Also, Why does the thread not bump? Edition. On other boards it's 350 post bump and 150 image limit or something like that but we never reach that in Diecast General before getting archived.Pic, Efsi BRM F1 car from the 70's
Someone has obliterated these Hotwheels at my Target.
The bottom row features rally cars. I tried to arrange them from bottom to top by increasing class and from left to right by increasing performance.
>>11926658Nice collection anon
>>11926658>diablo SVnoiceit's either that, the no decals tomica or the 60 eurobucks microturbo, right?
>>11926663ty so much>>11926688I guess so. Microturbo looks really nice but it's too expensive
Despite the price I'm happy with the one micro turbo I have which is a J's racing S2000. The details are spectacular.
Canadian event exclusive ignition model RWB. I was lucky to find a Canadian company to ship one to me.
>>11926867I always love that Vaillant Bunny livrey. Do you collect 1/64 scale because they take less room to display? Things that are not just mainline toys do get some real nice cars but they get expensive very fast I noticed.
>>11926963>Do you collect 1/64 scale because they take less room to display?Yes. There are many cars I like and I wouldn't have the space for 1/18 or 1/12.
>>11924687Very nice! I like the escort too. As parts of the previously mentioned collection i'll be getting both the i20 and the puma. The same publisher has already collaborated with Tarmac Works for the distribution of the previous collection in Asia, so I believe that the models are the same apart from some details>>11925131I'm always curious to see the results of your work. A while ago there was a gasland anon, the one building his own z31 fairlady (tho he was busy and the project was going slow) or simply others adding small details or swapping wheels. It's always interesting to observe the different solutions and people's tastes.>>11926658sweet collection! What are the daytona sp3 and the ctr?>>11926866post it>>11926867I'm not really a fan of RWB but that's still a pretty good looking model
>>11927035>post itI like how the carbon fiber is scaled correctly. Some of the other models I’ve seen with carbon fiber make the weaves look way too large.
resin Z by error404
and a bonus time micro impreza
>>11927035I like both of those a lot, especially the lancia delta.
does anyone do model kits? i know could ask in scale model general but this is a lot more car centric.
>>11927035Thanks. Daytona SP3 is BBR, CTR is Mini GT.
>>11927045>resinneat, but for me it's a 1/18 thing (pic related)
>>11926984I get that, I wish I had more space aswell. It's only from hanging out in this thread that I became really aware off 1/64 for real collectors stuff.>>11927424That's such a pretty purple!
Did I find a special, /HWG? I got the blue one a while back but did not get around to opening it, today in line at Aldi I found the white one. It has diverent wheels and chrome parts but no markings that it could be a chase car. The grills need paint because they are just in the color of the body, for the rest I like these.
>>11927640Nah, probably not. HW has been really big into doing color variations of a single deco for a while now. They'd typically keep the same wheels but even that is in flux now.For example, the '70 Ford Escort that everyone was nabbing earlier this year in metalflake root beer just got a another release in fresh colors with different wheels, but still the same base deco. Similar scenarios with the new Mitsubishi Starion, as well as the Volvo 240.
>>11927706Thank you for the info. I was going to open it anyway, pics will follow, it's dark outside atm, but it would have been cool. There probably could be chase cars in that bin because it's in an inconvenient place so there is no good opportunity to really go and search. I'm mainly looking for pre war and Aero style cars though, another Beast of Turin would be cool, otherwise I just paint the grill off the one I already have.
>>11927706Is "metalflake root beer" the official color, there?
>>11927740Yeah, "root beer" has been an official Hot Wheels color going back to the early days. It's listed as the official color on the wiki, but the exact shade seems inconsistent. The van on the right here is also listed as "spectraflame root beer", but it seems more orangey/copper than some of the other "root beer" cars I have seen.
Thought they finally had just a regular 89 Batmobile out, and it's another variant. At first I thought it was just the Batmobile in cocoon mode, but noticed under it it was just a cover. Then revealing it the gold trim kinda disappoints me, but I still buy the variants. Probably the next time I see this version it will be the Batmissile.
