This is the only figure from today's listings that interests me, but it still looks like a sidegrade at best from the voyager. Think I'm going to skip him.
    >>
    >>11922034
Galvatron canon inflated in the show, so any size is possible.
    >>
    $30 deluxes are rough, man . . .

Makes me wonder is hasbro is treating Cyberworld as the "cheaper" scale since we don't get legends/cores anymore. I kind of wouldn't mind if they continued with these $20 prime changers as well.
    >>
    >>11922589
The cartoonline has been the cheaper alternative for over a decade now. Since RiD15 and they've been downgrading in quality ever since. Everything is getting more expensive its the hellscape we live in and while I hate that they're getting more expensive I'd rather prices go up then have something as cheap and bad feeling as the Combiner Wars and Thrilling 30-era toys felt.
    >>
    >>11922558
also, while they are trying their best these days, transformers still don't have a TON of articulation. It's rare that one can just sit in a chair, and if he can, it had better be exactly the right height. Hell, these days, a lot of transformers can sit on their own calves, they have such tiny short thin thighs and huge bulky calf kibble.. so like, beyond standing and using their arms, there's not a ton they can 'use'
    >>
    >>11922564
in theory.. but it's hard to make stuff at that size, and it'd cost a mint. and nobody but the richest can afford a room big enough to house a ship diorama like that. especially since it would surely be MP scale
    >>
    >>11922597
    >these days, a lot of transformers can sit on their own calves, they have such tiny short thin thighs and huge bulky calf kibble
    "These days" he says
    That's been normal for years
    >>
    >>11922605
at least that guy has decently-sized thighs, and the knees aren't at the very front of the legs.
but yes, it's been a problem as long as knees have existed. even in other mecha stuff.
    >>
    >>11922597
Transformers articulation is inconsistent since its so dependent on their engineering and sometimes we don't get wrists because budget had to go elsewhere. Or there's no waist swivel since it would impact the figure's structural integrity.
    >>
    >>11922609
    indeed.
also good LORD >>11922605 those are some tiny hands. Even that OSKO Bluebolts is like 'jesus, get bigger hands'

That's kinda how japanese transforming robot toys have always been. The ones from Takara, at least. Short thighs, giant shines/calves.

SORT OF. but not typically the idiot-y way they do it now. For one thing, the torsos were usually smaller so it fits. for another, the thigh joints usually went up UNDER the skirt armor, not just starting at that point.. you can see how these robots could.. well, not sit, but at least get into a power stance.

    >Bluestreak is already split apart at the waist before removing him from the ties and has a really noticeable scratch on the bumper
    >Mirage looks fine
I don't know whether to be aggravated at the consistently horrible QC from Hasbro or feel like I won the lottery that one of my figures in a 3-pack was actually acceptable.
    >>
    >>11922629
I've always hated the color breakup of most Bayverse designs and this really reminds me of why. Its just a hunk of silver with little drops of red and dull gold. None of the details pop, everything blends together. It looks like a fine overall figure but its drab. The Autobots aren't as bad but the Decepticons are bad. Most of them are just hunks of silver. It makes for a boring toy.
    >>
Has it ever been discussed why Hasbro chose to make two decos of the shitty Diaclone van mold for the first year of Transformers? There were still figures from a variety of lines they could have released before them. It was an odd choice to do these two instead of releasing the Firetruck mold in year one or doing a second figure from the Sunstreaker mold.
    >>
    >>11922671
They wanted two big guys, and it went better than expected to be fair but that was mostly marvel and sunbrow’s writers carrying it
    >>
    >>11922682
I mean don't get me wrong I love Ratchet and Ironhide but it seems like an odd choice to prioritize those molds for the first year and to use it twice.
    >>
    >>11922657
yeahhh it works a lot better in the actual movies, where they tend to have a solid light-over-dark look. but in the toys... there's a reason the mainline releases added more color.
    >>11922687
I have to think they knew there was all this anticipation 'how are they going to Missing Link the vanette guys?' and figured, get it out of the way.
I also wonder if maybe they're no longer able to keep molds around for years and years like they used to. warehouses have gotta be skyrocketing in price.
    >>
    >>11922693
I'm not talking about Missing Link I mean back in 1984 where they chose the van mold over other options when it was easily the worst mold of the bunch. I wanted to know if anyone has ever talked about it in an interview.
    >>
    >>11922703
    ohhh
probably because it was cheap. plus vanettes are cool, even if the robut isn't.

