Why can't I have an asian guy who also doesn't mind that I listen to racist music? There are japanese black metal bands, I think those types wouldn't mind, but I wouldn't be able to find a guy like that unless I moved to an asian country.

yes but also have you considered just not listening to racist bands
>>

sure but I just like the music. maybe I just need to give up with this idea lol

I get it. I'm Asian myself but I had a funny experience in high school where I was sitting in a car with some friends and one of them put on some black metal. I didn't normally listen to black metal at the time but I liked what they put on, and said as much out loud. My friend laughed and said they wouldn't like me because it's a racist Russian neo pagan band (or something like that). Didn't stop me from enjoying it though, I'm able to separate the art from the artist.

i see that's good to hear. it was kind of a dumb question but i've just been wondering lately ngl. when it comes to russian bands m8l8th is good, even if the vocals are hilarious sometimes. and probably drudkh(ukrainian) if you want something more serious.

few people even in this scene can do that.

It helps that I'm not exactly part of any scene in particular so I don't really take the culture surrounding a genre too seriously.

As far as Russian metal goes, there was a unique one I came across some years ago that had an accordion player as a part of the lineup. Can't remember the name since it was in Russian and I can't read that, but it can be found easily enough just looking up that description.

Put? this was famous on youtube at some point and think it's the one you mean lol. pretty nice stuff.

Yeah, that's the one. Going back to the topic of Japanese black metal bands, you have any recommendations for those? I was big into VK back in the day but I know that's a different beast entirely.
>>

what's VK? I'm not that familiar with japanese bands.

and sigh definitely. this is a cover but it's probably the best venom cover. also abigail. japan this really good hardcore punk band too, but i forget the name of the one i was thinking. and sorry i gotta go to sleep lol, but thanks for answering to my dumb thread.

Aw shit, I actually recall coming across some Sigh back in the day too. As for VK it strands for Visual Kei, and it's just a subgenre of Japanese music that largely focuses on visual presentation and eccentric costumes, but they can have a pretty diverse range of sounds that span across various subgenres of rock and metal. That said, I haven't really kept up with the genre in some time so I'm not sure what it currently sounds or looks like.
