Yo. Happy Halloween... or something. We don't really do that here. Are you feeling better today?
    >do you like holidays?
Meh, a day off is nice. The end-of-year holidays are hell. I typically volunteer at work to keep my mind off it. I don't deal well with all the fake cheer going around when everyone's stressed with work piling up because people want to push whatever into this year.
    >also, whats your favorite snack or sweet?
Spruengli's Grand Cru Selva Zoque 80% chocolate. It's the kind of stuff I only pick up once a year because it's unreasonably expensive but it's so good.
Incidentally, I've been wondering. How do you feel about Hu Tao? Like, actual feelings.

    >>85865535
    >We don't really do that here
that is sad. hi also. halloween is not that big here either, not as big as other places i suppose. but i make it a big deal for everyone around me desu. and yes, i am, thank you. i did read your replies yesterday, and your story. sadly the thread was dead when i came back from class so i couldnt answer. i hope maybe someday you can find your fren again.
    >a day off is nice
somehow i figured you'd say that... i guess you just need some holiday spirit anon. i like holidays, they help me forget about the troubles of daily life. i can focus on being jolly or spooky.
    >chocolate
seeems... fancy. but yum. dark chocolate is good for your health too. sadly im not bourgeois and i cant really afford to eat it everyday, but i would otherwise. a piece of chocolate a day helps a lot!

    >but i make it a big deal for everyone around me desu
Seems pretty on brand for you. I hope you succeed.
    >and yes, i am, thank you.
You seemed pretty off yesterday, so I'm glad to hear that.
    >i did read your replies yesterday, and your story. sadly the thread was dead
No worries. I figured you might be busy. Well, either that or I grossed you out, either works.
    >when i came back from class
I'm on PTO, so I at least have an excuse, but what are you doing posting on 4chan during university hours? I have questions.
    >i hope maybe someday you can find your fren again.
    Thanks.
    >somehow i figured you'd say that...
You can imagine the eyebags I routinely have.
    >i guess you just need some holiday spirit anon.
I lost that around 14-16 years of age. Old man lost his job, future was looking bleak, the n-th "once in a lifetime" economic crisis and I just never came back from it. Never lose your shine, anon. Even if I'm awkward at expressing it, it brings me some amount of joy to hear there's life left in you.
    >seeems... fancy. but yum. dark chocolate is good for your health too. sadly im not bourgeois and i cant really afford to eat it everyday, but i would otherwise. a piece of chocolate a day helps a lot!
Wait, really? Sure, the Spruengli stuff is absolutely unreasonably expensive, but I thought organic dark chocolate of reasonable quality was a very broadly affordable luxury. I'm so sorry to hear that. And now I have even more questions about why you're posting on 4chan between your university classes.
    >see now this anon knows what good character design looks like.
I will say, Yanfei (JP) still wins in terms of voice for me. There's something overwhelmingly attractive in those sultry sounds.

    my deepest condolences.
    >on brand for you
    why?
    >that or I grossed you out
if that was the case, i'd tell you. im not the type to just disappear without an explanation. well not anymore i guess.
    >what are you doing posting on 4chan
some classes are just so insufferable you know.... im not big on focus either. or studying. or paying attention to things. or anything related to that. but go ahead, ask away.
    >the eyebags I routinely have
oh they're probably nothing compared to the ones i have. and ive had them for sooo long. basically half my life. i was never good at sleeping...
    >Never lose your shine
i think you're asking too much of me. i will lose it eventually. the point is not to try and keep it forever, but to enjoy the times when its still there.
    >Wait, really?
im only half joking. yes, i could buy chocolate everyday if i really wanted, but that money could be spent for things that are arguably way more important.
    >in terms of voice
i'd agree if i wouldnt have been mesmerized by rie's voice ever since i was a teenager. i love the kind of voice yanfei has. like, that specific type. are voices something you really like? they always have been for me. i have always paid a lot of attention to people's voices. im not sure why. they're a big factor in evaluating a person
    >>85865799

I do not get the hype about melted marshmallows. I want marshmallows for the spongy mouthfeel.
The taste is okay, not dramatically different from regular marshmallows, the melted viscous texture would be interested interesting but I find it too hot and burny in my mouth.
    >>