    >>
    >>11922687
    >>11922703
The real answer is probably that the Vanette had already been released in Takara's American Diakron line so Hasbro probably saw it as an obvious release. Tie that to the idea of the good guys having a medic which would obviously be an ambulance and you have Ironhide and Ratchet
    >>
The Decepticons should have an ambulance too.
There's a Decepticon medic who should turn into one but I don't recall his name now.

    >>
    >>11922746
G1 Oilslick also transformers into an ambulance though he's only repurposed character. I would really like a Decepticon medic who turns into a hearse.
    >>
    >>11922757
A Decepticon medic should turn into a trustworthy looking ambulance, and then when a wounded person gets put in, the bot transforms and mangles all occupants inside him
    >>
    >>11922776
    >Barricade: "To punish and enslave"

    >>
    >>11922810
That's what Oilslick is. He's Ratchet with an eyepatch in his movie colors. Also Go Hunters Ratchet was a Decpticon version of the character and that figure was the other inspiration for Oilslick.

I prefer him too. I love that guy and I think he should have gotten a legacy figure in the Toxitron subline. He's not G2 but he and Toxitron would go so well together.

I really do like the Go Hunters Ratchet design though and I like the concept of G1 Oilslick. I just wish he had another name.
    >>
    >>11922740
Smolder from PCC is kind of an ambulance. He's meant to be a first responder or fire utility vehicle, but he's clearly an ambulance and was recolored into one.
    >>

It is really funny that the three top Decepticon medics are a construction worker, a cat, and a guy whose name means “to die”

This mold's planet key gimmick always bothered me. I give a lot of leeway to questionable things in altmodes, you can potentially explain away a lot of shit that looks like it'd be an issue. But you cannot tell me that having giant flap open up that's going AGAINST the air would not be catastrophic while in flight. I'm not a physicist or anything, but that sucker is going to crash.

    >>11922853
    h ah ayea
    >>
    >>11923221
This. The old Voyager had the jet wings wrap around his legs and give him a bulky backpack, which was great for making his transformation actually functional but left him with bits hanging off that weren't visible in the movie. This new one fixes that issue by having the kibble detach completely, with the added bonus of being able to combine the bits to make a reference to his originally intended dragon mode, but the dragon wasn't the reason the kibble was made detachable in and of itself. Those grooves on his chest are presumably where his jet landing gear bits plug into when in alt mode (in robot mode, they either plug in behind his shield or form his pet dragon's legs).

gotta say, transformers has done an amazing job of keeping a lot of things consistent for years, like 5mm shit. it's not EVERY figure of course, but the fact that some figures today can use weaps from 40 years ago...
    >>

    >>11923566
oh, okay. That looks like ultramarine blue. Ultramarine blue is easy enough to get, though it's hard to get a nice bright saturated one in the form of the typical model paint e.g. vallejo. But that just means more thinning and more coats. And with what you have left, youll be able to customize Netflix Cheetor, maybe. Is it metallic? hard to say from here.
    >>
    >>11923571
I own zero Cheetors, but the fact that ultramarine blue exists is a bit relieving
And it's slightly metallic yes, would I need primer for this, and where would I test the paint on, since it would have to be the right colour and kind of plastic that somehow isn't this figure, and could I just wipe it off or would I risk making things worse as someone who owns zero paints and zero brushes
    >>
    >>11923576
the worse paint you use, the more you're gonna need primer. and like I said, the GOOD paint.. never seems to have proper bright blue (vallejo makes an ultramarine, but it looks more like a navy jacket).
Considering it's metallic, you might actually do well to go with something transparent, so you can lay down a layer of silver first. That'll also help with brightness.. but it's a tough call, and a bit of an investment to start getting paint and brushes just for this tiny fix

