, trying to track the source of the green flow. "Bene, did you see what that was?" The heating however, continued to be a rising nuisance. Hoping it wasn't poison, Sol pulsed healing magic through himself, trying to boost his natural regenerative abilities. Whether or not the slime was a "poison" though, had yet to be seen.

    >Moving with a jerk between ominous preponderance and a vicious pounce, the hands that fall aim towards the group, those that skitter along the walls and floors attempt to angle themselves for leaps onto them.
    >Whisper, his situational awareness shot, is converged upon above and below. Digits grasp as they close in on his fluff, the complete lack of rear protection only defended by Alice’s rapid approach, herself being both too small and too quick for the hands to take their usual approach. The illusory copies find themselves the targets for the falling phylanges, though the lack of true substance means they pass through at myriad angles—rarely towards the real Whisper or even in the direction of the pixie herself. The sheer numbers allow them to take a shotgun approach, Whisper finding the nails of a soft hand, delicate fingers squeezing the meat of his derriere; another falls into the front of his apron, trapped against his chest as it begins to wiggle itself from the cleft of his pectorals over to the more sensitive bits hidden beneath the fabric. Alice finds digits that missed an illusory copy arcing towards her, but of course, such would be easy to evade for one of her quickness.
    >The marionette is in a bit of an odd position, quick but grounded as yet more of the disembodied hands come from above. While dodging the hands near her is easy, stepping through and around, their increasing numbers would make the task increasingly difficult with each passing second. Her blade flickers through the air towards one. It makes contact easily, but it still wriggles, trying to grab at the knife itself. The hands themselves seem to be quite lacking in nociception.
    >The swing of the bonesaw does indeed reward Anna; several fall motionless to the ground, others are pulled along with the toothed blade in the arc for a moment before they too fall motionless to the floor below. Leaping towards her, they seek to overwhelm from above.

    >While Bene is more than quick to elect to continue onwards, Sol feels the light magic briefly silence the heat that blossoms against skin; behind the shield and without Bene or his own eyes or intuition telling him that anything is doing something other than watching him, there should be no immediate danger. However, that moment of his body’s reprieve finds the heat replaced with long lines on his body of intense sensitivity, though not of the painful sort. Instead, those lines on his body along his leg and wing suddenly pulsing with a sensation as if being licked, strange pulses of the sensation being sent directly to one of the few parts of his body that’s covered. While mild right now, touching it directly would reveal that it’s roughly as sensitive now as his inner thigh closest to the core of his arousal. While not directly overwhelming, the light magic doesn’t seem to quell it; instead, the sensation pulses with each internal rush of arka.
    >They hear a splash up ahead, then a series of ‘plips’ as something small enters the water, tiny slivers of darkness far off from the branch of a tree. The longer they wait, the more things in the dark feel comfortable approaching…

    >The twins, shrouded as they are, find themselves affected by the incense (due to Lightweight) that distracts them, preserving the invisibility effect but causing them to get a little too close to the people they passed as they close on the Witch’s position. Hot breath over the neck, the subtle graze of a claw unsheathed against a bare thigh: even invisible, it wasn’t hard for the lust-addled foxxos to be tracked. Tails brushing up against her servants and the guards who reach out for the tails without hesitation, the witch moves to respond, but Amughar’s blasé approach cuts her off.
    “Oh, darling, I’m just a witch.~”
    >She brings a finger up along her neck, a black-painted nail trailing over the cursemark. It’s hard to take one’s eyes off her fingers, the nail catching the light just so as she trails the finger down to the notch of her collarbone, then just across her bosom. Her hat, wide-brimmed, is slung low, hiding one eye from Amughar’s view.
“Most of the others here are little more than echoes, a borrowed memory made manifest. Whatever you mean by winning, this is a place of debauched pleasure. It will drown you as surely as you breathe the incensed air. If you wish to take control, isn’t the natural thing to do is beat the Lupa at her own game?~”
    >She smiles, eyes hidden.
“Let the ravening beast overwhelm the she-wolf.~”
    >Her teeth briefly elongate in the smile, incisors growing and sharpening.
    “Or will you be overwhelmed?~”

(Rolls of 10 and 9 vs bunnys 15 and squirrels 3)
    >The twins stifled a shrieked groan as they were grabbed, their outlines more visible via shocked sparks and glows of [Marks of failure] as their bushy sensative tails were groped and fluffed by the bodyguard mimi. "G-Get Off!!" Terra barked as she violently sweeped the squirrelgirl off them with savage jolt like kicks and swipes, but she could eventually recover to continue as they couldnt yet get the greedy bunnygirl off them. Given the foxxos [bestial] embarassment at being taunted and groped by prey kemonomimis they panted restless, their restless tussle and [unbreakable will] had their opposing mimi twins learn that Strength and lust alone wernt going to make these vixens fall yet, if keep the foxes pent-up and pre-occupied. they'd need curses, sorcery and brainwashing to actually get them to crack under the false blood moon.
Gaia barked out to Amu "Just focus the witch, we'll keep the lackeys busy!"
Worst case scenario, if this violent lust craze later got to the twins then Amu just had the perfect excuse to beat them up again later.

    >As soon as the buildings and streets surrounding them start shifting around Rynn moves to the front of the party, not willing to risk putting the other women in danger. The strange sounds they're hearing are coming from somewhere up ahead so that's the direction she should be guarding. The Rogue can handle detecting anything that might sneak around behind them.
"Kakabel, better not summon anyone else unless we really need the help. Who knows how this place will change if we brought in more people. The walls might just move themselves to split us up. Speaking of which..."
    >Rynn scoops up Kakabel with her tail so she's sitting sidesaddle atop the scaly appendage. The thick tail that usually just gets in the way in Humie cities showing it's true worth here as it easily holds itself up well off the ground even with Kakabel on top of it. She motions to Yukia inviting her to climb aboard as well if she wants.
"Better stay close in case things move around again. Feel free to climb on my back if you want a better view or to shoot something over my shoulder."
    >Once Yukia has climbed on, or refused the offer, Rynn immediately marches forward in the direction of the screams, spear/mop handle held at the ready to jab at any threats.

    >Emily is very flatly surprised by the lack of reaction to her knife.
    >It's too easy. But it also... Just doesn't do anything. Besides put her at risk of losing her weapon.
    >And at a glance, it's easy to see that the others aren't faring significantly better, despite the apparent effectiveness of Anna's larger weapon.
    >But given the situation, there was really only one thing for Emily to do.
    >And that was make her way to the stairs.
    >The hallways seemed unlikely to pay out with nothing in them. Which meant that was the only route she felt like bothering with.

"Disregard these. They'll never end. Let's go up."

    >Of course, with the number of hands increasing by the second, Emily had to rely on her own speed to evade them and get to the stairs.
    >And then just hope that everybody else could get there too. And that the swarm would be stop growing if they got out of the foyer.
    >If they didn't, then Emily would simply have to rely on the magic users of the group to figure it out. But she didn't bother worrying about that right now.