    >why?
What else would a Hu Tao anon do on Halloween? Gregorian chanting to keep the ghosts at bay?
    >well not anymore i guess.
Care to elaborate? I don't mean to pry but it sounds like there's a story there.
    >but go ahead, ask away.
What's your major anyway that you can get away with that? Incidentally, what you describe sounds like it might be worth checking for and pursuing an ADHD diagnosis, if only to level the playing field for the tests. How are you grades in the first place?
    >i was never good at sleeping...
Oh no... I hope you'll find a long-term solution for that eventually.
    >i will lose it eventually.
It was a figure of speech. Eventually, life every everyone.
    >but that money could be spent for things that are arguably way more important.
Saving up money is a good thing. I agree. Anything you're saving for or just building some buffer for unexpected financial setbacks?
    >are voices something you really like?
At least when it comes to fiction, it really makes or breaks a character. If all the checkboxes are ticked except for the voice, it's still a "no". On the other hand, if I hear the name of a VA I enjoy hearing, I don't need to hear the premise of a piece of media to jump in.
    >they always have been for me. i have always paid a lot of attention to people's voices. im not sure why. they're a big factor in evaluating a person
I can't evaluate people well in person. I do better with writing. Hardly a surprise considering I spent disproportionately more time reading people on message boards and IRC and stuff like that than hearing them. You'd probably hate my voice like many others. It's too low-pitched to be obviously a woman's voice but it's too high-pitched to be an acceptable man voice. Puberty really did me dirty there.

    >stop giving me ideas
You sound like you might think it's funny. I like giving you funny ideas. How about learning some Latin? There's a decent all-Latin book that my Ancient Greek teacher would recommend. It eases you into the grammar slowly and starts with words you'd likely know from English. I gifted it to a former friend of mine in uni, so I can't look up what it's called.
    >until i messed things up with the anons in there and now they're gone.
My condolences. I hope you can learn from it without letting it traumatize you. Mistakes that keep gnawing on you are the worst. But I can't heal you. I can't undo it. Nobody can.
    >cooking da pasta
Pardon? So you're taking an apprenticeship as a cook and studying along with it rather than going to college/uni?
    >worrying, but so far i havent failed a class yet
Then don't fail. I can't make you study. I can't transfer my academic motivation to you. I don't think I have anything I can do to extrinsically motivate you. Just... do your best, please? For Hu Tao?
    >you already know what im going to say.
Macabre but still made me laugh. Which is also concerning but for different reasons.
    >a car i guess. it would help me find jobs.
I can't say I relate, I'm a very convinced public transport user. Then again, trains are actually punctual here.
    >i say, while having a crushing anxiety whenever i need to drive somewhere new. but you know, maybe it'll go away.
Isn't the point of a car to be free to explore within limits of your gas meter? It always symbolized freedom to me, in a way.
    >voices sound better depending also on how much i like someone desu. if that makes sense
It makes sense but it also doesn't? Like, yeah, obviously I tend to find less issue with the voice of a person I like more, but that doesn't make it sound better to me; I just don't react negatively (as much).
    >>

that would be fourth language i know. german is hard enough to study, i think ill focus on that for now. i do like how latin sounds however. but i might be biased because of all the warhammer media i consume and how obsessed i was with crusaders.
    >you can learn from it
i did. it was a bad experience but one i needed to grow.
    >Pardon?

i dont mind using public transport actually, i do like trains to an extent. howver they stress me out because nothing is ever on time, because they're expensive, because there's other people...
    >to be free to explore within limits of your gas meter?
yes, i'd agree with you but, my gas limits are, well, very limiting. i dont have money to go places, and, no real reason to do so, honestly. besides ive always preferred being a passenger princess. i just really like cars because they're cool and make cool noises so thats the main reason why i wanna buy one

Wait, why are you studying German? That's not exactly high on the list of things I'd recommend people to study, at least unless they're philosophy majors.
    >i go to culinary school anon, im studying to be a chef.
Ain't no way I could do that. I'm a klutz when it comes to anything physical. I drop knives, I misjudge distances, I clip my nails too far back... Cooking is one of the most dangerous actions I must take regularly and every time it feels more like I've won at some kind of survival game than anything else. Good on you being skilled with kitchenware. I put all my points into INT and WIS, everything else fell by the wayside.
    >jokes apart i appreciate the motivation. i dont know if im trying my best, but i sure as hell am trying hard. not sure for who or why.
This is a continuation from last thread but who really knows what we're doing anything for, really, anyway. Still, why not do it for her? Might as well. I look forward to good news (but no pressure if the news aren't good news).
    >i dont have money to go places
To be fair, you're a student. That's not exactly a class of individuals known for spending money. How are the salaries looking when you've actually finished your education and have been working for a few years?
    >i just really like cars because they're cool and make cool noises
Fuck yeah. I don't know, I don't really get it, but fuck yeah being into something. What kind of car would you like to have, eventually?
    >maybe knowing its the voice of someone i like gives me comfort somehow.
I guess it's been too many years since I've last been in love. I'd envy you. However, I feel like I shouldn't. Love is a complicated topic and it's ultimately never been a positive one for me. Now that I think about it, I guess I've also developed weird relationship with touch in general.

