i've never watched this but it's on prime so i might give it a goi remember when it was airing and everyone online was going crazy over it and saying that it was the future of wrestlingdoes it still hold up or was it all in the moment hype?
>>21418764Mid season 1 to 3 is still goated.
>>21418764It unironically went downhill as soon as the show went overboard with the WWE rejects just like TNA, kek.
Anything with intergender wrestling in it is dimeless.
>>21418764The best times on this board were Wednesday nights in 2016. I miss it so much bros
It's pretty much all kino The shorter episodes help it not overstay it's welcome like a 3 hour raw or aew ppv show
>>21419335>this board
>>21419421You know what he means
>>21418764>does it still hold upyes, but isn't really a good show.
Pros:>great presentation and camera>utilizes former WWE shitters into being cool>Cueto and Matanza are based >mercifully short during the era of 3 hour RAWs from hellCons:>Rey and ADR show up to steal the spotlight >joshi shitter ninja angle went on too long
The presentation was too fake for me. It reminded me of that karate master show from the 90s. Lucha underground is not wrestling but if you’ve never seen a mid 00s indie spot fest before it will blow your mind.
>>21419425Yeah, it's a sub, not a board.
It takes a little bit to get going and you have to get through a lot of boring Chavo shit at first but it’s great once they really start cooking. Last season unfortunately sucks and Matt Striker’s commentary can be insufferable.
>>21418895FPBP. Enjoy the ride, OP. Up to you if you want to hop off before Season 4. It's not horrendous, but it's definitely a step down in quality from the previous seasons.
>>21418895The first few episodes were slop because they had lots of problems but it's already good from about episode 6.
Once they introduce the world title, that's when it becomes peak. It's a serialized TV show about wrestling, and the actors happen to be wrestlers. If you take it on those terms, it is incredible fun. Once you hit Season 4 though it kinda loses its steam. Not sure what Season 5 would have been like, but I can't imagine it would have been much better.
>>21418764season 1 is really the only good one and even then it had some crap episodes. Most of the hype was from how well the storylines ended up progressing and how they were somehow paced perfectly
>>21418764It was good but behind the scenes, it was a complete shitshow.
Going back through it at the moment too. S2 is a lot weaker than I remember. Like nothing really gets going, momentum is all over the place, the logic is off maybe. The return episode is gigakino but the follow up wasn't Catrina putting a bounty on Penta for what he did, she just books him in a normal match.
>>21418764>Future of wrestling Kind of yes, it showed a lot of smaller feds and indies how to play to their strengths even if their arenas didn't hold 20k people. NXT 2.0 to white & gold ran strongly on the premise that it's its own mini universe that was loosely connected to main roster but in that own universe the parking lot was a warzone, having an on screen wrestling university made sense etc. MLW also runs with similar internal logic that is tied to their world where it makes sense that basically G.I.Joe's Cobra is trying to get titles in it and one of their members does indie shows as Marty McFly. It did trailblaze some of that for wrestling on tv.
>>21421912it's a board, not a sub. this isn't reddit, it's an imageboard.
better than 2026 wwe and aew
>>21424604then why do I have to sign in each time?
>>21418764It was based as fuck and still is. It really is the way wrestling needs to go.
>>21424682When WWE signed to Netflix I thought it would become more LU, especially after that segment with Cody and Roman in the stadium.
>>21424710It would've made sense. Or when the had an entire network to fill, they could just shot an hour, or half hour, show in the LU format every week and see how it went. Take it seriously like LU too, not some wink/nudge shit. But alas!
