The first are simps who CTRL+F /f/ and add every username, engage in pathetic orbiting behavior, and act shocked and frustrated when the braindead egirl with no hobbies or social skills that talks to dozens of guys just like them doesn't become their wife.
The second camp consists of those who reply to other men's posts seeking platonic friendship and give off weird gay gooner vibes and act needy and clingy to an extent that would be creepy even with a long-term IRL friend, let alone some guy who added you days ago. This naturally results in the other guy wanting nothing to do with you, and I suspect is the genesis of a lot of the "waahhhh everyone's a ghoster" meta threads. This also lines up with a lot of the absolutely histrionic attitudes ITT to whether someone has online status visible or not, and while I am not a foid and wouldn't know, probably lines up with the behavior of orbiters as well. TLDR /soc/ does have a lot of shitty, boring, flakey people, but any criticism regarding that should be preceded with some serious introspection, and that's the last word I'm gonna bother giving to people who are so hopelessly inept

If you're online I'm not going to message you because you are offline. I don't want to send a message and then have you reply to it many hours later because then we may as well write emails what's the point of us using an IMS (insant messaging service). If you're online and it's green I know you're available to have a real time conversation. If you are offline 24/7 you are an avoidant or have bad social anxiety to the point you hide even on discord.