now that said, that's literally what got me into painting and customizing. Netflix Cheetor's fucking shins, and a positive ID on their color. But I also did the stupid, and got _paint_ paint. like paint for a canvas. that isn't the best on a toy. What color is it beneath the scrape? That makes a difference.
Additionally, if this actually did scrape off from normal handling, then you'll probably want a topcoat. though I'm told there are some primers that will just fucking GRIP paint and not let go. The likes of MTN Plastic Primer? So.. hm.
In any case, if you need somewhere to test the paint, I suggest the bottoms of his feet, or some really well-hidden kibble piece.

This is a lot of investment for one little scrape, but I dunno how big it is, how much it's bugging you... you might be better off just grabbing a blue sharpie and saying 'good enough' I mean if it's white underneath. Iunno. Sorry I couldn't give you really direct instructions, but that's kinda how it is, and I've had to find it out myself the hard way in the last 7 years (my old customs fucking sucked, even when i had like, that Testors enamel kinda paint)
    >>
    >>11923580
    Man...
do they even have blue sharpie
    >it's a tough call, and a bit of an investment to start getting paint and brushes just for this tiny fix
This has happened every few years of my life, but I should get at least a gold sharpie although it won't help here, albeit sometimes sharpie just seems to slide off plastic while other times it adheres quite well
There's no way that sharpie will melt paint or take paint away if I decide to wipe off what's hopefully just the sharpie right

oh yeah, honestly sharpies look great these days. they've removed that weird purple metallic sheen, I've been using them more and more, particularly for joints that will scrape otherwise. or for filling in existing paint scrapes.
    >gold sharpie
now in that situation (and yes, those exist and are okay), you could go for a gold paint marker. Those suckers are incredible, and really shiny chrome if used properly, and on a smooth surface (never 'scribble' just smooth strokes). but that might actually be too much to replicate most figure plastic
    >melt
no way, that's more of a concern for the likes of lacquer-based paint (the kinda shit that requires thinner to remove from brushes. like fuckin.. plastic cement)
    >take paint away
... I can't promise it won't. it is alcohol-based, but... as long as you don't immediately rub hard on the sharpie'd part, I can't imagine it would.

    All of them are.

I did never get the hate for bayformer movies and liked most of them until I realized that outside of 3 decepticons I have no fucken idea what is going on. There is megatron(becasue he talks and is named) star scream and the rest are ugly metal smashed together.

Same for the other movies all decepticons look like trash metal.

However to be fair is form alien race showed up they probably look like total trash and you will have problems detecting who is who as a human.

However I never imagine that people actually like that shit face look.
    >>
    >>11923283
    >>11923660
OH shit forgot! The Bayformer movies have problems like lots of them.

One that I found was that the character names are not overused. In all media you overuse someeoens name.

There was this space bounty hunter movie and I literally needed to look up online what his name is.

His name is lockdown. Here is the thing this name is spoken 1 time in the entire movie and it is by some human who shouts lockdown and the canon for face robot shoots.

I was fucken thinking that the human was talking about creating a lockdown in this operation or something because it is not a real sentence.

    Or was it
    >We have lockdown
    To some humans?

I have no idea why Michel Bay is like that.
    >>
    >>11923662
I feel like part of the problem is how cartoony and childish some of the Transformers naming is. Overusing words like Decepticon, Bumblebee, and Starscream in a live action setting just sounds even more ridiculous. I almost feel like they should use the Japanese term Destron instead, and then give all the Transformers “civilian” names like Pax, Tronus, Bii, etc (and their traditional names can be used sparingly as military titles).
    >>
    >>11923664
NTA, but literally anytime I hear one Transformer refer to another by name in any TF media I assume it's because the writers were obligated to remind the kids what toys to ask for.

