How many of you lads are hyped for the BREEDERS' CUP next weekend?
JTRHNBR
Me at your moms house
>>158292820The Kikuka Sho is coming up too (and a little sooner) so hopefully we'll see a triple crown and a 2 time Breeders cup winner in the same week
>>158292820knuckgod?
Me, i wanna see how the JP horses do this time around, sad that like 3 Euro runners already confirmed they wont take on the BCT, usually its closer to a 2nd Japan Cup or L'arc when all the raiders are firing all cylinders (or..hoofs?)
>>158292820Me since I'll be there.
>>158292820Are these on grass?i dont know how this works but assuming theres a main event/most prestigious race, whats the date/time of the main race?are any euro/japanese horses running in that race or is it usa only
>>158296535The Breeders Cup is like a season closing championship for all racers in the US. Every distance and surface combo is done on it, from 1200 to 2400m and even with races exclusive for mares and 2 year old horses. These are all the dates, for specific lineups you can check the Breeders Cup account on X. The prize money for all races is really good so there's quite a few JP/EU runners, specially for the BC Turf since it works as a "finishing" piece for the big money races at this stage of the year (The Arc de Triomphe, Japan Cup and Hong Kong Vase)
>>158292820I'm hyped hypedhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf8MfUc0j08

Btw does anybody still go to the tracks for simulcast or is that dying out? I moved away from my home track and got nothing nearby
>>158298680There's been 2 triple crowns this century, one undefeated, one got the grand slam, yeah sure they are not Big Red but i think they deserve some respect of their own.>>158298741The smaller tracks keep on dying and even the historical ones arent safe, its only the big time tracks like Belmont that can keep the lights on because no organization gives a shit about anything but themselves in the US.

>>158400223The one that wins gets to cum a lot
>>158400286in that case they're all winners in my book
>>158400324the real winners are the women who hold the giant fleshlights and collect all the semen
>>158400356none of that here bro, If the mating isn't done body to body and witnessed by people as such, then the resulting foal is not considered a thoroughbred and can't race in thoroughbred races
>>158400396I don't get why bulls get the name for cuckold relationships when it appears stallions are the real deal. Bulls just get released in the pen to impregnate any heifer, meanwhile, Stallions are watched mating.
>>158400518Because not all mares like all stallions, sometimes you need the assistance of a teaser stallion which is a horse that exists solely to wetten up a mare and go back to its stable to munch on grass. Some mares have killed very valuable stallions because they did not want to be bred by them, Stay Gold, one of the most celebrated national stallions of Japan got traumatized by Point Flag, a grey mare who repeatedly kicked him every time they bred because she hated how short he was for a horse, which made Stay Gold afraid of grey horses.

/uma/ggers, just know that i think you're all clinically retarded.
>>158431595actually 1? you cant1.5 for example means you get your 1 back and then half of that again
>>158431595Odds are based on how much money was put on that horse

>>158431595That doesn't mean there's a 100% chance the horse will win. It means if you bet $1 and the horse wins you get $2 back ($1 profit). The implied probability is 50%The formula is 1 divided by (the fractional odds plus 1), multiplied by 100 to give a percentage. e.g. fractional odds of 1 = (1 / ((1/1) + 1)) * 100 = 50%.>>158431613Yes you can
>>158431660>That doesn't mean there's a 100% chance the horse will win. That was not my implication, but odds of 1 felt off because from my understanding it just meant you bet $1 and got $1 back if the odds where 1, which would make the betting pointless since you would either get you money back or lose them, no gain whatsoever, but what you said here>It means if you bet $1 and the horse wins you get $2 back ($1 profit)explained it. I just misunderstood how odds worked. In my mind your example would be with the odds of 2. Fractional odds were not a problem, or at least they made "some" sense even I calculated them wrong (4/5 shown meant you bet $4 and get $5 back if it wins from my understanding)
>>158431595Here is the money pool, bear in mind the track deducts 16% for win bets. 84% =1,470,509The winner gets their money back.1,470,509-709,211=761,298 to distribute to the winner.761,298 / 709211 = 1.072$ plus $2.14 + $4.14, the 2 dollar payoff.Pari Mutuel racing, Anon.
>>158431595Should have said $2 plus $2.14 equals $4.14, the payoff.

>>158435156I've been interested in horse racing for years, but it was mostly the American Triple Crown, plus going to my local race track. That said, I'll admit that getting into Umamusume has gotten me into it even more.

