Is this true? Anymore examples?
>>11923635To be absolutely fair I think the soldier is the same sculpt but the mould has significantly degraded after nearly 60 years of production. No excuse for the Hot Wheels floor pan though.
>>11923635honestly its impressive they can still use the army man molds from 60 years ago, considering how many of those guys get shit out a year to dollar stores across the country
>>11923640Keeps it cheaper they just sell the more expensive bottom for a premium. Materials and production got more expensive. The cheaper one with no bottom keeps the 1.25 price while the old bottom still exists just costing more for people who care about that.
>>11923635The toy soldier is wrong. Top is the expensive brand. Middle is the big bag. And bottom is the china bootleger.>>11923733Why is it cheaper? Does those sculptings use up more plastic? I can only see that it is more expensive to keep those sculpts crisp and quality controll.
>>11923635People.
>>11923740More material and the plate is usable for multiple cars. They would just keep the nicer plates if they could. It makes the brand look better. They just wanted to keep the price tag low while keeping the part kids actually looked at detailed. Many kids dont even look at the bottoms of the cars. The price tag being low was seen as more important so they made a premium version that kept it while having a cheaper alternative.
I love the continued enshitification of everything
>>11923635ai-generated slop.while enshittification is a thing and a problem, there are real examples they could have easily used.for example the line of these "hot wheels" are different: assuming the image is real, the oldest one has molded wheels, which would mean its a premium model if its real. the 2012 looks somewhat real but the 2026 does not look real.i'm sure theres some people on this board that could prove this to us. a twin mill from these years or something or whatever other toy.
>>11923635Toy molds wear out, and not very toy-maker is keen on spending money on new ones.
>>11923740>>11923881That army man does not exist.
>>11924227not into army men or Hot Wheels for that matter but I knew there would be someone who knew and had proof.thank you, anon.
>>11923881ai fags are retarded
>>11924241To fill the Hot Wheels autism hole in the thread, it's total bullshit too. This is the newest mould I own that isn't supposed to have a flat undertray. There are more basic ones though, but they've been doing that for a very long time now, it's hardly new.
>>11923635Obviously there is a lot of enshittification these days but there are a lot of improvements as well. However it’s weird that things aren’t as good as they should be and many toy companies are regressing in certain areas.
>>11925094Is this Loss?
>>11925073The problem is what you have to do to attract customers. And what you have to sneak in that isnt too obvious scamming to generate profit for the shareholder. My opinion is that when you are open about real costs, prices and wages, customers would accept certain products. Ut companies cant do that, because than they have to say that some shareholders get millions and you have to swallow shitty product!
>>11923672"Rifle is now S-shaped" seems like the point where you'd want to make new molds
>>11926557
>>11926549Oh it got bigger but with less detail >>11926550No wait it got smaller but with more detail
>>11926597The Prime is actually supposed to be simple, and they fucked the proportions so any gains with the detailing are canceled out
>>11926550>>11926617Animated was the peak of Transformer engineering, it will never again be that good
>>11923635>>11923740what's the good brand for army men then? want to get some.
>>11923635>Is this true? It's not, that pics is ai, there's a synthID on it.
>>11926617>they fucked up the proportionsThat picture sure does. Fucker looks like a funhouse mirror.
>>11926811The new doesn't have a waist, feet or a neck
>>11926813It looks better though.
>>11926814If you're retarded, maybe.
>>11926853Nobody wants a toy that looks like a poorly drawn cartoon you Tooner.
>>11926896We aren't talking about G1 though. Animated was actually good.
>>11926921>brings up G1 out of nowhere Rentfree
>>11926926Tooner refers to the G1 cartoon, so no, it's not out of nowhere.
>>11926927>trying to change the meaning of Tooner >againYou never quit do you
>>11926928Tooner has ALWAYS referred to "people" obsessed with accuracy to the G1 cartoon despite the fact it couldn't keep accurate to itself. Always.
>>11926928"tooner" on this board has always colloquially meant fans on the original transformers cartoon and has for quite some time. you have to be new.
>>11926932>>11926975Literally a thread in the catalog where tooner was used to refer to characters who never were in the cartoon
>>11926981yes, another retard like yourself misusing the term. this has been toy lexicon for at least 10 years.
>>11926617The flames toys kit got it right so it literally just is Hasbro employees being incompetent retards. Someone needs to bootleg this and add a transformation like they did with the other FT figures.
>>11925038Yeah, this shit has been making the rounds to cultivate outrage for years, but now it's getting ridiculous, plus OP's image is blatantly AI. I've got modern cars that have chassis sculpting, and some cars from my childhood that have none. It's just cherrypicking.Your pic, however, shows something I've only noticed HWs doing in recent years, which is clever layered molding of the plastic parts. Stuff like tailpipes, grills, and headlights are often molded as part of the interior piece or window piece so they can be different from the rest of the body and chassis without requiring paint apps or tampographs. The Volvo drift wagon is a good example. The grill and exhaust are a part of the interior, the headlights are part of the windshield, and the bumper is a part of the chassis, which lets them all be distinct from each other without needing a single paint app. It's a good way of making use of existing construction and materials to amplify detail without costing anything.
Got this for 99 cents, feel like it will need some cleaning, any ideas on how? Paint on top meanwhile looks great.
>>11927722Looks like old Summer. Nothing to clean there. Chrome just falls off. Common for Summer.
>>11927722>>11927835DeTomaso Pantera?
>>11923635Jesus Christ
>>11927889Hold on got to find where It went, should be able to find it in a bit.
>>11927968>>11927889Here, found it, should be easier to id like this.
>>11925410no.