    >is how cartoony and childish
Realistically they actually are not, some special ops use code names all the time.

    So that is for reality.

As for the in universe they are alien names or aliens the handful of lines can be made into deep lore (that no one planed!) where their english names are actually attempts to localize their real name (who are a bunch of mechanical sounds) who mean something like "the crushing one" or "the one who destroys by motions of inner kinetic force" or"vigilante song of the stars in rage" and this gets translated into crusher or starscream.

So no I do not have a problem with their names.

And wait until you find out that in real life some normal names in other languages are actually curse words or sound silly.

For example Immanuel Kant is actually pronounces Immanuel CUNT (People try to hide this by saying it differently like KaaaNt)

    > just sounds even more ridiculous.
This brings up multiple questions like how the fuck is Hasbro allowing these movies?

You have no name drops and no iconic looks.
This leads to the problem that like 50% of the main cast are literally smashed together metal that has no name.
    >Literally who?
Is a question you often will ask yourself if you are not deep into the brand.

Or try to fan fame them

    >The damage Transformers The Last Knight did to the brand
This is just overstated cope from people who hate Michael Bay. The real damage from the brand came from Hasbro blowing all their money trying to tie everything into one universe with the whole binder of revelation/aligned shit back in 2011 that ended up causing a snowball effect for everything else.
Hasbro also relied too much on one particular avenue of media (cartoons and movies) instead of creating a brand that people of all generations would continue to buy into. This is why theaters showing the next slopformers movies are always empty and people only talk about capeshit no matter how bad it gets.

The Last Knight is a shit movie but it wasn't this uniquely shit movie that tanked everything. Kids stopped going to theaters because gaming was a better alternative, nerdslop movies were/are still dying and VFX diminishing returns have been clear as day since the first avengers movie

The movie toys have sold less and less units over time because of TF2's toyline and a lesser extent TF3's toyline.

TF2's toys were widely criticized by parents for being too complicated and hard for young kids to transform properly. This resulted in TF3 and beyond having super dumbed down kiddy toys the 95% of each subsequent movie line. Combined with the fact that, for TF 2 and 3, Hasbro went hog wild with Bumblebee, with him being 3 to 4 per case. Resulting in shelves being filled with unwanted Bumblebee toys.

Current Deluxe Swerve sucks donkey balls. T30 Swerve is pure perfection!
    >>
On the negative side, T30 Tailgate sucks. The crotch piece doesn't lock in meaning his lower torso is floppy as hell. And the figure is super plain white plastic and the flame decals are WTF since neither the IDW or G1 version has them. Almost makes me want to buy the new CHUG version.

(IMO) shoulder width really effects how feminine a figure looks, more than limb thickness.
Hip width / thigh thickness is also important.

    >The movie toys have sold less and less units over time because of TF2's toyline
No, the toyline sold less because Marvel was becoming the new big thing for reasons I already mentioned. Nearly every kid back in 2009 that had ROTF figures didn't care about how complex they were because kids are good at figuring out shit like that due to the way their brains work
    >TF2's toys were widely criticized by parents for being too complicated and hard for young kids to transform properly.
They said the same thing with Pokemon games around that time, the types of cartoons they were showing on TV got heavily scaled back to being more advertiser friendly
It's very convenient that every single company decided to heavily scale back and dumb down all their products so heavily within the same 2-3 year (2010-2012) and all had the same excuse of "parents complained their kids didn't like it" right after one of the biggest global financial crashes in history.

    >>Last couple of issues of MTMTE was garbage Prowl wank to set up Sentinel Prime's return, which was Has to mandated, resulting I writers revolting and turning him into a Trump stand in and then getting pissy when fans loved this take on Sentinel Prime (as they used him to shit on critics of the increasingly woke aspects of the line and garbage plots fans had been criticizing for being shitty)

    >>Most of the first year of Lost Light revolved around OC characters including a tranny character that no one wanted. And Rodimus suddenly being purple.

    >>We also didn't get any answers about the coup until LL 10-12 and even then we don't revisit Getaway for another ten issues.