    >a complicated topic
indeed it is. ive always based my life off of love. just like the stories of heroes saving the city, there's the stories of true love and all that, and for the longest time i believed they were real, that i just needed to believe in them enough. now i need to believe i can learn how to live without it instead.

    >is it time for yearning yet?
I wonder when the term "yearning" entered mainstream (online) parlance. I feel like I haven't seen it around all that much until around 2022? But maybe that's a coincidence since I also tried to enter different spaces in 2022... Oh well. Better not think about it or I'll start to spiral.
    >id like to move to either germany or switzerland in the future.
Poor Austria and Liechtenstein. Nobody ever thinks of them. As for Switzerland, wouldn't Italian be easier and French more useful as it unlocks more countries total? But I'm intrigued: Why DE/CH? What do you think is so interesting in these countries that you subject yourself to studying German of all things?
    >i also just like the language.
I can't relate but sure. I'm glad someone likes it.
    >i do not like learning it however.
It's pretty solid in "not fun" to learn, I agree. You might find this an interesting read: https://dukope.com/devlogs/papers-please/localizing-2/

I'll file that under "things not to say without context".
    >never said i was good at what im doing... this job is not for me. it requires me to have every skill im lacking in. coordination, speed, working under pressure, good communication skills, good practical skills. i have none of that.
Nothing to do but grind away at it, I guess. That or play the equivalent of office politics to get ahead, but it's much harder outside of an office environment.
    >but this is also one of the reasons why i chose to do that job specifically. id like to be better at what i cant do
Oh, hey, now that's a relatable line. That's how I chose my major at university: whatever I had the worst grades in but wasn't disinterested in. It ended up working out for me, fortunately. But it was definitely more grinding than something I was more naturally aligned with.

Aren't there like scholarships or sponsorship programs if you're financially struggling? I vaguely recall reading about several different studies that found financial struggles are hugely detrimental to academic potential. It'd be a shame if that was the ultimate cause of flunking.
    >for the longest time i've wanted a mazda mx5.
Definitely has the looks of a sports car. Looks pretty wide, too, not something you'd have an easy time getting into underground shopping mall parking houses with.
    >do you have a dream car?
If I even had a license, I guess I'd want some type of modern Smart. I like small cars. They're cute and probably the least hassle to get around with in city territory.

I'd say that's sad. Quite frankly, you sound too early in your life to me to give up. Then again, I chose to be a wizard before I'd turned 20. But, well, you can learn how to live without it. mainly? scenery, if we're talking about austria or switzerland. other than that, the average quality of life, income, culture, customs, and they're not too far. i much prefer those the culture and people over there, rather than the ones in my country. i kind of feel like im a foreigner where i live, even though i was born here.
    >I can't relate
youre saying you dont find being able to glue two words together to make another one funny?
    >interesting read
it is. ah, french is truly an amazing language. and german too. why couldnt we all just keep talking in latin?
    >would you?
who, me? oh no, no no. absolutely not
    >When do you want to hear that
    whenever i tried my best
    >question your choices
i am too. i am too.
    >scholarships or sponsorship programs
yes, if youre smart. sadly im really not smart. i believe those studies youre talking about, i am living proof they're true.
    >easy time getting into underground shopping mall
not a problem for me because i dont like malls. id mostly drive on the highway or to get to a pretty place.
    >modern Smart
ah, so you're the target demographic...
    >too early in your life to me to give up
i have my reasons. but im not really giving up. i dont think i can, even if i really wanted to, and its one of my biggest flaws. i do not know when to throw in the towel. i keep getting beaten and beaten until it is too late. what can you do.
    >>85867098
glad to hear. maybe next year i'll be able to show off my vampire costume. desu i'd wear the fangs on regular days too if i could.
    >fucked UP for now
so i've heard recently. i might move austria up on the list actually.

