What do you think about? I am not smart. I am very much mediocre, bellow average in many aspects. I spend time throughout the day coming up with ideas about politics, philosophy, stories, etc. It doesn't happen everyday, or that often. But it's recurrent enough that it has become a habit. I don't really do anything with these thoughts. I may spend a few hours, days or even a week heavily focused on one topic, crafting exploratory narratives in my mind and then just forget it all. I don't write it down or do any kind of serious research about it. Writing it down would probably be the best move in order to progress, even if the idea itself isn't anything impressive, as it often happens that after I move on with the train of thought, I don't bring it up again until some time later and by then I have to rebuild everything I had previously thought of, thus making progress unbearably slow if possible at all. But I just can't be asked, it's too much effort. It still bothers me a little, the lack of progress. And so, I wondered, what do others think about? Do you write out your thoughts? What do you do with them? What occupies your mind? What are you naturally curious for?
>>85856317You should definitely try writing your thoughts down. Since I started doing it I've become much better at thinking as well as communicating ideas to others. Also you can only remember so much, and writing it down is a good way to have a greater repository of thoughts to look back on. I've made a habit of rereading everything I write at the end of the month and you wouldn't believe how much you can forget.
>>85856335>writing it down is a good way to have a greater repository of thoughts to look back on.I find this to be unbearable. I cringe too much. I feel my skin crawl. I get a compulsion to fix it, I find mistakes and could write pages about the mistakes themselves. You are objectively correct, though. It is definitely a good thing to do. I am only expressing my own emotions here. But what do you think about, anon? What kind of stuff do you write about?
>>85856350I get a compulsion to fix it, I find mistakes and could write pages about the mistakes themselves.I know that feel. I've made a rule to not edit anything after the day I write it. I don't think it's in the spirit of what I'm doing. Just use it as motivation to improve my writing so there's less to cringe at.What kind of stuff do you write about?I'm pretty all over the place. Recently I've been interested in how the 2nd law of thermodynamics can be applied to complexity. This can be used to predict the collapse of societies. What have you been thinking about?
>>85856380I forgot to quote your responses :(
>>85856317Honestly, I have no idea. I just let my thoughts wander and don't really pay attention to them when I do. Maybe every now and then I'll zone back in if I have to actively think about something but otherwise I just let imagination take the wheel.
>>85856380>know that feel. I've made a rule to not edit anything after the day I write it.That is a very smart idea. >Recently I've been interested in how the 2nd law of thermodynamics can be applied to complexity. This can be used to predict the collapse of societies.I have had some ideas related to entropy as well, although that wasn't what I was thinking about before I made this thread. But I was approaching it from a different perspective, trying to understand the relationship between emergent phenomena in the face of the law you're talking about. Several thoughts occurred to me related to this, from physical phenomena, on how despite the fact that the universe is constantly tending towards higher entropy, states of lower entropy keep being formed, from planets to life itself. I honestly can't remember the whole thing, it was a while ago. I swear it made sense. And then I applied it to sociology and emergent behaviors. And then to politics. Now I was thinking about Marxism. I'm not a Marxist, but I feel that most public critics and supporters of the system never really address its points. I spent an hour crafting basically an exploratory essay about my thoughts on it in my head as I walked my dog and then forgot about it.
>>85856405Should probably read more about entropy. I'm admittedly not super knowledgeable yet as I only recently started thinking about applying the laws of thermodynamics to sociology.I don't have too much interest in writing about politics. I haven't found any system which I feel truly makes sense, so I choose to invest my time in other things.>I feel that most public critics and supporters of the system never really address its points. This is definitely true but not in my wheelhouse.I don't talk to people too often. You've definitely given me some more stuff to think about. Perhaps I should make more of an effort to speak to others. I apologize for any vagueness, but I am a bit paranoid that the feds know I'm here and are trying to entrap me lol.
>>85856317I replay past conversations in my head and go through all the different conversation tree branches that could have been.