    >>Lost Light in general was utter garbage the entire length of the rebrand showing that Roberts should have been fired, the Knights of Cybertron crap abandoned as a tune waste, and the characters sent back to Earth to beat Oriel and Arcee to death and her Prime back on track and help kick Unicorn's ass.

Hasbro getting more involved with the comics was such a death sentence for IDW.

I don't expect one. Blaster likely got a SG cassette because he doesn't have as many cassettes as Soundwave and three of the four regular cassettes left already had their molds used in this set. Also Blackcat is a gag character. Soundwave has a lot more options to chose from.

You know what also weirds me out? everyone's so fucking paranoid about anyone seeing your kids... ever. in any context. like even in burqas.
So almost nobody who, say, does internet videos about video games or toys or tv shows for a living or whatever, includes their kids in it..

so here the kids today have the potential to live our DREAMS, where our parents have cool jobs and are actually interested in stuff, but... they're shooed away like it's 1910 and kids should be locked up in a nursery til they're ready to go fight in the war. So kids aren't interested in toys, or tv, or anything. Not saying causative, but it's truly a bizarre outcome. Obviously the vast majority of us didn't have kids at all, but every so often I'm watching a toy review, or a game map deep dive, and the guy mentions his kids and I'm just like wtf. no skits or anything with them.. no co-op gameplay.. of course, because then youtube would ban you.

Been rewatching some Beast Wars episodes and I just noticed Kingdom Optimus Primal was holding his swords backwards the whole time.
    >>
    >>11925375
eh... no, i'm afraid it's canon Primal who had his swords backwards. those are scimitars. they make less than no sense curved AWAY from the target. That part of the blade he's got facing forward isn't like a Sokka club or anything, it's called the 'yalman' and while it can be sharpened, it's definitely not supposed to be like, hitting you.. it's supposed to be sliding in as you slide the tip into someone, and cutting them worse. essentially giving you a taste of being a double-edged sword despite being a curved sword.
    >>
    >>11925375

    >>11925400
I think the really long scimitars are for that, yeah. The thick kind with the classic 'pirate cutlass' shape, I think is more for rough, hard chopping. The rumkah or whatever it's called.. provides extra weight at the tip.
    >Rhinox is just cool with that
indeed, he's a bro. The preds got two flying guys, two all-terrain scuttlers, and two potentially fast theropods, but the maximals basically had one fast scout, one hole-wriggler, one guy who can operate buttons in beast mode, and one whose job is to be the mule and carry everyone around.. and on top of that, he's actually pretty small for a rhino. If you compare a gorilla to this game warden...
    >>

Oh right, pirates have cutlasses too, I don't know how that shape was determined
Man, I wish Rhinox had a good toy, he wasn't like, a gigachad king aside from when he went evil, somehow wasn't picked as interim leader although I guess you could have just relied on him to keep Rattrap advised and accountable, but he was a reliable friend

    >You know what else deeply weirds me out? The modern, all-consuming paranoia surrounding the absolute invisibility of children in the digital sphere, regardless of context. We have reached a point where societal anxiety over a child being seen online is so intense it borderlines on the absurd.
This hyper-vigilance creates a bizarre disconnect, especially among creators who make a living producing content about video games, toys, or pop culture. These creators have accidentally stumbled into what should be a child’s absolute dream scenario: parents with cool, creative jobs who are genuinely passionate about the same media their kids consume. In theory, this should be the ultimate golden age of collaborative, multi-generational bonding. Instead, the reality looks shockingly regressive. Children are routinely shooed off-camera and scrubbed from the narrative, treated less like a part of the family and more like a liability that needs to be locked away in a 1910s nursery until they are old enough to enlist. We have weaponized "protection" to the point of complete alienation. While it might not be a direct case of cause-and-effect, this enforced isolation has yielded a tragic outcome: kids today seem detached from toys, traditional television, and tangible hobbies. The vast majority of the community didn't have kids at all, but for the few who did, the dynamic is truly baffling. You watch a toy review, and the guy mentions his kids in passing—yet there are no fun skits, no collaborative unboxings, and no casual gameplay videos. The tragedy is that this isn't even entirely the parents' fault. The corporate ecosystem has institutionalized this paranoia. Creators are forced into compliance because the moment a child steps into the frame, corporate rules threaten to ban them.

