>There are growing rumors in Italy that after the announcement of the new joint Inter/Milan stadium, the owners of the club (both americans) are studying the hyptothesis of a union of the two clubs within a decade or so>The new club may be named "FC Milano", using a three color shirt (red/black/Blue)Would /sp/ approve it?
lmao it's not happening, what's your sauce?
>>158420484I will never get tired of Europeans making up rumors and hypothetical claims about Americans and then getting mad about them
I'm sure the fans of both clubs will happily agree to this
>>158420484lel yeah no not even Americans are that stupid
I hope you didn't waste too many tokens on that retarded image
>>158420484Come on, this is absolutely impossible. They absolutely must know fans would kill them. And why would they share the clubs they own?None of this makes sense, and it’s not a funny joke either
Why sell 2 tickets when you can sell 1 ticket?
It's a simple calculation: what revenue do both clubs make respectively? The merged club would have to make more than both combined. Everyone knows this won't be possible, especially since like 90% of fans would riot and turn away from the club(s) in such a situationThese two clubs actually make the most money when playing against each other, everyone knows their rivalryI heavily doubt this was ever discussed
You dont understand how american companies work>The merge alone will make them earn billions on market stock spikes>They dont give a fuck about locals fans. A club with 10+ CLs cups will immediately attract legions of third wordles customers "fans" to quickly replace them>Everyone will need to re-buy their club merchandising, basically forcing fans to buy again something they already brought>One team, half the costs (cost cuts > anything else)>1 ticker overpriced for the billionarie foreign customers that want one super club > two average tickers form old fans
>>158420484This is the dumbest fakest thing I've ever seen lmaoJust anything to hate Americans
>changes from calcio to franchise>moves it to LAHoly based AmeriBVLLs
>>158420484If that happened, hopefully the ultras would start assassinating people and committing terror attacks.
>>158420885>>158421218>>158420853>germdrones say it's not happeningfuck, it's absolutely happening now
>growing rumorslol
Does it even matter anymore? They shut out organized fans after what happened to Gabriele Sandri almost 20 years ago, now Italian stadiums are empty and dead. If all those modern badges designed to be a logo of an app tell you anything, it's that the illustrious history, identity of or community around a club doesn't matter.Just look at this new design for San Siro. Instead of the legendary old stadium, it's just some nothing design. It's exchangeable, a stadium as manifested footballslop. They play for nothing but money. It could as well been Team 1, Team 2, and so on.
It would be funny to see, but I can't imagine anyone being delusional enough to try
>>158423513>I can't imagine anyone being delusional enoughWhy not?
>>158423535Because it would mean absolutely not knowing their clubs and brands at all. "American owners" or not, what American businessman group would propose and plan merging the New York Yankees and the New York Mets? And it's so much tougher in Europe. These clubs are both European greats, they are fierce rivals. If you have any say in that club, you know you cannot pull off a merger. So many fans would completely chimp out - and that's bad for business. I also don't see why you as a club owner would want to share your club (and its profits). Especially Inter has little to win, they've been securing a pretty dominant spot in recent years on their own alreadyI cannot imagine a guy with power in any of these clubs proposing such a thing and getting that idea to advance to a serious stage. It would require absolutely everyone in both clubs to be insane
>>158423590What if money?Local fans might chimp but imagine all the thirdies that might buy shirts.
>>158423590>Especially Inter has little to winho ho, you don't know well enough the mentality behind those locusts to comprehend or imagine exactly what's their driving force>they've been securing a pretty dominant spot in recent years on their own already>on their ownROFLMAO
>>158423631They'd lose the vast majority of Italian fans in such a scenario, and even a big share of the global bandwagoners can be expected to say "Inter sucks, >we are the one true club in Milan" (and vice versa). You need a metric ton of new customers, why would these clubs think they get these people, but ONLY via a merger? In fact, Inter existing is a good thing for AC and the other way round, the city derby is a big thing and profitable for bothAnd again, they would have to share everything. Inter has a revenue of ~550 million and recently made a net profit of 23 million. AC Milan has a revenue of ~450 million and recently made a loss of 23 million, after having made a profit three years in a row before. A merged club would have to be absolutely huge for both owner groups to make a profit, I don't see that being realistic. And someone would have to call the shots. Why would Inter accept a 50/50 deal if they currently have the upper hand? Why would AC Milan accept a minority control when they could have a club on their own like before?
>>158423654Is Inter currently more successful than AC Milan? Yes or no? They have finished above them regularly, they have a higher revenue, more profit, won more titles. I suppose you're the guy who posts how Inter is corrupt every five seconds, but even if that's true: it's apparently working. And if all of Serie A is super corrupt and in Inter's pockets, why would they share that with another owner/club? And why would another club risk merging with such a corrupt entity that might at some point collapse? It doesn't make sense
>>158423700None of this football romanticism matters. They would retain Italian bandwagoners from outside Milan, those still support Inter or Milan despite having no connection to the club, bandwagoners are, for all intents and purposes, thirdies.Even Red Bull can fill a stadium in Leipzig despite Lok and Chemie being around. Old fans might found new and real successors. So what? 7.000 go to see Lok, 6.000 go to see Chemie, Red Bull still draws 35.000 to 40.000 paying customers and Leipzig is significantly smaller than Milan. The same would happen in Milan. And the derby? They would just sell the match against Juve as THE big thing similar to how they suddenly pretend as if Buyern - Dortmund was anything special. Thirdies buy this shit.
>>158420484Bait used to be believable
>>158420484tHIS WOULD BE FUCKING HILARIOUS
