The Ballon d'Or has no criteria. There is no standardised marking system. It is 100% vibes based, and is more or less entirely dictated by the worst people on the planet, so-called sports "journalists" (and even worse, fr*nch sports "journalists"), who spend their days blowing smoke up each other's arses in a world of make believe. To make matters worse the award has been inflated to pantomime proportions as they try and make as much money from the spectacle as they can. I am 100% certain that there will be money under the table, as the brand association and "prestige" promises clubs and sponsors even more eyeballs. It should not be taken seriously.