I got Rhinox in the boxset recently and I admit he's not the star of the set but I like him quite a bit. Near double articulated knees, a really good butterfly joint and good movement in his shoulders, backpack doesn't really get in the way. Guns are a bit small but they are painted, and his fake chest is a bit disappointing. Still a solid figure that you can get a lot of good poses out of. T30 Rhinox meanwhile is a series of really awkward joint placement. The waist swivel is awkward, the arms are awkward, his shoulders are awkward. He has a really poor center of balance. The guns have a neat gimmick though.

    >>

    Hm, valid.
I think the tiebreaker for me is that the Kingdom mold was based on a mobile game, so there's just a lot about it that's.. subtly wrong, especially around the face.

Now let's brainstorm recolors for this mold knowing we'll never get them. Hard mode: no existing 'fox kids' repaints or whatever.
I think the rhino would look good either jet black or snow white, something about those colors on a rhino feels cool. and then the robot mode would be purple or... hmm what's a good robot mode color for a white rhino.

Blokees and Furai are cheap model kits
Yolopark and ThreeA are hyper detailed
The Flames Toys sub line Kuro Kara Kuri are stylized and very premium.
It's why RED and Super7 are so egregiously dogshit. They offer genuinely nothing besides being simulacra of some fat boomer's childhood.

For those people it's more about the character and their own nostalgia than anything else. They'd rather buy a cheap Optimus/Megatron than get something they're not even going to transform.

    >>
    >>11926085
Maybe, but it's not a Transformer - at that point, you may as well just ditch the franchise entirely and just start buying generic robot toys. The transformation gimmick is the franchise's entire identity, the thing the whole concept is built around.
Personally, I transform a few of my 'bots every week - one shelf this week, another next, and so on - plus I tend to keep one or two characters with simpler/more fun transformations right by my computer as a sort of fidget toy to quickly mess with when I'm bored (right now it's KSI Widow - something about how her entire roof collapses into her legs is pretty satisfying).
    >>
I finally opened the Alternity and GTR I found and Optimus has a broken foot joint which was expected but disappointing, and Fort Max has a really fucked up torso that is really disappointing. (I knew about the broke mirror.)And I cant put his doors right without scraping paint. Amazing looking figures with amazing alt modes but they have too many issues. I wish we still got a sequel to Altenators/Binaltech/Altenity though. Legends comica do carry on the insane lore at least.

I also bought a 1:32 Jada optimus to go with them because they're also 1:32. Except it's not. It's just long enough to fit in a 1:32 box unless I severely underestimated the size of a mack truck. I also bough their Nissans to go with these guys cause they're the same model and they're slightly more smaller so fuck me for trying to care about scale I guess.

It's very nice that you think that but the fact they're built like shit really is the icing on the cake.
If they were well made they would just be a glorified action figure i.e. there would be no reason to get one as your average transformers figure could do all of that as well especially since everything is gearing towards cartoon accuracy. They would still offer virtually nothing.

    >AotP hasn't really produced a remake release based on an older release that's been good so far, At least to me
You just listed four right after this. I love the original Drift but his shoulders really fucking suck. Age of the Primes has been really solid. The worst of the 13 is still a solid figure. I think my only big complaint is Onslaught (not Bruticus) is a bit of a let down. No gun and no wrists is inexcusable.
    >>
    >>11926677
How else would he pewpew the bad guys?
    >>
    >>11926673
Whatever they were priced they sold well enough that Hasbro created 4 new molds and continued releasing them in dollar stores for years afterwards. I really hope Gobots Megatron leads to some modern releases for the RiD Spychangers. I want R.E.V and Crosswise.
    >>
    >>11926678
Yeah, I still own Drift and while I like how he looks, he's so awkward to handle:

-Bulky feet, and the actual foot is tiny (and the foot is clear plastic)
-Hip sccabards get in the way of everything, it needed another hinge to move them all the way to the back for easier posses.
-Bendy swords (not even sure why this was a thing, Blurr's guns were hard plastic).
-The shoulders getting in the way of everything.