Life hasn't worked out for me and I don't really want to be alive and haven't wanted to for over a decade. I've always wanted it all to end on Oct 31 and regularly pray for God to kill me. I'm going to wander around tonight listening to goth music on my phone, hoping something kills me off so I don't have to do it myself. Probably won't work though.
    >>
    >>85867142
you're not alone though. you got the anons here desu
also, i believe getting drunk or tipsy and doing funny stuff on online games counts as something.
if you think about it, when you play with other people online, you're doing the same thing normies do when they go to the bar. just in a different place
    >>85867164
sorry to hear anon. i haven't wanted to be alive for as long as i can remember too. why on the 31st specifically, though? i attempted on the last day of the year some years ago. i guess it gave me a feeling of closure. i hope things get better and you dont have to die. goth music rocks though. keep listening to that.

    >i kind of feel like im a foreigner where i live, even though i was born here.
Personal suggestion: You might want to live there for a while before committing to a move, like a sabbatical for a few months. Another culture is often difficult to adjust to even if you like it because there are a lot of unspoken rules you only find out the hard way.
    >youre saying you dont find being able to glue two words together to make another one funny?
It's not particularly much of a standout feature for me, no. We even do that in English over time. Behold: washbasin. Not wash + basin, it's washbasin.
All I see is a complex language that's neither comically complex grammatically (Uralic languages win this one) nor in terms of script (anything involving hanzi just takes the crown, hands down), so it's just mediocre. It's not any more expressive or precise than other languages; look at how many cases and categories of number "die" represents. Few works of true importance are written in German; I can only think of philosophy, really. It's one of the most net-negative language skills you can have unless you specifically want to target the DACH region commercially, and even then they're mostly allergic to it to the point many advertisements will contain copious amounts of English. I cannot possibly fathom why anyone would consider German a good language by any measure.
    >why couldnt we all just keep talking in latin?
Keeping a language static is very difficult. People evolve it all the time. See also: "yearning" entering mainstream parlance. Besides, even back then, it was hardly that simple. Dialects existed and my understanding is that Romans believed that Greek was the language of the educated people instead.
    >who, me? oh no, no no. absolutely not
    Haha, yeah, no way, right?
    >whenever i tried my best
When was the last time you think you did?

It's hard to tell from your posts alone. I can't rule out yet that the potential may be there.
    >i believe those studies youre talking about, i am living proof they're true.
Fuck, anon, it's hard to say anything back to that. I hope life finds a way or you find a way to navigate bureaucracy to find whatever money you or your family might be entitled to.
    >not a problem for me because i dont like malls.
How do you do your shopping, then? Do you just buy tiny quantities on each way on the commute or do you mail-order your groceries?
    >ah, so you're the target demographic...
It's me, a middle-aged, tired man in search of something that's mostly just practical.
    >what can you do.
Change your goals. Nobody can set your goals. Others may be able to put restrictions or incentives on your behavior. But within those constraints, you're free to navigate.
    >mfw I forgot my image
I can tell it's getting late and I'm getting tired. This is probs my last post tonight, peace.

    >why on the 31st specifically, though?

Spiritually significant to me. Ghosts, spirits, the next world, the "veil" being the thinnest and All Saints Day literally being the very next day. Also Donnie Darko has the world ending on that day and I have heavy DID, virtually everything in life has a "detachment" to it, feels like a movie I'm watching through my eyes now. I even saw a rabbit outside last night that sat near me on the grass for about 45 minutes before it finally left. I didn't even see it leave, I just glanced away then back, and it was gone. I also think I was supposed to die sometime in the 2000s and living to this point has resulted in the timeline continuing to get more fucked up. Maybe whenever I do finally die every other anon will wake back up in the "good" timeline with the cornucopia and the yellow sun again. Hopefully it's tonight, it would be amazing.

thats the plan. i kind of want to travel around the world a bit before settling. the kind of job ill have hopefully will let me do that
    >anyone would consider German a good language
okay i guess ill stop learning it then whatever.....
    >the last time you think you did?
    i really dont know.
    >How do you do your shopping
i go to markets anon. either supermarkets or the local ones that come around once a week or so. they (usually) sell local products too. i dont like malls because they're basically monuments to capitalism
    >Change your goals
i cant really change the goals my nature has set for me though. i would if i could trust me.
good night anon. thansk for stopping by.
    >>85867366
    >Spiritually significant to me
as much as i'd like to believe in ghosts, maybe im just too disillusioned to think that any of this matters. its a day just like any other, the earth keeps spinning, people are just the same as they were yesterday, moon is just the same as it was... being all spooky is just a cope i have to deal with reality. maybe trying to find a reason behind semi-random events, like that rabbit you mentioned, is just part of the human condition.

