I honestly don’t know how long wrestling can go on for as an entertainment form. People have been saying it for years but it really feels like it’s been on its last legs for a while now.
>>21415909it will be unironically over once the last remaining attitude era fans are dead or in nursing homes
kek he looks like he should have a hot dog cart in the stands
Wrestling has a dimeless aura surrounding it. Even with all the celebrities and sports guys WWE bring in, it just remains in the death spiral.
>>21415909>please clap
>>21415909There used to be ~20 million wrestling fans worldwide just a few years ago. That number has been getting smaller and smaller since 2014ish, when Bryan killed wrestling at WM30.I'd wager nowadays there's maybe 5 million wrestling fans in the world. 3 million in North America and another 2 million spread across the world.Wrestling will disappear in its current format once the Netflix deal ends and the last attitude/ruthless aggression era guys step away for good, it'll be over and done.
>>21415956>>21416064Exactly. Honestly casuals have always been attracted by aura. Compare auras of people like Andre, Hogan, Ric Flair, Stone Cold, Rock, even Taker or Rey fucking Mysterio to Seff or Finn Balor. It's a travesty. Roman is the biggest aura in wrestling and that's just a testament to how low the bar has dropped. Cody looks like a grandpa trying to fit in with the kids. Ospreay looks like a bum. It's over.
Please clap for WWE
>>21415909Isn't WWE still getting record revenue from ticket sales alone right now? I think a 40 year old company doing their best business now doesn't have anything to worry about
>>21416064>>21416070All good things must come to an end
ravens more like gayvens hahaha
>>21416367Wrestling was never good though.
>>21416494Go study the WWE Network then get back to me
>>21416070Roman, Oba, Logan, Trick, and Rhea all have sustainable aura with the younger generations, I think. That’s a solid five. Others have aura that seems to come and go (Penta, Bron, Vaquer, Iyo). Some old guys like Punk, Drew, and Randy can still get pops. WWE will be fine. I agree that there are certainly dimeless vacuums in the current product, tho… Cody and Seff among them.
>>21416541I'm not >>21416494, but I agree that wrestling was never this amazing TV show. It was, at its best during the late 1990s and early 2000s, enjoyable trash TV... and that's fine. Not everything has to be fine art. I put it in the same category as those fake reality TV shows, but instead of foids gossiping - it's semi naked dudes beating the shit out of each other.

>>21415909>People have been saying it for years but it really feels like it’s been on its last legs for a while now.Meanwhile, in reality, WWE is literally the biggest and most successful it's ever been
>>21416064Ratings were going down YoY since Austin was a mark and turned heel combined with the botched Invasion angle. Bryan didn't kill shit, in fact they had to go in big with Bryan to ensure the Network launched successfully. Batista and Orton weren't going to save the company's biggest risk and money sink.
>>21415909The only hope is to take the live aspect out of it, the modern crowd is the worst part of wrestling, someone needs to make a promotion that is all put together like a movie of choreographed fights. Sounds weird but if done properly bringing back supernatural characters instead le heckin Robbie Reddit the 5’6 technical wrestler, it would work.
>>21418244Lucha Underground was almost exactly that, though it had a crowd.
