We wouldn't need nuclear power if we just had less demand for energy.

In Europe and the US we have been increasing efficiency for basically every sort of energy source: gasoline, electrical devices, etc. LED bulbs are like 5x more efficient than old light bulbs, cars have doubled or tripled their gasoline efficiency, and all household appliances are very optimized in terms of energy efficiency compared to what they were even 20 years ago.

The problem is that the market seems to respond by eating up the unused supply for increasing productivity. All the cars for more efficient so more goods now get transported using these efficient vehicles (instead of much more efficient trains, or since people order 8 Amazon packages a week instead of getting it all during one trip to the mall, stuff like that).

The obsession with energy efficiency is being made a total mockery of right now because of the AI boom, which is burning massive amounts of energy for what? Kids cheating on their college assignments?

The only way out of this death spiral is genuine clean energy to replace fossil fuels; higher efficiency is simply not effective at lowering overall energy/emissions levels due to inevitable associated demand increases

But they already had significantly less demand for energy when they first invented nuclear energy out of necessity.

lol.listen, you seem confused on the state of things. there is something that you, and pretty much everyone else, are completely missing.so, see...if you leave something on the table, someone will take it. that's all there is to it. it is impossible to "chill" with our power use.I mean sure, you and I we chill, but then some billionaire gonna grab what we save. and overall we end up in the same fucking place.
so, it's not possible to do it. just enjoy yourself, if not, someone will enjoy your share. that's all there is to it.
per capita is total divided by everyone. if you save up but there's shit on the table, someone else will take it, you end up the same per capita, but now you live a shittier life.
thus, the game is always convince the idiots on the bottom to make more room for you. they fall for it, since they're idiots, on the bottom, and people up top get to enjoy more. see, without increasing the total. they just get it from you, because you're freely giving it away, because in your mind, you are saving the fucking planet. lol
it's always a scam you morons, for thousands of years, it is always a scam. telling you to take shorter showers? sure, sounds good on paper. you will take shorter showers, yet nothing will change. because it's not logical. if you leave something on the table, someone will laughingly take it, while calling you a fucking idiot, for leaving it there for them.
reality doesn't work like that anon. we always go as high as it's physically possible. we'll consume as much as there is to consume, not less. if you don't, someone will.nothing is left on the fucking bone

They learned to invent from the run off of energy from nuclear weapons production.
    >>
The economics of the whole nuclear industry are distorted because for decades nuclear fuel production was powered by coal.

I can’t keep enough AA batteries in the house to keep the game controller working.

rechargeable are 1.2V which sucks cock. but you can get li-ion rechargeable ones at 1.5V, these are more recent. capacity might be lower, but they're 1.5V. with the older ni-mh 1.2V ones some shit might not properly work.

Women are vegan and hormonally challenged. It's a sign of low testosterone to take up a fight against them and even lifting the outlets of their feefees.
Just ignore them and keep the peace only men are capable of.

We'd have less demand for energy if the "developing" hadn't blown up their population a six-fold since the Haber-Bosch process was invented.

Not in the Sub-Saharan Africa which imports tens of billions of dollars worth of wheat, rice, and maize every year from massive agricultural exporters like Russia, Ukraine and the Americas.

In essence, the region imports the embedded energy and fertilizer of foreign farms because its own soil is severely nutrient-depleted.

'Green ammonia' is however a prioritized topic for them.