>China Toy Expo 2026> mini gt protothat's interesting
as if things weren't ridiculous enough:>$54,000 worth of stolen Hot Wheels recovered in Colton
>torque 5-pack is not at any of the stores in my area>finally find it at store i was reluctant about shopping at>find another one at the next store i check while on a tripit's weird when this happens
I FINALLY FOUND MASERATTI QUATTROPORTE
>wait years for someone to release a decent and affordable 3 series (E30) 4doors>finally AR announces a set to commemorate the anniversary>there it is, it's even white>fucking perfect!> FF>>>only available as a rare colorway, part of a set not sold separately>gone for goodAnd fuck me
>>11927986I recently got this myself. I checked under the packaging before I bought it, so I knew it was just that same tired Batmobile underneath, I honestly wish it was just the armoured mode with wheels instead.>BatmissleOr this, maybe have a way for the armour to clip on so that it doesn't just lift off whatever the vehicle is.
Thoughts?
>>11930273Shove it up your ass
>>11930273I like it. Treads the line between "realistic" concept car and toyetic styling quite nicely. I kind of dislike the spoiler, as it unbalances the back half and calls too much attention to the missing rear hatch gimmick dropped from the original.
I got into Rocket League recently and I feel like there's an untapped market here. I know they did the Octane a while back but there are so many neat original cars to choose from.
>>11930273Ugly. Doesn't know ifnit wants to be 70s style concept (like recent beautiful Slide Burn) or a super futuristic electric vibe. And in addition also feels like another modified Twin Mill.I do like fantasy cars, but this one is just ugly shit.
>>11930273What about the Go Realla Fast? It's supposed to look like a gorilla. I saw the banana decals and immediately heard the Donkey Kong 64 'Ohhh banana' sound effect in my head. If it wasn't for the bananas and the name I would have thought it was just another generic ugly fantasy casting. In a different universe this is Hot Wheel's character car for Harambe.
>>11930273I would buy that for the name alone.Meanwhile, getting die-cast at thrift stores is kinda miserable because stuff that ends up in the rumage bins/tubs is usually just Junkers. Sometimes there is i testing stuff tho. Rally anon may want to sit down for this.
It does have a party trick! But it also clearly did drive over some native or camel. It's MatchBox and 1/55 scale so it's off but a good condition one is a pretty model car.
>No Timmy, we have Wangang Midnight ad the home.
>>11930433>>11930435Neat find!
This was a cool find though! Another Siku Turbo Porsche, the Countach and Super GT are MatchBox. Pricing is all over, some want three or four euro for a played still available HW mainline and have them in a locked display case while having cars like in pic marked with a red sticker (€0,25) just carelessly tossed in a rummage basket.
>>11930437>TFW cannonball run with your hotwheels
are ottomobile/resin 1:18 cars worth it? i'm starting to resent cheap diecast quality/defects
>>11930433>>11930435I've got one of those. I bought it new in 1985 but gave it a janky paintjob to look like the Dakar livery.I'll take some photos and show it off once I've stripped it down and restored it to original WRC Group B look.
>>11930738>ottomobilegot a handful of them.they aren’t on the same level as Ignition or AutoArt, obviously, but certainly superior to jada/bburago stuff and the decent solido's.they are great static models, often featuring exclusive designs, excellent paint finish, the interior details are just meh and there are no opening parts. pretty heavy, they’re a bit fragilea great deal if you pre-order them directly from the manufacturer or buy them at around their list price (€70–€140). and do they roll? No.
>>11929321Just reminded me that Majorette is doing the E30 for their collection line.
>>11929280Congrats, anon. Always good to see someone find their holy grail.>>11930435>>11930435Congrats to you too. Love a good classic find like this that's in great working condition despite being a little worse for wear. Gives it character.
>>11930929I saw it. Horrible cast. Majorette has another purely toy one, which works for what it is but the Collection one is basically for noone. It's still not detailed enough for a scale model like Mini GT etc and looks very half assed. Spoiler sucks, wheels are ugly for a model. Details are nor good enough.Pic related is 'toy' version. It doesn't pretend to be Collector item, it's just a fine toy.
