Redpill me on sociology.

Should one try to discover politico-economical laws to orient one's legislation and such?

Sociology is a psuedoscience. Everything in the field is phacked to hell and no results can ever be reproduced. You would have as much luck trying to predict human behavior by rolling dice than trying to use that nonsense

i had a sociology class in my eurochad engineer undergrad
its basically psychology, but instead of focusing on the individual, it focuses on groups of peoples,
insanely underrated field

of course, its a very marxist field, but was really enjoyable

>Redpill me on sociology.
Social groups can be easily manipulated (see advertisement and propaganda) by external forces to their own detriment.
Liberals understand this intuitively but refuse to pay market rates.
Conservatives will gladly pay for market access but refuse to accept why it works.

maybe game theory, but only the logic theoretical part.
and then it will fail because humans are not perfect logicians.
so you make statistics about how far a person will reason before start guessing the right answer.
use those fractions in a system of agents, and reroll the problem to see any large scale behavior.

you fail again
somehow there is emergent behavior that is sensitive to very subtle changes.

you start fund reserach groups on "emergence"
this is where we are now.

lets see how we fail this time.

Its nos science.

define what is classified as a pseudoscience?

do you think that any social science even if it produces empirically testable and significant results not through experiment but through big data is pseudoscience as well?

What do you think about computer science because its not experimental like chemistry but a pure application of mathematics?

So, what is classified as science or not science? I can say from the introductory course I took from chemistry was not mathematical at all and all reactions were just observed from nature or experiments made in labs. But it does not explain why complete combustion results in water and oxygen. Lewis structure is a toy model as well not describing reality at all. While all of your models are derived from physics either thermophysics or quantum one. What makes chem a science? Because it seems that it did not depart from alcehmy at all.

carbondioxide my bad

Sociology has always been an experimental science.
Most of you are confused by who the researchers and the subjects are in these experiments.
>>

Can you define how you would form a sociological experiment in a way which supports a causal claim? Even if you ignore ethics and feasibility?