>>158435587wtf is wrong with tails?
>>158435639they dont really do anything important enough to havei get it with a monke where they use it to grab a tree or a skink where they use it to distract predators but for most animals they just hang there or occasionally swat a fly

>>158436054Depends on what you mean by "as bis as this", you mean prize money? amount of G1s in a day?
TWO American Double Crowns versus a Japanese prodigyinteresting setup
>>158436087i guess 'importance'. i guess thats a mix of prize money, how much value people put on winning it etc

>>158436128Hey, Ebayan did it and he's fine! Well he lost, but he's fine enough
I think the 3 year olds are dead money in this race. maybe they can pick up a podium piece, but the winner is going to be FY, KB, or Sov
How the hell did T O Password get in there considering the rest of those names on the list
>7m dollars for a dirt racewtf
Haha Golden Tempo pooped on national television
>>158436114Japan Cup is November 29th. It has big purse, often is rated among the highest races of the year and this year seems to have several strong global raiders.
>>158436114It varies by countryMost people ignore AUS as they are really insular (me included, so idk if they have anything)JP does not do festivals and instead has consecutive G1s every week (from today till the end of the year there is only 1 week without a JP G1 race)Both US and Europe end their seasons around this time. There are still some races (including graded ones) but they don't really matter much and the nearest "important" race for both is next yearHK has a day with 4 G1s in December

>>158436407Throughbreds are all either bay, chestnut, or grey.Quarter horse races sometimes include "paints" and "appaloosas"
knightsbridge is just a 1600 speed 200 wit special for the uma players
>>158436469They can also be white
>>158436469why are the coats only those if the whole thoroughbred autism only has to come from one side of the breeding paircan painteds and appaloosas not also run fast or whatits just a coat right
>>158436469Whites exist though it's a rare mutation.
>>158436498we call that a "bakushin"

>>158436796Sov does have an excuse hes been sick a few times and not a 3 year old.
>>158436808no teddy for you
is is there any actual anomaly with Forever Young's actual running that could be identified? The announcers could only just chalk it up to all that traveling finally catching up to him
>>158436796Sov has nothing left to prove, he's a double crown with the Derby as his first, won against all the top horses in the US at the Whitney and he now won the Classic beating the best dirt horse in the world after skipping it last year. Him retiring at 4 is actually justified specially with all the injuries he's picked up as early as 2 yo.>>158436808His father was the complete opposite, a jobber that couldnt beat Kitasan or Duramente and had to run to Hong Kong to win a pity G1.
>>158436734>T.O. Elvis wins>T.O. Password beats Forever YoungThey're going back home in really high spirits
>>158436796Money gonna money>>158436303thanks ill watch the japan cup
>>158436846same thing happened at Dubai. Rounded the corner and had nothing for the spurt. Looked fine at Belmont - Gold Cup and slaughtered the competition (none).
>>158436843I love the whiskers :3
>>158436846He looked stressed at the paddock with all the people surrounding him and Yahagi pointed out he didnt run well at the JCGC, he's also been training pretty much once every 3 days since the Gold Cup which may be a bit too much with a race as intensive as the Classic coming up>>158436853Up and coming owner for sure, Ozasa seems to know his dirt runners too.
>>158436276At least that fat porker is off the screen.
>>158436808No tears please. It's a waste of good suffering.
>>158436821Yeah him being scratched last year sucked, especially when Journalism retired (from what I recall) and couldn't have a final face off.>>158436852It's just something I find odd compared to local or JP racing, they let them run for longer before retiring unless there is something warranted like a potential injury or illness.
>>158436846to me it was similar how Dubai went but could be anything
>>158436924Journalism retired this year after the San Juan G3, Sierra Leone is the one who retired last year after the BCC>they let them run for longer before retiringFor really really great horses thats not always the case, half of the triple crowns retired at 4 and the other half at 5, most G1 winners do not race beyond 6 years old, stud potential value still defines the career of many horses over there but having a smaller G1 calendar makes most top horses in Japan race for a year or 2 longer than they would otherwise. The US has an insane number of G1s for 2 and 3 year olds whilst Japan has less than a dozen in comparison, and thats combining gendered and non gendered races.
>>158437030I'll never doubt my schizobros....

>>158437030>20 years in the makingSovereignty is a great horse and that was peak performance today.
Seeing the separation Sovereignty had i cant help but feel Forever Young's optimal finish was just 2nd anyway