I don't expect Hasbro to make a better toy though.

    >>
    >>11926678
Yea hence why I said personally I don't really think we've gotten good remakes so far except those 4 who DO stand out.
I'm loving the original Drift even tho absolutely his shoulders are kinda stiff. Not as bad as this Skids mold tho
I've genuinely enjoyed almost all the Primes so far too but absolutely agree, The Onslaught is so disappointing with no wrists, no weapon and feelin kinda clunky
I HAVE still found fun in messing with him but fuck, Hinged hands on a peg would go absolutely wild on him
    >>
    >>11926686
I love messing with mine too but the hands are a real let down. More so than the gun, I can get a gun, but the hands suck. Bruticus is a total 10/10 though. Very expressive and nails pretty much every pose I put him in. I wish I could take pictures right now but my set up is in shambles due to moving.

I feel like if you can't tell what's going on in those movies you might be autistic or retarded. Even when I first watched the first movie as a kid the movements of what was going on and could tell who every character was because despite being overdesigned they had very clear silhouettes and/or very distinct features that separate one another.

Stuff like the 3rd act of ROTF and arguably DOTM does have this issue but that's less of a design issue and more of a pacing/cinematography issue where too much is going on at once.

    >>
    >>11926799
    >>11926829
I own GFG and GGGG and they're not free of problems though. Something really weird is that they messed up the mold of Stealth Gao III and one of the spaces for the black spikes of the helmet is not there, so when you store it it's slightly crooked and you can potentially scratch paint. It also makes the deployable joint for Liner Gao II to not line up perfectly in hypersonic flight mode, so you are slightly forcing it. I had to fix that and also one extremely tight transformation joint of Gadget Gao that made me feel I was going to end up snapping the whole bird belly mechanism. Speaking of Gadget, it has two pegs that should connect to the blue arms that hold the intakes (Genesic's forearms) in bird mode, looking at the prototype there's round recesses were the pin joints are that line up perfectly with the pegs, but they're flat in the final product. Most of those are minor things but they just feel like changes and oversights in the designing process.

Also Genesic's hip ratchets are way too soft for the one with the heaviest backpack, and the elbow connections could be better.

They really would benefit from being bigger too, I have no problems transforming them but they still feel somewhat finicky due to the size. Had these two been double the size or even match the original GGG DX toy they would cost a fortune but damn, they would have been super fun to handle and way more impressive.

    >A $2 cheapo toy back in the day with minimal articulation still managed to come with his own gun
Profit margins get tighter as toys get bigger, since it's an exponential increase in plastic, but not an exponential increase in cost. Tossing a tiny piece of plastic in with a tiny toy is negligible. Tossing a larger piece of plastic in with a larger toy becomes more of a hit. To you, it's just a case of "why the heck wouldn't you?" but a CEO has a report that tells them the exact dollar amount they would lose by doing this.

it's funny, this was the first guy we saw, and he looked SO perfect and cool to me
but the more I look at his model, and the accurate toys of it, the less I like it. his feet are ten times the size of his legs.. the formerly cool looking hunched-over back hump now just looks like it messes up the head and shoulders area.. eh. Still neat to see creative designs at all, but.

    >autistic or retarded
if anything, wouldn't autists be better at keeping track of it? This is a relatively brief time in human history, and largely just in a few nations. The post war boom is a terrible example to use for money coming "magically", the boom years happened because of a massive uptick in population, businesses, technology, etc. You pay these people to work, it puts money into the economy.
Your NEET fantasy is unsustainable because robots don't need money. Your desire for automation isn't going to lead to you having more toys and more free time. Why would it?