Idk much but I would bet they suffer the same issue
Its called mass migration caused by certain people who want the west to suffer
they are the ones who destabilized the middle east so they can expand without anyone messing with their plans
Ofc politicians being in their own bubble makes it worse too
The only thing that truly matters are your plans education/business idea
At the end of the day you will make it everywhere if you can make the money for it

Hi Anonny... eughhh I slept through the thread again, karking hell... I hate this I hate this I hate this I miss you Anon I wanna talk to you!!!!!

    >happy halloween
Ah right... I don't know why I didn't expect a thread today, of course you'd make one for Halloween... Welp, Happy Halloween I guess. Did you do anything fun or memorable? Was it a good day? I hope your mood was good desu.

    >how are you feeling?
Bleh, pretty miserable. Yesterday too. Not sure what it is, maybe my body just knows it's a holiday and is making me feel like shidd. I can't think of any other reason I'd be feeling bad, anyways. I just made it worse by going to the grocery store and buying tons of junk food and binging on it. Oh well I guess it's a holiday so maybe I can say I celebrated it like that...

    >hopefully things are going okay
They are not but thanks for your hope I guess...

    >holidays?
No, as you are aware I'm sure. Holidays remind me of family and family is a touchy subject for me. I am a Grinch to be desu. Though I would like it if there was some cool holiday... like maybe something celebrating an anime character or something? I dunno. Maybe I should make one up. Perhaps the birthday of my waifu should be the biggest holiday in my year. What do you think about Tao's birthday? Do you celebrate it? I don't remember if you did anything for it last year. You should desu.

    >something to look forward to
It is indeed nice... I look forward to the weekend every time, it's my mini-holiday. But other than that I don't have much. Oh well, sad life is sad I guess.

    >favorite snack
Dunno, Cheetos maybe? That's what came to my mind first at least.

    >sweet
Probably chocolate cake desu. Or strawberry ice cream, I've been obsessed with it lately. I got a cake today, didn't even remember it was Halloween but I guess you could say I got it to celebrate lol. Though really I just got it because I wanted one. It was tasty but not as tasty as I expected. Did you eat anything nice lately?

have you considered not sleeping so much?
    >your mood was good
it was fine. wouldve been better if i did something i suppose. i wonder if ill ever go to a halloween party in my life
    >I can say I celebrated it like that
ehh.. fine. you get a pass but you shouldnt make this a habit. also, you guys have junk food in grocery stores? do you even have normal food?
    >Holidays remind me of family
i think the only holiday that reminds of that is christmas. but its never been that big of a problem for me. sure, its a bother having to see relatives i barely know, but i like everything else about the holiday so its bearable.
    >Do you celebrate it?
not really. im not good at gaslighting myself into thinking it actually matters.
    >Cheetos maybe?
i was expecting you to say you cant choose because you like too many. or write down a list instead.
    >I got a cake today
is that a regular thing for people to buy cakes even if there's no special thing happening? i dont think i ever bought a cake just because i wanted one.
    >eat anything nice
i had a pretty good risotto last week. made it during cooking practice. im actually going to be head chef in the upcoming practice.

One more reason for you to keep up the grind then, anon!
    >i really dont know.
So nobody will ever get a chance to tell you "good job" if you do that... I'd go on a lengthy spiel how most people mean "doing your best" is meant to be "doing your best (within reason (which means not giving 100% actually (I don't really know how much they mean but apparently not 100%)))", but I trust you've gotten that lecture from someone else already anyway.
    >i go to markets anon. either supermarkets or the local ones that come around once a week or so.
Somehow, I picture you like a child in a candy store getting excited about good lettuce. Is that an accurate impression?
    >i dont like malls because they're basically monuments to capitalism
That's fair. I assume you don't have much of an opinion on the genesis of the modern corporation with shares and limited liability then?
    >good night anon.