>>11931032I saw that Mortal 1:64 has a model of the same car but no idea how available they are now
>>11931095Funny you mention it, I have one. It’s ok. The wing comes separate and you have to glue it on yourself.
>>11930354More cars would be nice. Though, I'd say Rocket League's popularity has long since faded.
>>11931105What are your thoughts on the Kaido House/Mini GT M3? If you found one at a non-scalped price would you buy one?
>>11931032>Horrible castWe can always go lower, anons...
>>11931240Kaido house is decent, if the price is reasonable it's not a bad buy.
>>11931272I'm ok with that but not with>>11931032I want my diecast to either be extremely realistic or stylized like a matchbox/hotwheels with no inbetween.
Is it so much to ask for a decent 1:64 GTI that doesn't do these goofy proportions?
>>11931352Which generation are you looking for? There are several out there
>>11931357More recent, like Mk 7-8.
>>11931362These look decent.https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256811758214567.html
>>11931367i'm glad china is making pretty detailed diecasts of less popular diecast cars instead of another recreation of a fast and furious car
>>11931362Check Welly or Bburago. Bburago one is damn good.
>>11931568I've heard Bburago can be hit and miss, but Welly is a new one for me.
>>11931582Bburago is hit and miss in 1/64. And Golf is a hit in this case.Welly is probably the only chinese diecast maker still on market since 80s. Welly has so many distributions and releases it's hard to count. I have both old 80s Welly that even used Tomica-like wheels as well as more recent Welly casts. Recenty grabbed Welly R34 and R35.
>>11931638And also found vintage Dodge Coronet from the early era when Welly used to copy some casts from Yatming or Tomica.
>>11931639Along with my other 80s Welly collection.
And speaking of Golf. This is Welly Golf 8 GTi. I like how Welly tries to keep realistic proportions. Wheels are not as oversized as in Matchbox or Hot Wheels.
>>11931641I think that's what really bugs me about HW's GTI in particular. The wheels are ridiculously massive and it's really egregious in the front where you just have that tiny strip above it.
>>11931641>>11931568The chinese one from the aliexpress link looks the best. It has accurate rims.
>>11931759Of course looks the best, it's a display model. Bburago or Welly are just cheap toys. I still think Bburago one is pretty damn good for the price.
After all the recent posts about the E30 M3, I found a Hot Wheels one in a battered card missing its hook at the bottom of a bin. This is the first E30 I've ever found. I have taken this as a sign of good fortune from God, so I repaired the card's hook using an image of an intact card, a color printer, some clear coat and superglue.
>>11932088Hot wheels version is way too flat.
>>11932149I can kind of see where you're coming from but in all fairness the E30 is a very boxy car.
>>11932154Boxy, yes, but not flat. E30 Hot Wheels feels like someone stomped on it. Majorette got the proportions right but I'm jot a fan of opening door because of these gaps.
>>11932166
I hate how everything is preorders these days they take to long too.
>>11932369it's either that (with parking) or scalping madness
speaking of pre-orders...this thing looks pretty nice, hope the price won't be too high
what's the deal with F&F license? Barred classic HW and Jada, miniGT just launched his line and now this
I just got paid and the eBay listing of some unopened cars I wanted to buy was unavailable but I just checked again today and they're available for purchase again! Yay!
>>11932166I'm not too bothered with any of the proportions of the HW, Majorette, or even Maisto casts when pic related actually exists. I get that Lego tries to use as few custom pieces as possible, but their Speed Champions sets have been some of the ugliest renditions of licensed cars I've ever seen.
>>11932773Lego fans are like Warhammer fans now, a lot of coping and bitching but they still buy. They even have in common that most of them don't moc/convert but just build what is in the instructions.
>>11932773Some of them are okay but I agree that most of them are pretty bad. Other brick brands do a far better job at it, albeit with large specialized pieces and an abundance of decals.
>>11932773I generally hate LEGO vehicles. Even as a kid used LEGO for buildings and structures only. Cars or other vehicles always prefered diecast. At some point, LEGO also made diecast cars. I wish I had some of them.
