its so weird that you can skip a night of sleep and not feel any different. i wonder if all this time when ive been going to bed and sleeping i wasnt getting rest at all. how would you even know it if you weren't?

I could do this when I was younger, especially when I was a teenager. I cannot do this at my age now, I tried it once when I gooned too hard for too long and realised I need to be up for work in an hour. I decided to just show up with no sleep and I felt like a zombie, I did a crap job that day, later on I fell asleep on the subway and missed my stop.
>>
>>85865862
how old were you when that happened?
did you take a shower before you went back in to work?
>>
>>85865853
Don't start skipping nights too frequently. You'll run out of your skips, you only get a limited amount of those per life.
>>

actually, the number has been going up. ive started to realize that i don't need much sleep. i slept really badly for weeks and weeks and today i decided why not skip sleeping altogether and it practically feels the same. my back is just a bit more sore
>>

I'm not sure when exactly but I noticed it when I was 28. Until that point I don't think I even tried staying up 30+ hours straight since I was perhaps 21.
>did you take a shower before you went back in to work?
Yes I decided that might help wake me up so it was probably the first thing I did.
>>
>>85865853
I tried it before and it made me schizo or something.
>>
>>85865883
Be honest, does "the same" mean feeling rather tired? Have you considered your problem is poor sleep, perhaps you have developed sleep apnea?
>>
>>85865853
i have been oversleeping my whole life because of depression. i reckon if i went a week without sleep i would be functioning about the same since im a neet and dont do much anyways
>>
>>85865887
what was the longest you stayed up as a lad? 30 hours is a lot all things said.
>>85865901
>I tried it before and it made me schizo or something
did they end up needing to put you in to stabilize you or was it ok?
>>85865902
>does "the same" mean feeling rather tired?
not tired at all, it's just that being awake feels the same as a dream. it's been like that for a long time, about as long as i can remember when my memory goes bad. i think you can do meditation while awake that cuts down need for sleep. that said i think it also makes you unable to concentrate on things, which is pretty frustrating sometimes when you want to seem smart to pplz.
>Have you considered your problem is poor sleep, perhaps you have developed sleep apnea?
yeah, but if poor sleep is the problem and you can survive with poor sleep and it makes thinking harder then it's easier to not be sad because you can't think as much, no?
>>
>>85865931
what if you're depressed because you oversleep?
>>
>>85865853
last time I skipped an entire night of sleeping my head felt extremely weird and I couldn't function and felt sick.
I slept like 4 hours last night and feel extremely tired and a little irritated.
>>
>>85865942
The longest was 3 days, when I was about 15 or 16. It was alright, first two days were fine, the third day was more about just proving the point to myself.
I chose 30+ hours because if you stay up all the way to the same time you woke up the previous day that's already 24 hours, then another day's work on top of that would be 32 hours minimum
>>
>>85865972
But after 8 days of work you're supposed to get 8 hours of leisure in a day. Youre betraying your union forebearers
>>85865966
Do you really get tired when you don't sleep? How does that manifest? Like youre doing your day and thinking like "man i wish i was in bed asleep?"
>>
>>85865981
I was working in a factory, I loved working in that factory. If I could sign a 6 day week, 14 hour day contract to work in a factory I would do it. Socialists didn't know how shit the future was going to be. Work is the only thing worth getting out of bed for.
>>
>>85866000
You really would? 14 hour shifts are tough
>>
>>85865981
>ow does that manifest? Like youre doing your day and thinking like "man i wish i was in bed asleep?"
Anon, do you not know what it's like to be very sleepy? Eyes heavy, yawning, no energy to do anything etc.

I think I understand what happens and I think I've been that way before but I can't remember it ever happening or what it feels like. I'm not sure if that's nornal or not. Can you remember what tired feels like by thinking about it?
