I am not a medical student or staff I am desperately trying to find a way to obtain Sodium Nitrite to commit suicide soon and I figured this thread might know. I don't have access to a gun so I'm trying to find a way. I'm going to do several methods at once and I want to know if this will work: go into a confined space (not in a building with other people in it), swallow heavy sleeping pills or some sort of anesthetizing substance then immediately take the SN and a powerful antiemetic and then when I get drowsy I seal off the confined space and set off a bucket of charcoal in there and this doesn't seem like a good painless plan but I am desperate and I need to find something because I don't have the money to buy a gun. I should check the handgun rental gun range policies in the Seattle area and see if there's one that I can potentially use to die although it would destroy a business and other people. I am 28 and I have had symptoms of severe depression since I was about 14 and around 23 the suicidal ideation started intensifying and I've attempted prior but I've only been voluntarily committed and I have absolutely no criminal record or interactions with police besides when they questioned me when I was 12 asking me where my dad was, I am almost certain I can legally submit a 4473 to obtain a rifle. Forgot these threads existed. Xrayfag here, I just wanted to share a video I took at my main experimentation hospital (props to the techs for putting up with my nerdy bullshit <3). I found the idea of scintillation to be fascinating. I think most people can relate, it's cool how things can glow when exposed to certain photon energy wavelengths. Always been a fan of blacklights.So in intro, we learn about the origins of the practice, starting with the x-ray tube, which is that during experiments with a vacuum tube. Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen found that some panels he had covered with a phosphorous compound were glowing on the other side of the room when he supplied the tube with electricity. I wanted to get ahold of this original compound, but found that it's not really used anymore due to safety concerns and when you do find a supplier, you need laboratory licenses and stuff to order it. Thankfully, there are natural minerals that scintillate. Unfortunately, most of them are relatively expensive. I got 2 different mineral samples for $15 each and that's good enough. First one was scheelite, which glows blue. The piece of ore that I got didn't have a whole lot, just a few bits. Second one was Willemite, which had a far more uniform distribution and glowed green. I wish the x-ray tubes at hospitals could output a higher quanitity of x-rays because that's the main technical factor for glowy rocks, not the kilovoltage, which is the force behind them.This video was shot at like 60 kVp and 250 mAs for 2.5 seconds.
