I don't get politics. The whole point is to give the people what they want. they don't do that. then they act surprised when they get voted out. it's retarded
>>85860184>The whole point is to give the people what they want. The whole point is to give corporations what they want.
>>85860184You should finish your Grade 10, Ricky.
>>85860184The whole point is to cash out. The bigger the payday the bigger the chances of getting voted out are so some try to play it safter by taking less money over a longer time so it's less likely to get noticed.
The point is to get people to vote for you by saying what they want to hear. Then when you're elected you make as much money for you and your family as possible by bribes to change law. After that its a balancing act of trying to keep voters happy while trying to get as much as you can letting businesses rape your voters
>>85860184Yes, but, what if the good thing you want to implement gets finished when the other party is in power? They could say the good thing is because of them.
>>85860218Makes sense, but you'd think they would be better at balancing it so they could get reelected and make more money. like i just saw ted cruz saying texas might go fully blue. so why didn't you do more for the voters?
>>85860194Those are the same 2 statements?https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/1/1
>>85860278Because he's in too deep and wouldn't be able to make changes to please the voters without also displeasing the people bankrolling him.
>>85860325I know its semantics but a person is not necessarily people. So a corp is a person but not the people.
>>85860325>>85860357As this guy says, THE people generally refers to the masses. Corporate personhood is just a legal status and while you can argue that the people who make up corporations are part of THE people too, it's a distinct entity with its own agenda separate from THE people.
>>85860325Time to arrest corporations and seize their assests, then also jail the executives for being a willing accomplice
>>85860184>get voted outIt's cute that you still think voting is real.>>85860221ideally, it wouldn't matter. If our government were truly here to serve the citizens of this country, the thing getting done should be celebrated because it's done and it's good, not because of who did it. Having competing parties at all shouldn't even be a thing.
>>85860424zomg wat did they dood
>>85860184>>85860194The whole point is to give the jews what they want.
>>85860184Sell a platform and do the bare minimum for your party to get reelected and use the rest of the time pandering to lobbyists in exchange for the real pay. Politicians are representatives, not saints or incorruptible.
>>85860184Democracy and voting is the illusion of a choice. If there is no revolution there is no "give the people" anything. You'll keep voting and pretending you made a change.
