How many full size Buzz color variants did they do and why was he seemingly the only character that they did this with?
>>11916454>why was he seemingly the only character that they did this with?Original main character they can modify any way they want + a fully plastic astronaut suit its easier to repaint than a cloth doll
>>11916460This, plus he was the actual kind of toy that likely would have gotten a ton of color variants.
>>11916454He represents the cool, super-commercial mass-produced toy. It's easy to imagine that there would be many variants and different toys based on the character in-universe vs the simpler times Woody.
>>11916454Pixar owns him.Other TS toys, like Mister Potato Head, were existing toys owned by or trademarked by some conglomerate, and the cloth soft goods mentioned here>>11916460
>>11916454I regret what a flop Lightyear was. I hope they fired whoever ran that terrible movie, because it killed off the toyetic market potential the regular Story toys had
>>11919286>I regret what a flop Lightyear was.I have never had such a massive excitement to disappointment whiplash when it came to collecting toys based on a movie. I was all in on the designs and the different spaceships. I liked how they kind of looked like a fusion of the X-Wing, Arwing, and 60s to modern fighter jets, and the marketing gave the impression that they would feature heavily in the film, only for them to appear in a 10 minute montage and the rest of the film be about how much Buzz sucks compared to the donutsteele black chick. Fucking waste of time.Never buying toys before seeing a film again.
>>11919286>>11921107I'm very happy this glup shitto wholesome nostalgia member berries brand is dead and deserves to die given how fucking lame forky is as a toy and actual plastic is waste making a fucking fork character toy>OH BUT IT HAS A PIGY BANK, AND MR POTATO HEAD LIKE FROM THE GOOD OLD DEPRESSION ERA, AND A ROOTIN TOOTIN COWBOY ITS SO NOSTALGIC AND WHOLESOME ITS LIKE THOSE OLD TIMEY GRANDPA AND GRANDMA MEBER BERRIES
>>11921107>Never buying toys before seeing a film again.Well yeah. You should only buy toys because they're great toys, not because you watched something. Despite the shit movie, SHF Buzz is best Buzz. Also got me a Z-Bot because it's a cool tall Yellow Devil
>>11921121You get triggered by such bizarre things, chungusfurry. It must be difficult being singaporean and angry all the time.
>>11916454>>11916454Between thinkway, hasbro, and mattel plus the various scales each company handled there's been atleast a hundred buzz variations. As to why they did it with Buzz, I suppose he was just the more bleeding edge of the duo. Woody did get his share of variants however. Sometimes they were built around specific gimmicks, other times they were completely cloth dolls. In the wake of Toy Story 3, Mattel got better at doing more variants of the main cast. We were getting regular waves centered around a core theme with everyone in playtime costumes. That sadly ended somewhere in the mid to late 2010's. Since then, with no help from the god awful sequels, things have gotten really bare bones. The japanese atleast still do their share of cool things with the IP. Plenty of combiners, diecast cars, transformers, etc.
>>11921362Don't forget gay.
>>11921715>with no help from the god awful sequels5 fixed what 4 destroyed, but yeah. 3 was the last real "sell toys" movie because of four characters, but I believe it's only minimal anymore because we lost Toys R Us
>>11921814The insistence on the part of current year disney to make all these pretentious "poignant" sequels is beyond unforgivable. When you're handed the cash cows, and you break even them, your career just ought to be old yellered on the whole. The fact that mattel's taken to merchandising fucking bonnie in the wake of all this strikes me as all the stranger, but alas, the damage is done.Frankly they had the most obvious option for infinite sequels right in front of their noses in Toy Story 3's intro sequence. They should have just centered a bunch of movies on stories born from Andy's playtime with the toys. Just like lightyear should have been a big budget BLoSC adaption.
>>11922007>It has grossed $1.148 billion worldwide, breaking various box office records and becoming Pixar's biggest worldwide opening weekend. It is the third-highest-grossing film of 2026, the highest of the franchise, and the tenth highest-grossing animated film.good thing they don’t listen to your stupid ass
>>11922007>They should have just centered a bunch of movies on stories born from Andy's playtime with the toysLego Movie did that already.
>>11922011>pigs eat slop, why don't you?>>11922024And it was good.
>>11921137>You should only buy toys because they're great toys, not because you watched something. That's true, and I do greatly enjoy the spaceships as their own thing, it's just with how fucking terrible the movie was there is a level of taint to them now from associated disappointment.
>>11921121Mr Morrow is heckin wholesome, fuck Kino Casino for shitting on him.
